GodSpeed's 2L Hempy SOG

Hi
I want to know if there is a beginner's hempy thread I can follow. Yours seems too big a project and isn't as low budget as I want. I want these 10seeds (vanilla kush) to give me someto smoke. Searching on an android phone is slow.
Lonely in this, but aware of what I can do with a little support from the ommunity. Thanks to you all.

Cloud Cult sings:
If you ask a goose a question he never shuts up.
So here is more:
I have concerns about germination.
My idea is to chop up the miracle grow moisture control potting mix in the coffee grinder to a fine grade then nuke it to sterilize (how long if its wet)?
Plant seed in this fine mix overlaying a 2 liter container of 75 % perlite/ 25% miracle grow.
In that bottom mix I wonder should I add the OC+ or not. Should I add bone meal or anything?
Ok my main fear is no germination. If I soak the mix and include in the distillede qt water 1 teaspoon 3% h2o2 in the soak I will go best to pray my prayers are heard.
Thanks.

Ho ho ho merry christmas!
Partially blind from 1000 watt MH and having trouble with my stresed hand typing this small android keyboard so my questions are many.
I need help to get a new setup going asap please.
I have MH 1000w/ 400 w
Hps 250w
2 65w. 27,000K warmCFLs
A clone machine with spinning aerator that clogs
Pumps and other years of indoor sog.
Good seeds of vanilla Kush needing to be germinated soon
But I want to go hempy and need help getting my germ seedbed preped. Any help willing to advise me re my plans:

Go to Lowes for seed started mix/into 2 liter bottles painted black. Fill with 75%perlite /25 % miracle grow moisture control potting mix. Add?_____ Uncertain amt of bone meal, Osmocote plus micronutrients at later date.
Have top layer of seedling mix 100% miracle grow. Plants seed directly cover with dome water from bottom? Or top or both? I am needing a good book is Ryan's Marijuana Elite pile of info for $57 a good idea yes but I needto plant asap.
Thanks.

Wow thats alot of questions you have there Hamstringsrus feel kinda overwhelmed.. I will do my best to answer to the best of my knowledge, remember that i can only offer one persons oppinion, there are many many methods that all suit diffrent growers best for you to find what works for you and dont forget the first rule K.I.S.S (Keep it simple "silly" ?)

Umm were to start ... lol :thedoubletake: I must say that this has hade me  a bit thanks for brightening up my long hard day at work!

First thing i would suggest is a grow bible there are many out there and i will only ever recomend Jorge Carvantes, he covers EVERYTHING you will ever need to know. I have never grown organics so i wouldnt be a bit usless at answering any questions you might have, i personaly refuse to use miracle grow as there are perfect soil mix's out there designed for growing marijuana.

This question confusses me a little can you elaborate on what it was you was asking?
"Plants seed directly cover with dome water from bottom? Or top or both"

There are LOTS of amazing growers here with 100times better journals then mine, have a look around and read as much as you can, might be good to go to a libary to use a computer there?

I am praying for you good luck!

Ok I found a good source of supplies nearby that will help me keep it simple.

This silly girl got a little freaked out with so many choices.

:thankyou:

I tried to do bunch of crazy DIY hydro shit and almost killed my ladies in 2 weeks... Transplanted to soil and started doing simple organic tea for nutes and last harvest plants actually produced alright even with being almost killed because of root rot and few other things... So moral of story is keep it simple and good things happen!! Good luck with everything!!!

Things sound like you got a lot ahead of you. The breeding sounds awesome. I lurk twelve12's Breeding program and I will do the same for yours.

I still have a ways to go before I start breeding. Someday though. Keep up the great work my friend.

C99 is a great strain. I was catching up alittle here GodSpeed. I hear ya there isn't alot to do rite now at the stage you are at. What can ya write? Got a new leaf or two. Myself I like slow journals. That why I grow. Nothing is a hurry here at my home. Looking good there my friend.............. Keepem Green

It was sold out before now they're in stock.

Twelve12 hope your well brother iv been looking for these for over a year no one seemed to have them, hope they stay in stock intill my next seed purchase :)

Hi Norcaliwood times are slow and im starting to notice the massive diffrence from soil to hydro.... this is why i became so fond of hydro. I try to keep things at a steady pace by with a little nipper running around he sure does keep you on your toes!

As always i like to get the worries out the way, AK has a couple of sets of leave (middle) having the claw the tips browning, I’ve seen this before and it was too much nitrogen but as i am on all mix with no added nutes I’m sceptical this is my problem, in the past iv notices all mix to be inconsistent with the food so if it is Nitrogen she will grow out of it. During lights out I’ve been running a ceramic heat lamp, this is good but as it doesn’t show any light i kind of made a school boy error of thinking it was heating up every night, 'BLOWN' so for the last 3 nights she has been dropping to uncomfortable temps, i am not convinced this is my problem as AK is the only effected and only 2 sets of leaves. After checking a few things i have come to the conclusion to let her be and keep an eye on her to see if problem continue i have a feeling she will grow out of it, if anyone has any ideas please feel free to share.

Northern lights is really taking off, the beauty in here thick indica rubber like leaves and squat structure, stretching the diameter of here canopy daily. After the first burn on her leaves no other problems have arisen, she seems to be happy with whatever is chucked at here be it cold temps or a over analysing gardener. I see her roots have just hit the bottom of her air pots and can imagine the structure of her roots are building, still no signs of needing food so will be keeping my eye on them for their first feed.

