Graytail's 3rd: 4x4, HiBrix, Latest LED Tech, Lots Of Light!

Whew!! Dodged that bullet! Good to hear Graytail. That's a lot of top-quality cannabis and a number of beautiful plants none of us wanted to see you lose.

That Tikal looks more inviting all the time. I actually have a screen shot of her on my iPad lock screen for inspiration. I'm determined to figure out how you train these lovelies. The consistency of your end results draws me like a moth to a flame.

It's simply amazing how quickly they fill out week to week. I look at your updates and I'm shocked at how time flies when you're having fun. :laughtwo:

:bravo:

Do you find with longer veg time the initial burst of flowering goes faster. You veg longer than most, it seems, and the pistil explosion on those BH crosses blows me away!
Cheers!

That phrase jumped out at me, because I'm in mid-shift with that. I'm not really sure how it crept up to 100 days of veg. :laughtwo: I guess I got absorbed in the training, tweaking and bending just "so", week after week, and I wanted to set up a few big beauties. But ... darn it ... I don't have enough soil to finish plants that big so I have to cut back. This next pair are due for flip in 2 weeks which will be 70 days of veg - about right for my setup - I can easily clone and replace that way and I get a 25-30 inch plant with 8+ tops.

But I also have this nice one meter tent I got as a prize from Mars-Hydro and a 290 watt panel from Twilight and some other lights, so I could run 3 nice big plants in there, in 15 gallon pots. :slide: I could train those babies as much as I wanted to.

Anyway, your question: There's a definite difference in the character of the young plant when you've kept it in veg past its natural schedule. They'll start growing steady preflowers - jus' poppin' outta every node. :cheesygrinsmiley: So, when you release the reins, yeah, they're ready. :laughtwo: But I'm also kinda subjective and vague about the precise day I call pistilset, so it's best to time mine from the flip date. At any rate, 10 days ago, they had just started to bunch up at the tops and they were barely showing any new pistils.

That much development in 10 days? You give your word you're not secretly doing some magic spell? :laughtwo: Geez. Ok. Refresh my memory - what run is this soil? Sometime in the next year or so I'm going to have to replicate those results just to prove to myself that I can. Of course, my plants don't live in the Land 'O Light.......... Yet. :battingeyelashes:

:hmmmm: What other advantage could I exploit?

Mornin Gray....wow bud, comin along nicely eh. Desfran looks to be yet, another pheno. Different looking than my three for sure. Not sure what to make of her yet. Very fluffy and thin at the moment. What ya think of her to this point Gray? This is prolly the stage they look the worst eh....she'll prolly fill out really nice for ya...I'm keepin an eye on her to see how she rewards you for what your gonna go thru with her....:tokin:Have a great day will ya!:high-five: BTW,...all the others look to be right on track as your stuff usually does!:thumb:

I'm not all that careful keeping my soil separated. This is probably close to a third round soil - a mix of recently used soil and older well-cooked stuff from last fall.

Good to hear from you, Duggan! Yeah, I don' like the look of this Desfran very much - never did. :cheesygrinsmiley: But the new buds look fairly good right now. I've grown a few of these fluffy things and they usually don't fill out very much but this one has a nice early look to it, like it might actually grow some slender colas. I like the stacked chevron look they have right now. :slide:

PM is the middle finger of mother nature, forever lurking, never beaten.

I also fight the rH battle, every day, let us never sleep, never waver in defense of the goal (perfection!).

GT, you soon going to pop a few beans and try a SWICK? :)

i have an open top shelf again ..14 beer cups filled with various Z'ACE seeds(+); which will have their stems covered in day or so.. 2 sq pots with Golden Tiger(+) in them..

i may do 3-4 larger pots on the SWICK- may try a few beans I got the other day... I need to go through some produce.. :)

Getting ready to start mine on Sunday. I need to pick out seeds. :hmmmm: Think I'll do these all in azalea pots and compare. Are we having fun yet? :slide:

Or cook us up some delicious Ace+edibles!
:munchies:

Think I need to stay with peppers and tomato.

These plants practically grow themselves SWOGA. :laughtwo: They're driven to survive and bloom. You'd have no problem, and if you did someone on this marvelous site would look over your shoulder and work with you to fix it and get you to a successful harvest.

I have better luck with cannabis than with peppers and tomatoes. :laughtwo:

All my space is scheduled into next year, but it's definitely something I want to try. :slide: It's a great way to explore a strain for its phenos! :cheesygrinsmiley: But it also occurs to me that taking cuts is a bit of an issue. :laughtwo: So ... you find the great pheno - then what. :hmmm:

Good luck with the new beans! :thumb:
