Graytail's 3rd: 4x4, HiBrix, Latest LED Tech, Lots Of Light!

Despite the frustrations, great news on the new 100x3 Greytail. Ok, everything can settle down again. Keep the clown car running smoothly.

Hey Gray.....have ya watched that new video on sexing seeds yet? Just wanted to know your thoughts on it. Cheers eh .

I saw that posted earlier this year and I got out my camera and took some closeups of a bunch of seeds and posted them to my journal. They were all seeds from fem genetics though, so I was mostly looking to see if they did indeed have the distinctive volcano crater, and almost all of them did! I forget which member wanted all of us to start examining the seeds we plant and assemble some data, but I keep forgetting to check mine - ala Purple Haze. You can be sure I'll be looking closely and choosing the next regular seed I plant. I know PotChimp has been using the method for a few months. I think you can search my thread for the term "volcano" and find the posts - probably can search the whole forum and get some good hits.

:Namaste:

[Edit] Yep, you can find 'em that way, but it doesn't work for the entire forum - too many volcano smileys. :laughtwo:

Hey Shotta, it was really nice to see you posting again! I literally still have photos imbedded in my memory of your gorgeous plants. I can see the foil background :cheesygrinsmiley: the mass of perfect leaves ... can't wait to see another one of your journals.

Did the coco run go well? How's gardening been, in general, for you?

I still can't believe that's only 4x4, lies, LIES...

Simply beautiful GT :high-five:

Come now Smokey, it's not the size of your tent that counts...

Coco has been great for me. I have been working at a hydro shop the past year and I have been playing around with a lot of new and old products. Gardening has been good man. Taking down a small room right now and its looking nice in the yield and quality department. Im glad to be back man. Just want to get another kit cooking here in the next couple weeks so I can try my hand at HB gardening again.

How has it been for you GT?

I sprouted two regular seeds today. The first 4 out of the packet all had volcanos. I'll be surprised if they are both girls.

How has it been for you GT?

I had my last good plants in Jan and Feb and then it all pretty much went to hell. :laughtwo: My veg room tried to kill everything I put in there, my whiteflies had a huge festival and wouldn't go home, and my soil got corrupted by my hard water.

But I'm clawing my way back. :slide: This Carnival I have is blowing me away! I'll have more pics on Monday.

:Namaste:

Hey GT

I think I remember that you have grown a Medicann Blue Blood? If so how was it? Did it have the blue strain flavor and do you think it had a legit high CBD content? I know you don't get your bud tested but it should be pretty easy to tell the difference when you smoke it if it has enough CBD to be worth it.

I found a couple of them in my seed bin along with 3 Hurkle seeds I didn't realize I had either and I am trying to figure out which to go with. If the blue blood is a good plant I would prefer that. The hurkle didn't taste all that great. I mean its not horrible but I am a BIG fan of the blue strain flavor

:thanks:

Yeah this comic strip made me laugh :laughtwo: Ok, we have another sunny day here, so I'm gonna go and visit a local headshop to get a new bong :bongrip:

I haven't had good luck with Blue Blood. My first seed didn't sprout, and the replacement got dusted by Buddha Haze in bloom, so it got thoroughly seeded and it's a PIA to smoke. The taste was unremarkable - no real evidence of the Blueberry in it. And I still haven't decided whether I can feel CBD or not, so it's hard to tell you what its concentration is. Interestingly though, from what little I've seen of CBD genetics, it seems to easily transfer to the strain you cross it with. It sorta feels to me like the BHxBB cross has a relaxing, pain-relieving. character.

This Channel+ I'm running (also a 1:1 THC:CBD ratio) has been a better plant all-around. It has a strong mint aroma now, just a couple weeks before harvest, and it's showing some impressive trich production.

:Namaste:

I'll have to have it removed, darn it. They took it off Ricky Bobbie's already. :laughtwo:

Thanks bud hurkle it is. Based on the butt hole method I have a male and a female soaking. I am going to try and do a seed run with it and a hurkle, Tikal, and maybe a PCK or Panama :thumb:

Edit I forgot I planted the Kali China x pck I will probably use one of those instead of the Panama, only got so much room :)

Good lord where the hell have I been, some much LED power!! :jawdropper:
I'm a fan of your style of growing, I would be honored if you could stop by my tent grow and give me a pointer or 2, my hats off to you looking forward to this next harvest. :adore:

It's great to have another experienced grower onboard! Yeah, I'm running 1065 watts now in 19 sqft = 56 w/sqft. You have 9 sqft, so it's the equivalent of about 500 for you. So you have a lotta light your own self! I like your hps supplementation, although you're seeing the heat problem - 150s aren't very efficient. :cheesygrinsmiley: The fan will fix that as long as you can keep your intake temp in the low 70s.

:Namaste:

Thanks brother! I'm about to install a 4inch hurricane inline fan. I'm shooting for almost 80w per sqft, my room temps are about 73, so I think I'll be good throwing another small hips in there, I do plan on mounting clip fans to constantly blow air on the bulbs though.