The aero cloner has been a bit disappointing, dealing with low res temps there has been minimal if any root growth, i purchased a water heater (100L fish tank jobby) left it in there over night and its a duff* one thing doesn’t heat up although the light comes on, so i will be returning this and buying a new one. I have a clone from WR in root riot that is fully rooted and just started showing new growth, i will be training her into a bonsai and keeping an eye on her for her mothers signature trait.

All three new varietys are looking great with no ill effects from the All Mix, Purps is looking amazing with here wide leaves and already slightly blue compared to all the others, still young there is still very little to report, watering when needed and will be transplanted into larger pots soon. OG has seemed to be taking over with the the fastest growth with leaves being very long and narrow, bringing all these different variety’s to a sea of green is going to be a difficult task due to all the different structures they all hold, my main objective is to find a few strains similar in height and growth rate that i can work with to master the SOG. SW is looking very similar to OG with here long narrow leaves, i am expecting to see good things from her in the 2 Litre bottle and hope i can find another variety to keep her company in the SOG.

Breeding

I’ve been doing a lot of preparation and studying to kick off my breeding programme, i am yet of start a journal for this as my girls are still in early days and much like my 2Litre Journal would fill up with tumbleweed, so i will drop a few lines in here just for some reference in later dates. 1 of the 2 selected females for the breeding programme will also be going in to the SOG.

After germinating 10 Afghani specials, in under 24 hours all showed there taps so i sowed in to All Mix, all have broken the soil and are showing their first set of spikey.

I am getting very stretched on the footprint of my FLO tubes and working my hardest to get the breeding area ready for the girls, this is limiting my online time so sorry guys I’m trying to keep up with all your journals.

:Namaste:

Burn tips usually over nute. Nitrogen def is usually gradual yellowing and is not concentrated on one area (the tip). Are you feed-water-water-water-feed-water-water-water-feed for soil?

Everything else looks healthy. When comes to transplanting for the seedling plant it deep so the stretch can be anchoring the plant for adult life. I usually set my seedling high up same level as the bigger plants to slow down vertical growth and concentrate more on side growth. Yea interested on your female selections for the breeding program.

Hey snowskate things are going fairly well here with minimal concerns, cloning is so simple yet can cause massive head aches hope to get my aero running properly soon.

Hi Miwa one of my first objectives is to self-pollinate every strain i ever get using the colonized silver method, from what i read they should be exact replicas of the bearing mother this way i will not have to buy the same strain again, I’ve read with silica gel they can last for 10 years i guess if i grow some out every 2 years i can self-pollinate and get a new batch for storage.

Brother Twelve hope your well i am currently just watering, All Mix has a 5% special mix in it that should feed up to about the 2 - 4 week mark in this stage of life they should be fine with water for 3 weeks. All mix's special mix can be a bit inconsistent in strength of notes, breaking large parts up with your hands usually does the trick but can still be a bit strong believe it or not the mix is 2.4 EC :whoa: I was referring to the claw caused by nitrogen toxicity but i definitely agree on the burn being over nutes, it’s a hot mix and kind of a pain not having immediate control but its amazing stuff in later veg. I am a bit stretched for light but got some milk crates today that should sort my stretch.

Strains i plan to breed

Like i said above i would like to build a small seed bank of all strains i currently have.

I will be breeding the selected male from the Afghani special with all of my females in veg, i am also going to be selecting my favourite female from the Afghani just in case my pups turns to be a male. I am trying to use what i have growing but in time i will be selecting breeding partners more carefully, the main way of selecting breeding mates will be down to their phenotypes i see, smell, taste ect... not just what they say on the packaging.

Conclusion
Afghani Special x All females i currently have
Afghani Special x Dj shorts Blueberry
Og Kush x The Purps

There are alot of cross's i want to try and mainly brought the Afghani to cross with Dj shorts Blueberry.

:peace:

Doing very well thanks for asking. Just busy raising the clone army and the new bloom room.

Your plans for breeding sounds good. DJ Short's BB should be great compliment to any cross. My next purchase (in a year) will be DJ Short's. I've seen some OG Kush x The Purps looking forward to see your version of the cross. You're right, grow the plant and give the description based on experience not from the seed bank's. As you know it's part of marketing so every description of a strain sounds great. I had to let go of many strains because they don't grow as advertised, my style and environment had some contribution to it, so have no fear in letting go of strains that does not meet your expectation.

miwa thanks for the link bro not sure if they sell that here in the uk, i have ordered some colloidal silver that iv read does the job should be here soon.

snowskate there are some excellent Diy tut's on 420 check them out, simple.

Twelve12 i never knew they had been crossed just check it out and there are banks selling them, oh well still cant wait that is if purps is male of course. I had a bit of trouble with getting hold of DJ Shorts and have been ripped off not sure if you have read but ill explain.

All of DJ's varietys have mutant phenotypes with the crinkle leaf defect from an old school chocolate thai.
These are usually the best specimens but this is not always the case.
If you've sprouted 10 DJ seeds and have yet to see a mutant variation, red/purple all the way to a deep chocolate color stalks and petioles chances are you've been ripped off.

I payed over £100 for 10 Blueberry all germinated the same with no traits i was told to look out for, all grew to be absolutly GREEN with no blue i made a complaint along with many others, in the end DJ short release he had never sold to the bank i got them from, i got a full refund and 10 free seeds, boy they had an "ATTITUDE". ;)

Anyways there are a few that claim to have the genuin and i have been advise from someone who grows DJ S that seedboutique has his genetics < not sure if thats breaking rules. The thing is iv read realy BAD things from them so.

Edit: This might of changed since i ordered..
