Granny420 Grows Multiple Strains In Soil Using ViparSpectra XS1500 And Vivosun Tents

Hi, Granny, Thanks for the tag!- if you're going to train them low, they'll also need a bit more width than usual...if you can limit them to 20-22" wide, you might be able to squeeze 4 into a 4x4, but it's going to get pretty tight in there toward the end..
How tall are they now? it may be a few weeks late to do the "low" thing on a few of them, but there's always supercropping...which I hate to do, but sometimes, there's no other choice-

I don't think they could be any healthier- you've got some real beauties there!👍
Hey Carcass!:high-five: I’m gonna have to check out your grows and see your magic! It’s a 5’x5’, but I have 12 plants in there. One is 17”, (3) are around 13”, and the rest are avg of 10”. This grow started off as a SOG in 5.5” pots… but I just couldn’t do it.:thedoubletake: There are 4 Fat Bastards in 5g pots which have been lst’d, the other 8 are in 3g pots with 4 tops each. I got delayed with health issues and then a long relaxing weekend away… my girls didn’t wait for me and now, me thinks they will be a bit much for this tent! I have a couple other grow areas that I’m pretty sure I’m gonna need. Just taking it one day at a time. Will see what the stretch brings I guess!

And thank you for the kind words. They are sure not the glorious buds and colas I keep drooling :drool:over in everyone else’s grows, but they seem to have a good start.

:hug::love::hug:

Heading into the hospital trenches now but I’ll circle back later.

Your grow looks really great :)
Hey Trala!:high-five: Have a super shift in the trenches! Are you feeling more comfortable with the telemetry? Your QRS and P waves? I could quiz you, but I wouldn’t know the answers! :cheesygrinsmiley: Lol

And :thanks: for the kind words. Just got done catching up in your journal and WOWSA!!!:yahoo::slide:

:hug::love::hug:

Those quads look fantastic!

Did you remove the swick bases Granny? I didn't see them in that last pic.

What's better than coming home to that gorgeous garden from a beautiful place like that Granny! Not much!
Hey Otter!:high-five: :thanks: honey! You got that right! Beauty everywhere! Always wonderful to see you!

:hug::love::hug:

Hey GDB! :high-five: Yes, I removed them. You know how hard it is to get around in this tent cuz you have one too. It was damn near impossible with those bases. I don’t know how you get around in yours considering your height! EEK! LOL:cheesygrinsmiley: What did you think when you used the bases? I don’t think I used mine right cuz the fabric pots never did get wet into the bottom? Is there a trick to it?

:hug::love::hug:

Yeah, you had a bunch of them jammed in there. I imagine that might have been a little tough. I had a lot more room to work with; I only had 4 of them in a 5x5 tent.

The time I used them was with coco. They performed really well, IMO, though I did have to periodically top-feed to keep the coco on top from drying out. The second time I tried using them with soil but, like you, I eventually removed them. I was having issues with the plants though. And those issues may or may not have been related to the swicks.

I never moved the bases unless they were empty and I just wanted to (like to wash them out or something)! I have a battery-operated siphon with an extra long tube on it. I was able to just slide a bucket of water/nutes to the front of my tent and use the siphon to fill the bases. That was one of the things I liked most about them. They really cut down on the time it took to water my plantation! :)

Some folks have problems with roots growing into their wick lines and even down into the base. For sure, roots are going to come through the bottoms of fabric pots when using swick bases. I found that lifting the plants daily (or frequently) and just rotating them a bit helps to minimize the number of roots able to invade the base or the lines.

And, how one positions the lines plays a large role in the root invasion thing too. I talked about how I tried to get around that issue HERE.

That's all I've got on the swicks Granny.

You don't need no stinkin' swick bases! You're gonna' having cranking no matter! :Rasta:

Good morning :)

I’m back there today. I actually am. My Clinical coach said all I need to do is act on alarms. The place has wall to wall doctors for ECG interpretation.

Yeah the Tent of Debauchery is defs not for the meek lol.

I haven’t forgotten you. I have a nightshift tomorrow so I’ll have time in the morning to show you how I keep them low.

Do you want me to post here or tag you in the tent so I don’t clag up your thread?

Hey G Daddy Black!:high-five:Being a granny (actually Great Granny), I love the sound of your name. Yes, I think that’s going to be in my future, less plants but bigger each. You were smart!

That is such great info! I will have to look at that coco grow. Always learning from others!:slide:
And not moving them is key too! And when empty. Mine were all still full of water. That is awesome how you used a siphon! I gotta read your grow with them!

Loved the link info! I still am using the swick base on my Blueberry Cheese mom. I will definitely change the way the swicks are on it. Thank you so very much for all this info! Im sure I’ll use these again in the future, so I’m grateful for the info!:love:

:thanks: Honey. I don’t think I have a choice now - these girls have a mind of their own! I’m so ready to get growing buds!:woohoo:

Hey Trala!:high-five: Shwewh! Isn’t technology with alarms and often an interpretation with it, well they make it a much safer and easier course of action. As a nurse, I guess you can only report and then follow orders. It’s a pretty scary job at times tho - it takes a certain kind of person to handle that and you got it goin’ on, babe!:yahoo:

You can do whatever works best for you! If you have it described somewhere already, even a link will do. No rush here. You can flag up my thread any time you want tho!
I love the Tent of Debauchery!!:cheesygrinsmiley::love::green_heart:

UPDATE BBC MOM & CLONES

Blueberry Cheese mom BBC#1

She is loving the quadlining. I’ve never cut tops before this quad and I’m loving how uniform the top area is with this method! Lights are now at 100% on her. #QuadSquad

She is just beautiful. I’m looking forward to taking more clones from her underside. She is making plenty for me!

She is also the mom of these 2 clones. I’m hoping they both survive. They seem to be doing fine.

This is a fabulous Monday! Hope this finds all of you having a great day too!

Happy Tuesday to Everyone!

Hope ya’ll are having a super fantastic day!!! May your journeys be filled with love, laughter and great green girls!

I am working hard here, once again trying to make room for my other tent. ie the 5’x10’. I will have to take this 5’x5’ tent down, which will be some work… but my 12 girls are going to be too much for this tent. Bad planning? Probably. But needing more space also means growing bigger girls and that is a wonderful problem to have!

This first come-back grow has been pretty chaotic on what I’m doing, but I might get it together some day! LOL :cheesygrinsmiley:

I did finally find the 420 contest area! Again, a sincere thank you to whomever nominated my journal! I didn’t see where I could find that info. :love:But thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!:love: I feel very honored. But I voted for someone else, a very deserving member with awesome growing skills, great support for others, and much more deserving than myself!!!

Lovies n hugs to ALL!!!

Another COP (got it right GDB!)

Change of Plans… I remembered why I wasn’t going to set my 5x10 tent up again. It is 80” tall and that is too tall. My ceiling up here is 5’ across in the center and then it slants down on both sides. That tent had to be centered in the room and took up every inch of the ceiling. When I had this tent set up previously (until 2012), I had just a slip of an opening to have to get thru to the back raised area where my 2x4x5 tent is as well as my planting/soil area in one side of the closet there. It was too tight to get soil to the back room.

Anyhoo… I went to our 420 sponsors and purchased another Vivosun cube tent exactly like the one I set up recently. A 5’x5’x6’ cube tent. This one fits under my room’s slanted ceiling great, leaving me room to get around outside the tent for schlepping bags of soil. Thus, I will have 2 separate cube tents end to end giving me that same 5’x10’ area. It is harder getting around inside of this shorter cube tent, but it sure fits this old upstair’s ceiling better.

My only problem is that Vivosun tents are NOT stealth delivery’s. The box says exactly what is in it. My UPS delivery guys know I grow a lot of plants outside every year, flowers, herbs, veggies, etc. But I’ve already had 2 grow tents delivered this year and I just hope my delivery ppl don’t report things like multiple grow tents, lights, carb scrubbers, etc. Because I’ve had many deliveries this year and a number of them say exactly what’s inside the box, especially Vivosun brands. EEK! I’m just gonna pray they don’t suspect this ol’ granny of growing the ganja! Grow tents have many purposes, right?

This solves my dilemma of not having enough flowering area. It will double what I have and I won’t have to use our west wing upstairs. I can save that bathroom space for when I want to pollinate for seeds. Hubby would have a cow if I put any tents over there, but a few smaller plants that don’t smell too much will be tolerated. There is no way for me to ventilate over there.

Kinda just thinking out loud here! Now I just have to wait for that delivery and set up the tent!
:woohoo:🎪⛺

A pic in the flower (pre flower at the moment) room. Girls are too tightly packed and are begging me to do something! I’m on it girls!

Good morning G Sparkles :)

I think you should feed that back to Vivosun. Many of us grow in countries where it’s illegal to grow. I have all my weed stuff sent to a safe address for that reason ie not to bring the heat here. I’d fucking DIE if a grow tent turned up with identifiable information on the box. I have heard this before and it 100% turn me off buying vivosun, just because of the unnecessary risk factor.

Mars Hydro is stealth af.

I’ll circle back today with carhook links.

Hey Trippy Trala! :high-five: Yep, I plan to let them know this in a review at a later date. I really debated over tent sellers, but I went ahead anyway. Hopefully the Ganja God blinds the delivery peeps from seeing that info! Haha!:yahoo:
