Graytail's 4th Perpetual: 4x4 Samsung Panels

Gotta have the reward after all that hard work. :thumb:

And fresh herb has its own magic. :rollit:Aaaaaaahh. Chyesssssssss mang. :ganjamon:

Hah! I dug out some DevilsCarnival6 after a month in the jar and it's straight-up blueberry muffin! :yahoo::thumb:

I haven't had the yeasty bakery smell yet, so I've been wondering about it, and I'm tasting the definitely familiar flavor, trying to figure it out and whammo! It's genuine blueberry muffin! - a cool, room temp one, a little sticky and sweet ... y'know? Blueberry muffin. Hah. Ain' that sumpin.

:bongrip:

Yep, most you guys know I run the Kitty panels... hell I still get emails at least once a month on the new stuff she's pushing. She is dedicated!

@leftout420 is thinking about pulling the trigger on some ... :)

Actually, I'd kinda like to hear some testimonials myself - after all, it's in the journal title.

I'm blown away by this latest yield. What do we like and not like? Any advice for a new buyer?

Yes I’m thinking about it... and I would love to hear testimonials!

I like that they are cool enough I can run my grow in summer, fabricateting a frame for them is straight forward and basic as is the wiring. I still don' know :hmmmm: if I needed to fuse individual boards to prevent thermal runaway when using a constant driver. I pretty much followed "how to" from other members and don't have all the knowledge .and theory on LED's.:Namaste:

I'm running in parallel without fuses, too, and no issues so far. I have two rigs with three panels in parallel. I even fiddled with the exhaust fan once and the room got hot enough to trip the drivers, and that didn't mess anything up. Of course, I'm not running as much current, so a runaway wouldn't be catastrophic. But I won't try to work with 108 volt stuff anymore - too limiting. Heck, it's only that one panel design that's wired that way, anyway. Everything else runs 48 volts or lower - easy to fit drivers.

I am running individual board fuses but they have never blown.:Namaste:

But you're safe anyway! :thumb:

How are the DCs looking? Mine is showing purple in the bud cores at 14 days after flip. :slide: I was admiring its mother's buds the other day in the sunlight. They're almost black, dried, until you light 'em up. But this DC6 is pretty nice too, with that muffin taste in there.

Box o' chocolates. :slide:

DC3 is looking good, I was admiring her today. 28 days old had a TP dunk today, I'll get a pic for you tomorrow. DC2 is a 3" budsicle, I haven't started another I took clones of Carnival, Zamaldelicate, Purple Mayhem and Syco. I started spraying a Carnival clone with CS with thoughts of pollinating DC3 with Carnival again, what are your thoughts on direction of DC3"s future?

My objective would be to introduce the color and taste from DDA, and keep the Carnival high. None of the F2's retained the punch of Carnival. So I'd want to backcross to Carnival again. But the DC would have to be a strong tasting purple or you lose the genes. So if you can use the F3 stock to backcross to a Carnival, that'd be ideal.

Sounds Fab! :thumb:

I have my kitty panels wired in series. I don’t have any fuses on the boards. I don’t think thermal runaway is an issue in series wiring. But I’m like you d1, and don’t understand all the details of the thing. Just enough to build what I did. I’m still working out how to run mine (how hard to drive them, distance from the plant etc) and I haven’t grown inside before so I’ve no point of reference in my experience. It seems to be working quite well so far!

Well, I too am liking the panel I built with the help of both of you and I am sure others..
I dont have a lot of knowledge as far as LED lighting is concerned but I did really enjoy building mine. I have no complaints, I do wonder at times if I should add some red and blue in the flower tent... but so far these boards have grown the most dense and frosty buds for me yet! Really, with the help of you guys, and the ease of putting it all together, I really dont think there is a better way to go. It really is cheap in comparison.

I do have one thing, though I am still not sure if its me making mistakes with foliar.... I do tend to easily get burned tips on my plants... and its generally up higher on the plant where it is getting the most intense light. I would turn them down... but now I have 3 plants in my 2x4 and am hoping its enough for all of them!

If you guys need any more info, or pics, anything... just let me know!
