Grand Daddy Black Grows A Stack

Sorry, GDB- I was babysitting when I usually do my update, so it was a bit late...
But here's the cliff notes version: Same ol' plants, but a little bigger fatter than last week... :)
Lucky you! Bigger plants is nice but babysitting is priceless!

I had my two grandsons this past weekend. Four-year old Prince and two-year old Kingston. Prince is a normal sized kid but Kingston is a big palooka. Guess who wants "pick-up" all the time? :)

Hello growers.

I got my other two babies up-potted today so everyone is nice and snug in the tent.

And, after a sufficient diva's delay, the Chiquita Banana clone has chosen life and is now filling her cup with roots!
Babies 9-21-21 .JPG

Front big pot: Original Glue
Rear big pot: THC Bomb
Middle pot: Fast Banana
Front big pot: Alien Rock Candy
Solo cup: clone

Everything is in FFOF except the Original Glue. To rehash, the babies will be raised on @Prescription Blend nutrients and the clone on @GeoFlora Nutrients.

I chose the OG to go into the Roots Organic Lush soil (LOS). It will live off of that and water for as long as the soil can support it and then be supplemented with @GeoFlora Nutrients to the end.

Thanks for looking in.

Peace.

Hello growers.

I've got my slurry test results for the soil of the GOG clones.

I only took a soil sample from one pot and used distilled water to make the mix (stirred a few times over about 2 hours time).

I took 3 readings. One with my cheapo Zon meter for which I have no calibrating solution. The other two were taken with my Apera Instruments meter, once before calibration and once after.

The readings:
Zon meter: 5.6
Apera uncalibrated: 6
Apera calibrated: 5.8

So the PH is way low and 420 members rule! (You know who you are, @Carcass, @Virgin Ground, @InTheShed and the busy person.)

So I need to get it up (the PH).

Now I want to test the dubious soil out of the bag. If the results are similar maybe I can find a way to use the last 2 bags that I have!

Peace.

Lime sounds right. My LOS gets fast acting lime during the grow to combat this too.
Good to know, Stone.

I have a question about LOS. I mixed some (I think) about 3 months ago. I started "cooking" it by keeping it moist.
Then I forgot about it. Now it's been sitting dry for probably about 2 months.

What do I do now. Start over? Keep it moist for at least 30+ days before using it?

Nope, just keep it moist and it will keep. I moisten mine with any teas leftover to get it microbed up. Not sure they live that long but they keep the cooking action going making it better. Yes 30 days sounds good if you didn't keep it moist along the way. It's fine. 30 days may be overkill. My next grow will be in soil amended almost a year ago and if it's wet when I go to use it It'll be fine. I do water it from time to time.

Hello growers.

Update time.

The babies in the Freebie + 1 grow are moving along. It's their day 16 and they seem fairly content. A few are shedding their bottom leaves about which I don't give a hoot. They're probably doing it because they were underwatered as infants (a habit I'm trying to break).

The THC B, FB and ARC remain on the Week1-2 dosage of @Prescription Blend. The clone recently got another small top-feed of @GeoFlora Nutrients Veg. And the OG is thriving in the Roots Organics Lush soil.

The Godfather OG Clones are probably wondering what the heck is going on. Yesterday I flushed them out with tons of water in preparation to do the slurry test. (Flushing two 5 gallon pots and then having to bring their heavy asses back up a flight of stairs was zero fun.) After getting a low PH reading I treated them with a tablespoon each of fast acting lime.

Now they have very heavy pots but no nutrients. I gave them each about .5 liters of feed this morning with MC back down to 5.5g just to get something in there. Whatever is going on with them, they continue to stack some huge buds. Partly because of yesterday's movement (I think), they are now floppers. I tried to brace them up and they chuckled.

In the Fast tent, things are getting interesting. The Fast ones continue to drink less and less so they must be pretty close. I haven't looked at any trichs yet but will start soon.

The Chiquita Banana clone was sagging and thirsty this morning. Meant to feed her yesterday but didn't get to it.

And that is a wrap.

As always, thanks for looking in.

Babies are perking up.The yellowing is looking better. I find if its mostly older fans being cannibalized, they are getting from the leaves what I haven't been able to or given yet. This far in flower, its not abnormal. Looking good. Frosty :yummy:

The babies and the solo cup clone look good, the OG's are improving, and trim jail is just around the corner with the fast bunch...
I'm not sure where the flushing comes into play.
What's the next move? Wait till things dry out, then do the slurry test?

Thanks @stinker. Be well! :Rasta:

Usually a slurry test is done on soil that is almost dry so the fertigation water doesn't influence the results, so I'm not sure where the flushing comes into play.
Who knew?

The deed is done. I've adjusted for low PH.
He already did the slurry test, so I'm confused what the flushing was for. I'm sure he'll be back to break it all down.
Fat chance. :laughtwo:
