GratefulBud's Summer 2023 Outside Grow

Grow really is amazing so far, GB! The pic of the White Widow on the plant is a PHOTM!

Flowering stage is looking splendid on your ladies, I love your zip enclosures! I had purchased one myself but hadn't even dawned on me to use the supports on the interior surrounding the plant as you did.

Thanks for letting me hop on board a little late, excited to see this grow come to fruition. As for the weirdo in the bunch right now, don't we always have one?! But we always figure it out, no matter how crazy these beauties are!
Thanks Krissi!
I’ll update with more pics soon. Before the wheels fall off. LOL :laughtwo::laughtwo:
Just wanted to mention that a wet towel will get the pot lower than the ambient shade air temperature (which can get pretty hot up there!). If it's 90º in the shade then the res is 90º. Evaporation is a cooling process. :)
Yep. It’s going to be warmer next week.

So today's pics are Mimosa and the Gorilla SIP.
Both are 30 days in flower.
First the SIP.
She drank very little today but the res was empty by 3pm so I refilled with only filtered water. See if she likes that.

As you can see there were quite a few dead leaves so I removed a bunch.

And next is the Mimosa. Very bushy, nice color, and only a few yellow leaves. LOTS of tops.
This plant has come a long way - her 2nd day above ground she fell over and looked dead.

I propped her up and did my best Trala impersonation to nurse her back to life. Just look at her now!

I'll show more pics of the others in the next few says. It's getting interesting.

Mimosa sure does not look dead now she is a beauty.

Thanks - I'm hoping this Cinderella story has a happy ending!

They're looking great! Might want to try the wet towel trick since it stopped my SWICK from yellowing.
This wet towel jazz is a damn good idea! I've got a couple a plants literally growing in a shed. It was a hundred degrees here yesterday. It was hotter in that shed. So, as I was standing there in the shed it occurred to me, about what that guy called "In The Shed" was doing with wet towels. So ergo I get out some towels, and hell i think it's working! Good call on wet towels.

Glad to help Guy! I'm just passing along what was recommended to me on the site. :)

Quick peak of two other ladies I am growing. This is the Critical Kush.
She is about the same height as the Watermelon Kush - 41 inches.
Not a yellow leaf on her. Very bushy and dark green leaves.

The White Widow is the shortest - 34 inches. She has a TON of tops. Her leaves are a lighter shade of green.

Here are 3 as comparison.
White Widow on the left, Critical Kush in the middle, and Watermelon Kush on the right.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Both the Watermelon Kush and the Gorilla OG (SIP) will go the rest of the way until harvest without the netting. I want to see if the nets are worth the hassle. So far I've seen 3 caterpillar damaged buds - one on the Watermelon, one on the White Widow (under net) and one on the Gorilla. I'm spraying all 6 with bt about twice per week. So far not seeing a need to spray with Castile soap. Minimal thrip damage and a few leaf hoppers scooting around.
Shit. I just jinxed it.

The Gorilla OG in the SIP bucket is still not drinking. I may need to flush the res with hydrogen peroxide like I did the other SIP. The worm casting tea did not do much.

Pool Bud!!!

Pulled 2 more caterpillar damaged buds off the White Widow today. I accidentally left her net open for a few hours the other day and something must have snuck in. I sprayed more bt.

Gorilla looks ok except for all the yellow leaves. She’s still not drinking near as much as her sister sip. I’ll fill her res with a lite hydrogen peroxide mix this evening and let sit overnight. I’ve got wet towels on both sip buckets.

Last night I drained the res on Gorilla and refilled with 1 quart hydrogen peroxide + 3 quarts water. Let it sit overnight. Hoping this will kill off any bad bacteria and kick start her drinking normally again. This morning I drained it all out using a siphon hose. Refilled with FF Trio nutes + 1/4 tsp Beastie Bloomz. Also added 1Tbsp Dynomyco.

Yellow leaves are getting bad. By the time I get to harvest there may only be frost leaves left. Her colas are putting on some weight - they are starting to lean a little bit.

They're going to be leaning all over the place in a month! Also, there should be a couple of inches of water in that saucer. :)
Yeah was thinking same. I've been putting the wet towel on the outside of the bucket but keeping water in the saucer will help as well.

While we are on the subject of leaning…

What do you call a woman with one leg shorter than the other?
Eileen.

Now while we are on the subject of Eileen…

Karen FTW.

Well the Gorilla SIP fix has not kicked in yet. The OG took over a week to recover so we'll see in a few days. I topped off both res this morning and by 2pm the OG res was dry; the Gorilla res was still about 3/4 full.

Here is the Gorilla on 8.25.23

And here she is today.

She's probably lost 50% (or more) of her fan leaves in the last two weeks.
I'm not kidding when I say she will have zero fan leaves left by harvest.
