Graytail's 3rd: 4x4, HiBrix, Latest LED Tech, Lots Of Light!

It's time for another update, folks! :theband:

Everything seems to be humming along quite nicely. BhxUH will get the chop tomorrow and she's ready for it - that timing worked out well - CarnivalB takes her place in the bloom room. And CarnivalA hasn't skipped a beat - the best plant I've had in a year - sticky and dense with swelling calyxes - gorgeous! She should be ready next week, with Tikal1 after that. I'm getting very little fade from this bunch of plants and I think it may be because I've been more conscientious about keeping the pots moist. In the past I'd wait for one of them to wilt and then soak them all, but now I'm giving them all a quart or two between waterings and the pots remain moist enough to easily absorb the feed water when they get soaked. I bet that keeps the soil bots happier. The whiteflies are starting to thrive again though - gotta get that SNS 209 ordered.

So here's the last of the Haze cross. I'm impressed that it finished in 10 weeks. I really thought it'd be a 12-weeker. And even though it's definitely a haze, it was pretty manageable, and it grew some hefty cola tops, too. I'll know in a week if the produce is remarkable.

I'm not sure what I'm expecting from Tikal1. To be honest, I really didn't love the first one that much, at least in comparison to this Carn x UH. But this one is much, much more fragrant and is healthier overall, so it might surprise me. One of the things I like about this strain are all the solid buds in the lower growth.

And then there's CarnivalA. Oh my goodness! She just keeps rockin' it! During the past week, I've peeked in there every day, and each time I ended up looking very very closely for mold because the trich coverage keeps looking like PM. :laughtwo: Sheesh! I'm giving her another week ... at least.

Channel+ has also been a standout plant to grow. She never had a single issue, rooted well, stretched well, stayed green, and has been sprouting trichs all over the damned place. And she has the strongest mint aroma I've experienced yet. I have her going for another three weeks, but she may finish earlier at this pace.

DrGrinspoon keeps chugging along. She sits in the back corner of the bloom room, so I don't see much of her during the week. When I pull her out, she's always just fine, with only a few old fans that need to be removed. Buds and trich production has been slow but steady, with 4 weeks to go. All in all, I'm quite happy with it. I hope the genetics come through in the smoke.

I haven't been all that impressed with Y Griega - not sure why - but she's been getting my attention lately. This has turned into a very promising plant. Five weeks to go.

After Tikal1, this Tikal2 will probably be a letdown - she's much smaller. But it'll be my third, so that'll be just fine. I'll get some solid colas out of this one.

So far so good in the veg room. I was a little worried about humidity falling too low, but the weather has been mild, so RH has remained in the 50s, and everyone has been doing fairly well, even the pitiful CarnA cut. :slide:

Next into bloom will be Taskenti in the front. She should be ready in two weeks. This plant has been slower to grow than I thought it would but it's been very healthy the whole time. In back is Rio2 in the fabric pot

I upcanned Y Griega1 today. I should have done it last week, but I really didn't have the room. She'll be fine.

And finally, I dropped a Golden Tiger in water today. :yahoo: I took picks of a selection of seeds and chose one with a well-defined crater - fourth from the left.

Gosh Graytail, I got lost in my smoke report and missed your post and damn! So much to love. Congrats on too many things to list, but I think I'm most excited about watching you grow a Golden Tiger.

Interesting change in watering technique. Was that inspired by the abundance of light? It sounds like a sound policy and your girls certainly approve. And yes, the bots die off when you let them dehydrate, so I'm sure they approve as well.

I love seeing that Carnival every week. I'm going to be able to get mine to the end, something I'm so relieved about. I didn't want to sacrifice her and she's just starting to look like something you might have grown years ago. :battingeyelashes: Those Tikals you keep growing make my blood thrum and I can't figure out why, since you have other, more stunning specimens to droll over. But they stop me in my tracks every time. Everything's so freakin' gorgeous Graytail.

I'm going back to that buzz now. I've already been through your garden twice tonight. I'll probably start here in the morning. Thanks. Made my day. :hugs:

Every Carnival I see makes me want to grow that strain - especially yours!

Great updates Gray.

Nice yield for a Haze cross! This is the best I've done with a Haze so far. The buds are nice and compact and the scissor hash was exceptional! :yahoo:

Nice numbers brother! What the smell like?

I just smoked my first buds this afternoon, and now that I'm home, I smoked a few pipes for a fresh buzz. My first impression is that it's a lot stronger than I thought it'd be. Utopia Haze is no lightweight but it's not as strong as Carnival for instance. And Buddha Haze wasn't remarkable 'cause she hermied before she had a chance to finish. But this cross has a solid punch! I've been smoking the Rio (Carn x UH) and I think this may be stronger. :cheesygrinsmiley:

And I think it's primarily Brazilian with the typical spiritual high. :yahoo: The aroma is ... there's a characteristic aroma that the old Colombian sativas had, that I seldom see described. It's hard to put a finger on - a light tingling scent, the kind a light lubricating oil might have. I've called it sandalwood, but this has a citrus topnote too. Fresh cut oiled wood, with a bowl of cut limes on top? :hmmmm:

Mostly, I'm startled at the punch it has. My head's still thrumming ...

Better have another pipe. :cheesygrinsmiley:

[Edit] Now I'm getting a mild floral taste ... this one has my attention - gonna watch the terps develop. Or maybe it was the grapes. Has anyone had those Holiday grapes in the stores now? Big crunchy seedless red grapes? Holy crap that's a fine grape! I discovered them a few years ago but last year's crop must have been a bust, 'cause they only had a few and they were gone. This year they're spectacular again.

... might be a munchy buzz associated with this strain ... :hmmmm::laughtwo:

Not sure why it took me so long to stop by but better late then never.

Yeah,me too. I know why tho, toooo many good reads around here, start/finish reading one journal and find 2more.

I hope youre ready to jump into the next journal without an extened break? Give me the chance to follow along and learn from the beginning?:Namaste:
