Grandpa's Second Try - Come Join Us!

It's like Kelley and I always say... Angles are everything! :tongue-out:
This will definitely require a lot of practice. She finally took the camera phone and took the picture. šŸ˜

Looking good gramps! Really starting to go now!

Is there any contraption you can create or use, so you can set the phone on or against it to ensure Jane is in the pic? If Kelley could give you a hand with that once it could suffice for a month or 2. (If she's not feeling up to it or is having a rough day).

Regardless great update! And I can't say enough how happy I am for you guys winning Jotm! Yay

If I may offer a further suggestion Grandpa?
How about using a selfie stick but turn the phone/camera and the pole to point at or touch the edge of the photo target.

See what happens when medicated minds combine??? I've never used a selfie stick but seems easy enough! And he could leave it in the tent just snap the phone in and shoot. Right? Great call

You guys both have great suggestions. The issue is getting the angle up-and-down correct and lined up with the side to side. The X & Y axis so to speak. Any Contraption or even a selfie stick will not solve both of those issues at the same time. I'm just going to have to figure out a way to get both acxii lined up correctly. Shoot... I have even checked the Play Store to see if there is a camera with voice prompts. No luck.
So you guys think she looks okay for being 31 days old already?

Great pic this time.. shes looking the same as before though, not much improvement yet. Hoping she starts growing out of control for ya gramps.
Thanks, IT. I'm hoping right there next to you! :thumb: :tongue-out:

Outstanding suggestion. I might be using this myself.

That's the best part about photo period gramps you don't have to worry about age. Once she hits full stride she will take off like a rocket! Just keep up the good work and tlc for now. :thumb:

Can I suggest a little mist before lights out? That way she can get a drink through her leaves. It may help. I'll let others chime in on that though. I mist my plants every Monday and Friday :)

Hello 420 family, just got home.

Selfie sticks are great, it's a bit hard for visual alignment, but awesome idea, I used to use mine all the time. Still do but my plants are shorter this time. Hmmm, I'm gonna give this more thought.

Also, that darn soil is so hot grandpa. She is still improving but only slightly. Her tips of the new growth are yellowing slightly. This yellowing is coming from the soil being a bit too hot from the inside out. But she's still growing and her new growth is still lush green. That is what we have to focus on my friend.

I don't think we'll be able to compare this growth with the amount of days, because she is slow outta the gate. But it's good to post the amount of days to remind me, so good job.

That's not a bad idea at all. I'm assuming the water should be pH as well. Thanks a lot MD!

Won't that bring a chance of mold? Im terrorized off mold ever. Person I have ever talk to growing up was mold issues.

Great concern KJ, however I have a small fan that blows the canopy of buds in the dark, and a big fan that comes on when the lights come on. I only do this in flower by the way because I have a sea of green effect going on. ;)

Welcome home and thanks for that wonderful input, G2H! I'm just going to have to do the finger method until her Roots start growing out and reach the bottom. I'm also going to have to keep in mind that the bottom of the pot stays much more moist. I think spraying her down with water just after lights-out will help as well. Frankly, I cannot wait until the new light gets here. I'm curious to see how much heat it puts out. I also and beginning to think it might be a good idea to take a picture of the specification page of the manual so that you guys can see it and help me get it arranged in the tent. Just a thought... :tongue-out:

Okay so if proper ventilation is there water shouldn't make a plant get mold .?

May I ask why they say to foil at before lights out instead of lights on?

Awwww, thanks Grandpa,

The finger method will never steer you wrong. Again, the roots is where the information is stored, in most cases.

I have not used fabric pots so I was unable to predict moisture near the bottom, to tell you, sorry bout that. Because I have to use my sensory to grow, I'm only able to relay my exact experiences so far. On the other side, I get to learn from your sensory judgements now. Give and take is awesome....;)

I think spritzing at night is brilliant TMD...;)

Hey Grandpa, I'm sure they have a set up/manual online, I can research that for you, or even ask the sponsors here. ORRR can anyone do this instead of me? I'm not good with manuals. In fact, can someone help Grandpa set up that light and get him some answers tech wise, I'm the last person you would want assistance from, my brain is blocked in this context. I hope someone else can help, sorry Grandpa.

;)

Ok here we go im throwing this out there.

Fabric pots are a pain in the ass to be honest.. sure the roots get good aeration but its so damn difficult to evenly water a fabric pot. If you dont even out the bottom the water will run to one side too. Its hard as hell to even out those pots. Maybe switch to a plastic pot in the future.. it could be easier for you.

Ive been watering lots more gramps.. i would get issues where my bottom leaves looked all crispy and yellow like yours. Now ive been watering every two days then the third watering ill water on the third day to let them dry out a bit more. No more yellowing leaves!

In conclusion.. i think you need to try watering her more. Idk if it will help cause shes a tiny gal and when this happens to my ladies its when they are big and ive flipped them to flower mode. Youve tried all other methods it seems!

Your grow space is dry and that soil is hot so she needs extra water i think.. water even if the soil is still moist after a few days.

Again she is small so idk if she can handle the extra water but theres something wrong here and you havent been overwatering her by any means. You keep very good track of how dry the soil is but maybe we need to be watering more then we think.
