Grateful Bud's Backyard Outdoor Grow - SFV OG

*stands*

Hello. My name is Grateful Bud and I'm an under-waterer.

I first started under-watering a few years ago. It seemed like the right thing to do. Everyone was warning me against watering too much - so I didn't. Unfortunately that mindset continued well into flower and up to harvest. I don't think I have ever watered enough. Probably why my plants have stayed relatively small with light airy buds.

No more!

I have learned the error of my ways. This crop I've been watering / feeding more than previously. These plants are thriving! Even outdoors with the heat they are doing great! Although it has been a lot cooler this July vs. last year. Under 95˚F for the past few weeks which is very good.

I flushed all on Saturday and thought for sure I would have to water today. Nope. No signs of wilting yet. Rolling the dice and will water for sure tomorrow am.

Rock on!
Grateful are you a general gardener?

Like does your yard look nice?

Hi Tra!

I'm not really a "gardener". The backyard looks nice because of the patio and the pool (I am the pool boy). My wife and daughter have lots of stuff growing in the back yard, and sometimes I help. We have raised beds with corn, tomatoes, watermelon, beans, zucchini and more. We also have a Lettuce Grow™ - which is a vertical hydroponic garden where we grow our own lettuce, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, and herbs. Also have several blueberry bushes, along with a few fruit trees (apple, peach, apricot, nectarine, avocado). Mostly in pots.

I am nowhere near as organized as you are!

I'm coming to your house when our earthquake supplies run out!
Heh.
Small harvest on most of those items. Just growing for fun. But if the SHTF we know how to grow our own food. I'll turn the back AND the front yard into farm land. Too bad my pool is saltwater otherwise I could use that for watering plants.

I say we should go swimming then earth quake supplies :D
Funny story.

My pool was leaking pretty bad. I had a guy come out with scuba gear and he epoxied underwater to repair the crack. Worked fine for about 2 years, then started leaking again. So scuba guy patched it again ($600). Every 2-3 years I had to epoxy it. This went on for about ten years - he finally told me was not going to patch it anymore (he was the only one I could find who did this type of repair). After looking at all of my really expensive options I chose to build another pool - inside the existing one (it was HUGE). Think of a bathtub sitting inside a much bigger bathtub.

So now I have two pools - one sitting inside the carcass of the original. A little bit shallower but no biggie - it was deep before. When it was being built I told them to use extra / stronger rebar in the area where it had cracked previously. They did. The pool builder told me that if there was ever an earthquake to go jump in the pool as that will be the safest place to be. LOL!

My pool is huge too.

Funny story this end. It he pool was the thing that was stopping me buying this house. Too much work I thought. I don’t want or need a pool I thought.

We agreed if we didn’t use it during the year we would fill it in.

Omg! Cleaning it each day is hands down my favourite daily chore. Water raking I call it. And while I just sit by it in winter, I swim every day in summer.

Love it!

I swim almost every day in summer. My wife too.

That’s crazy but cool at the same time I wonder if you list the house with technically two pools how much extra someone would pay lol so earthquake jump in Gratefuls pool got it!

I took some pics this morning so thought I would update. I fed nutes this am so the skirts came off.

Yesterday I trimmed Cindy's bush again. Too many larfy branches that won't amount to much.

Lori is showing clawing on several lower leaves. I have reduced the nitrogen and still seeing clawing leaves. Not sure what the issue is.

Flowers on Dawn

Julie and Janice are doing well - seeing some yellowing leaves. Julie stretched a bit so I added a wire loop to keep the netting off her top cola.

Looking good with the veils off! Clawing of the leaves in the flowers is often genetic if that's the only place you see it.
Hi Shed!

Lori is a SFV OG - same as Tara and Dawn. Cindy and Sunny are supposed to be a different strain of OG. Lori is clawing much more than any of the others, and she is noticeably darker green. Tara sits right next to her and is noticeably lighter green than the others. Weird.

Looking good Grateful when are you expecting them to be finished?

Could be a nute-sensitive pheno then. If you can't back the N off alone you could try cutting the nutes for that one plant 10% with water and see it helps.
