GratefulBud's Summer 2023 Outside Grow

I'm thinking the soil and roots have packed the outer edge and the inner hole.
This design may have worked well with tomatoes - do they have different root structure?
Cannabis and tomatoes are said to be pretty similar in growth and nute requirements, etc. but I don't know if that also applies to root growth.

Your pot design should work though. I tried that style a couple of years ago before I really started experimenting with SIPs. Seemed to work OK but I used it on non-canna plants and they were no where as big as yours.

The rootopsy at the end will be interesting.

Yesterday I flushed the White Widow and the Watermelon Kush.
Today I flushed the Critical Kush and the Mimosa.

The CK is hardy - stems are rigid. No need to support the colas on this girl.

The Mimosa is looking delicious. Buds galore that are getting frosty.

Having a hard time picking a favorite girl.

Looking sweet as :thumb:

It's supposed to get the color of watermelon? Inside or out?
Watermelon
Breeders at Royal Queen Seeds harnessed Watermelon OG S1 to create our own Watermelon feminized strain. She's a favourite among cannabis lovers that enjoy peaceful, stoning, and euphoric highs. But don't underestimate this strain; THC levels of 22% hit hard and fast. Take things slow, enjoy the ride, and savour tastes of sweetness and fruits. Grow her indoors or outdoors with ease.

It gets big watermelon size seeds 🤣
Ha!
I sure hope not!

I keep improving my grows and this one is the best yet. Very proud of this grow.

Those buds are really starting to bulk up! Sorry about the caterpillars and damage though...maybe BT does expire after all.
The caterpillars have so far ignored the Watermelon Kush.
Shit I jinxed it.
I just need to stay on top of the others under nets.
Oh that makes more sense than the coloring!
Their web site shows a very colorful looking bud. Lots of purple. Who knows how mine will turn out.
Wondering if should add some Purpinator to help them along?

I haven't seen purple watermelons (!), but most reds and purple are brought out (if the genetics are there) by cooler temp later in flower. Purp is 0-2-4 so you would want to make sure there's room for it in your mix.

Here are the ingredients: Monopotassium Phosphate, Potassium Sulfate, and Magnesium Sulfate
All 6 ladies are getting FF Trio plus I'm now adding ChaChing (9-50-10). After I flushed I fed lite nutes.
Because I feed with every watering I'm going about half strength of all. The 4 in pots seem to love this routine. I've been cutting back on the Grow Big and next week I'll add little or none (week 6 of flower). See how they do after the flush.

I'm still trying to dial in the SIPs. . . .
