I had to catch up a few pages Mel. As always, a good read with great pics!

You're slipping dude. I see a couple of yellowing leaves at the bottoms of both the big girls. šŸ˜

BTW, is it common knowledge among outdoor growers that lady bug larvae eat PM? I read stuff like that and wonder, "How the hell does he know that?" And for that matter, how do you even recognize lady bug larvae? Is that the kind of knowledge that most outdoor growers gain over time, out of necessity?

I'm curious because I'm fascinated by the range of knowledge many outdoor grower command about the most arcane subjects! :)

Lol, yeah, they're pretty hungry!

Just the larvae of a particular kind of ladybug, not all of them.

In this case I know because @BeccaBuds told me!
I posted a question a while back and she identified them.
And for that matter, how do you even recognize lady bug larvae?
I found a freaky looking bug on one of my plants one day. It looked predatory, so I let it be, but I searched "spiky black bug" and looked through the images until I found it. They're pretty distinctive...and memorable.

Well, I wouldnā€™t say it's necessary, but it'll save you from freaking out a bit...and trying to solve problems that don't need solving.

Actually so am I. Search engines and posting questions here have really led to a lot of interesting info.

Thanks GDB!

Thanks for taking the time, Mel! :)

Girls got their second canola oil spray today.
Survivor is starting to get little clusters of stigmas, so she must have been trying to shift to flower for a while.
It's been bright and hot today, so I am done.

Seems like that rescue mission on Survivor was successful. Great job turning her around brother.
:bravo:

Nice day today. Warm dry and sunny, just what we need.
Still trying to figure out if the survivor came from Kong or Godzilla.

Thanks Ke0ncp!
All I really did was feed her, and make sure she's getting some time to sleep! She's doing the rest!

And then there were 3...again! :Rasta:
Lol, yup! Any buds from her are going back to her foster mom, so I'm hoping she does well!
Good job el Beardo!
Thanks Tra!

Have a good one, everyone!

Kong seems to have a little bit of something that looks like rust on some of her leaves. It's not raised, like the rust fungus, but I don't think it's a deficiency.
Whatever it is, it's very slow moving, and there are only a few weeks left of the growing season left. I don't think it'll be a major factor.
Godzilla is stomping along, and has apparently decided she doesn't need so many leaves. They're all either in the shade a large portion of the time, or not directly supporting any budsites, so I'm not inclined to mess with her feed at this point.
Survivor is doing well, and is moving fairly quickly to get some buds built.
In case anyone has been wondering, Survivor is so far to the side in the group pics because of the shadow Godzilla casts around midday.

I've also come to a decision about the next outdoor season.
The type of mosaic virus Cherry Bomb had can persist in the soil for 25 years. I can't grow another plant in the ground there.
So I'm going to try 4 autos in pots. It took a while for Cherry Bomb's symptoms to spread, so I'm hoping that by the time the autos get to the point of showing symptoms (if they get infected at all) they'll be far enough into flower to finish without too much of a problem.
I'm planning on 2 Gelato autos, 1 Strawberry Shortcake auto, and 1 Dark Devil auto.
I might change my mind about all that, but I do have a bunch of auto seeds, and I have to grow them sometime.
I also started vaping the Gelato from last winter, and it tastes like it smelled, grape soda. It's also a really good high. Starts out a bit wild, and glides down to a really relaxing finish, perfect for naptime.

Beautiful plants with nice buds. šŸ‹
Thanks Keith!

That's all I've got for now. Thanks for looking in!

plants are looking great & hope the issue with the GG don't spread & ruin it & the survivor definitely looks better green than lime green do you think it'll finish in time?

No, I don't think she'll be done before the weather gets too cold and wet. I'll move her into my 60x60cm tent when the daytime temps start dropping to 20Ā°C or so.
She'll probably need around a month of tent time to finish up.

My stakes weren't enough.

Got started on adding more, and adding more wire to keep the branches secure.
I guess I went overboard on the training, but I didn't really expect her to get this big.

At least we get to see how frosty she is.

And for one last kick in the balls...

She's alive. I'll try using some Glue as sealant on the split.
I'll be honest, I was kinda expecting this to happen.
That spot where she split was bound to be a weak point.

Ouch! That sucks!! Hopefully you can still make it to harvest!!

She's alive, and there's no wilting parts so far, so she should be okay as long as I support the branches well enough.
I'm going to have to look into building a frame of some sort out of bamboo. Keep the trunk from splitting further.

Tough break, Mel.

What kind of wind speeds did it take to do that?

I'm not sure. We've had a bunch of windy days recently without any problems.
I think the main issue was the rain weighing things down. The buds are still pretty small, but there are a lot of them.
Looking up the weather last night it actually looks like it was pretty calm, but we did have some thundershowers move through. The kind without much wind, but plenty of rain.
Once this fog burns off we'll see how she responds to the sun.

I thought the same thing when I saw your pic.

You could try tieing opposite branches to each other, that way the plant would tend to move as one unit rather than individual branches flailing all over the place.

Easier than building a scaffold for the short time you have remaining.
