Graytail's 3rd: 4x4, HiBrix, Latest LED Tech, Lots Of Light!

I actually just stuck a clone that was kept in water for like two weeks straight into the soil, and we'll see what happens :)

Environment is key. I think you have an issue that you know how to fix and you know what you need to do.

I'd seal it up asap best advice I can give. You will have a much better chance dialing it in after the changes.

Thanks Dutty. Ya, time to get things all proper - can't get another personal best without sprucing up the methods, eh? That Destroyer is gonna be hard to outclass! ;)

The ones I did that way, never skipped a beat. :thumb:

I still haven't run anything 12/12 from seed yet, so I actually don't how that might go. DrZiggy does, but I don't think he's tried much training. You only get what, maybe 5 weeks of growth before they stop? I'm not sure there's enough time to grow a decent canopy.

I'm beginning to think my veg area is like haunted or something. Everything I vegged on my old desktop under the CFLs thrived, but when I moved them under the stair, everything went sour. Those cuts in cups with 3 week old roots circling the bottom just stopped happening. In the new area, I get decay on the submerged stems - fuzzy moldy growth. So I stopped that. Now I'm cloning straight into soil, but having a lousy success rate with that, too. Ima gonna have to build a small aerocloner, methinks. :slide: I'm sick of this crap.

And nope, no physical restraints were used in the subjugation of this BH x BB. :laughtwo: I was surprised myself when I saw the difference in the pictures - just 4 days and she has a totally new shape. New growth is nice and bright, and the plant shows no sign of slowing down. Have you seen Duggan's method? He does the same thing with gentle? supercropping. I bend - he pinches. I have to do it a half dozen times - he's done the first time. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Actually, the Panama is kinda disappointing. The others I grew had more of the vigor of this Tikal. It might be a different pheno, but I think she just doesn't have her legs under her yet, so to speak. :cheesygrinsmiley: This is an S1 of a purple Ace Panama pheno.

I know not to top once they are flowering but does anyone know if its ok to top during 12/12 or 11/13 BEFORE the plants are sexually mature? My ace babies I started in my veg tent so I could at least top them once before putting in the flower tent but I am still getting them in there before they are mature anyway so im really not sure the differences between the two styles or if it even matters.

Hey Duggs, I just negotiated a loan with my best friend for the rest of the money for the ventilation system. Full speed ahead!

I wouldn't top, but you can supercrop. If you top once the bloom hormones have started, you won't get enough new growth to replace what you lopped off. If you bend the tall ones over instead, they'll just grow vertical buds from the branches you bent - no loss of bud sites.

I grew BC Bud depot's God Bud and it's excellent...great flavour and very potent. Anything with those genetics from them will be very good. Just my 2 growlow...cheers eh.

Yeah bud they have some solid genetics. I have God bud seeds waiting to pop. Not my first time but it had been a couple cycles and I lost the cut, so start from scratch :) Not the worst thing in the world. Going to have a fling with the nurse while I wait. The beauty about Night Nurse she is true to those Indica genetics. Finishing out at 7 odd weeks. Can be faster if you have the soil dialed in ;)

You can top successfully up to week 3 of bloom clones may or may not take. If your dealing with size restrictions it's fine just slows the nodal stucture in said area down well further development. I've seen uptake in yield topping in bloom but rarely it's only done in my situation if I don't like the form or structure of plant. I personally top at least two weeks before flower but have gone much much later. I've also taken the tops off all plants and let them flower an additional 2 weeks in this situation yield increased but that's cause bottom plant bulked up after removal of large colas. I also would say the top harvest and waiting for bottom messed my timing and flow of my rooms up.

I was just sent some seeds for free and gods white lightning was one. The seed bank saw me bitch about losing my white lightning genetics after crossing so they sent me Jordan of the islands god white lightning I'm interested I'll pop soon. They should of just called the genetic Thor lol.

Re: Training ...

This Orange Hill Special is more indica than I usually grow, so I haven't been paying much attention to how I'll train it ... until today, when she showed me. :cheesygrinsmiley:

For those who are still developing their own methods - take a look ... can you see it?

DSCN7548.JPG

This plant is still growing paired nodes, not alternating yet, and it has a gap a few nodes down, with undeveloped side shoots above it and accelerating growth of the shoots below it, just below that seam in the concrete block. If I top it there, I can easily LST those eager side shoots into a good canopy. There are 3-4 pairs all at about the same height, and I'll be able to slow those enough to let another pair or two catch up. Voila! A canopy with a dozen tops. :slide:

She's looking quite well. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Here are the three seedlings, much better now that they're being cared for. :laughtwo:

I didn't pull BH x BB out of her corner, so all I have is a couple cramped shots. She's getting ready for bloom soon.

The next two in line ...

If I get some surviving Carnival cuts, I'll run them next, otherwise, I have two more BH crosses to try, a Strawberry Blue, and some other interesting seeds.

:Namaste:

Looking great GT! Glad your babies are getting back on track. I was neglecting mine too and the bottom few sets of leaves got sickly looking. I hit them with some energy/trans/tea and some stress for pretty much the first time the other night and they look so much better already :thumb:

You do that teaching thing so well Graytail. Do me/us a favor and keep it up.

Yeah, I did see it. Got my blood pumping when I realized I'd spotted it before I read your comments. :slide:

They all look well-behaved and ready to dance. Even your teeny ones have so much character. I'm going to look back on my first couple years growing and just laugh, won't i? :laughtwo::green_heart:

:Namaste:

your plants are looking amazing..GT.!

I have an update! :cheertwo:

This grow is finally reaching a point where I have something to work with. :cheesygrinsmiley: I have the BH x BB and the Orange in 6 gallon pots, looking healthy and responding well to training. I have three seeds - Panama, Desfran and Tikal - in 1.5 gallon pots, soon to be upcanned. And I have two more BH crosses - x Nexus and x Destroyer - in cups, ready to be moved up. This week I'll take cuts of BH x BB and the OHS, and probably start a few more seeds. The perpetual is getting geared up! :slide:

The oldest girl is Buddha Haze x Blue Blood. I topped her 19 days ago and began light LST training. I've got my 10-12 tops now and she's at 15 inches, so I'll clean up the bottom and give her another week or so to firm up and then it's into the bloom room!

Orange Hill Special was topped 5 days ago and really responded well! I easily got 8 tops right away and it looks like I'll be able to get a few more by the time she's ready. She's 11 inches today.

Next up are the three seedlings - Panama, Desfran and Tikal. They got planted into 1.5 gallon pots 19 days ago and are starting to look pretty good. Tikal continues to be the clear winner, but Panama is coming on strong with her characteristic strain vigor. :cheesygrinsmiley: I think I might have drawn a fluffy Desfran. So far, it continues to grow this way.

And the two BH crosses - x Nexus and x Destroyer - show clear differences in phenotype. :cheesygrinsmiley: They're growing at about the same pace, but the leaf structures are different. This should be fun to compare.

All of your plants look great. I especially like the shape of the first one, from both the top and side views. Really nice. :thumb:

They're all exciting Graytail, but that Tikal.... I don't know what it is about that plant that just stops me in my tracks. Stunning. It's a shame we can't watch you while you work with them. We're left to fill in the pieces.

I still learn so much just being observant. Thanks for putting the effort into good pictures. Sooner or later I'll start to apply what you've been trying to teach us.
