Looking the part, gonna fill that trellis so fast in the next week or so if it’s anything like the other journals I see. How did it feel to lollipop? I done a huge defoliation on my last grow, but only removing leaves, week 3 in flower, but couldn’t bring myself to ever lollipop.
Ooooh yes only 1 can hope. From talking to glookies one I might even hold off flowering now but we will see and let the plants tell me for once lol. Lolli popping is horrible! Literally nasty! Supercropping also is scary as fk! Feeling the stems crunch between your fingers is not kl! Lol.
Will defo defolaliate again before the end. I took a fair bit of greenery this time round. Will gauge how they bounce back to when I do it again

I’m getting here just in time for the fun part! Looking great so far
Cheers bro! More than welcome. We will see how things are this evening

Week 6 day 39
So for today's update 2 days after super cropping, lollipopped and trellis the plants have come back surprisingly well. Today I have continued to tuck the colars under and some of leaves, other leaves though now I can see what's going on at the top were cut away to give direct light to some of nodes. I am surprised at how many there are! One plant is just going so so slow and falling way behind I just cant seem to see what's wrong with her.

Some of the plants are showing very slight tip burn so I'm thinkingthe roots are now hitting the very outside of the pots where the nutrient spikes are or there is a deficiency creeping in. I'm not sure as of yet but I will keep my eyes peeled!

For now I think I might just hold off flipping them and add a second tear to my trellis I wont fold them under anymore just let them come up and use the first layer of trelis as my base and the second to spread and get light penetration. I have also lowered the 400w metal halide to 2ft above the canopy

I top dressed today with 20ml charge and palm tree ash I really want to start getting the potassium levels up now before it's too late.

Tomorrow will be sprout tea full of enzymes and hormones mixed in with some silica, bio wetter and superthrive to really kick these girls up the ars!

My clones I took on Wednesday seem to have taken really well and already some are standing back up! They are sitting at 20°c and as much humidity as I can get in there under a 300w CFL as far aways as I can get it running 24hours atm.

Week 6 day 40.
This was last night's update but time for away from me and by the time I knew it, it was 1:30am. So here was what's going on!

Its friday so it was watering day the girls were looking for it aswell just like clockwork! I had my 2 ltr Seed Sprout Tea at the ready and my pre-mixed solution of: 30ltrs water
15ml bio silica
10ml bio wetter
4ml katana roots
1ml super thrive

I then combined the 2 together which made a very thick looking feed and I'm hoping it's not too strong. I then watered this all in with another 30ltrs of water and with magnecal.

To get into the back of the trellis etc I made up from a cheap water pump and hose a shower like set up that I could evenly give the girls a drink even at the furthest points under the trellis. This worked well but I had no way of telling how much water each plant got and I'm going to have to put my hands up and say one maybe two plants got over watered :(. I have a plan for next time.

I also used the seed sprout tea mush that's left as a top dressing and introduces another 250g of tiger worms and 350g of nightcrawlers to increase the work force.

One thing I did see which I'm a bit concerned about is purple on the stems! Is this where I have taken the ties off the plants and they are moving upward or Is this again a deficiency? I have added most things back to them in there feed and have a rocking foliar spray ready today so we will see.

My plan is to have a colar for every square on the trellis and so far it looks very achievable. Lights will not be flipped for another week I reckon.

Week 6 day 41.

Just a quick one this morning. Just opportunity I've had to foliar which I've been dying to give considering the amount of stress that's been happening the last week.

1ltr mix:
500ml evolution
500ml water
1ml magnecal
1ml bio silica
1ml bio wetter

Noticed a couple of interesting tops today. I will call them medusa tops. 4 tops all together with 2 more slightly down but very close. Almost a fim. There are at least 3 of these per plant!

Anyway time to leave you guys and the girls alone for the weekend! See you all in week 7!

Week 7 day 43.

Back to see the girls today and another growth spurt seeing all there faces shining up and saying hello. I have pretty much filled the trellis now after today's training. There are higher areas and lower areas but all within around 1-2" of each other. I've installed the second layer of of the trellis, idea behind it is first layer to support and organise what I have second layer to separate collars and get them all to an even canopy ready for flowering. I'm gunna say end of this week I will be going to flip into flowering. In the next couple of days I'll be moving over to a dual spectrum hps at 600w for a few days before going to a full flowering hps and 12/12.

Over all I'm happy with the girls there are tops everywhere! I'm just concerned that they are really thin and weedy still. I wonder just how much they beef up during the flowering stage. And weather it's worth keeping the tiny little pips that have formed under the canopy around an inch under. Are they worth keeping?? Check the photo and let me know what you think.

Yes, they are worth keeping. Be patient... it's not till the last 2 weeks that they truly get impressive.
What about the little didly pips under the canopy will they do anything I doubt they will even get through the canopy? (Last picture)

it depends on your style. If you are strictly into the best bud you can grow and nothing else matters, then chop all that stuff below the canopy totally bare... let all the energy go to the top.
Or, you can let it all grow out. The difference between the top and the bottom growth quality wise is impossible to discern in most cases, and you still get nice buds at the top. You also get a lot of little popcorn bud at the bottom that is good for everyday smoke, cookies, oils, etc. It would take a side by side of identical plants to decide if one way or the other gives you more bud weight or quality.

Awesome! I'm defo going to let anything that's in on or has a position in the canopy come up but little tiny tiny things at the bottom. Meh I'll pass on that I think. We will see I may just leave one plant and see how it turns out.
Cheers for the advise emilya as always!

Week 7 day 45.
Everything is running nicely the plants have lapped up with drink well and truly and now looking thirsty again. We did the very very last bit of training today by spreading everything out a bit again.

Tomorrow we will be going to flower!!! Dun dun duuuuunnnnn!
I have decided that the nets are now full and not gunna give me much more. Some of the collars are getting a bit tall and touching the second trellis so it's time to flip otherwise I'm gunna have problems later on.

All the knuckles have now former from the supercropping and the stems are getting hench!

I started a all rounder tea today which is a mixture of veg but also flowering to get those microbes in there now rather than later. I added:
2ltrs fish tank water
2ltrs pond water
5ml magnecal
20ml biobizz bloom
20ml banana peel ferment
5ml lactobacillus
10ml biobizz fish mix
10ml liquid seaweed
1tbls mollasus
1tbls seaweed meal
1tbls multi purpose fert
1tbls palm tree ash
1/2 tbls bat guano
1/2 tbls oyster shell meal
1tsp rock dust
1tsp fish blood and bone
2 handfuls of soil
1 handful of worm casts

This is a super mix of everything and probably a bit too much into one tea but hey there gunna need everything for the stretch so we shall see how it turns out. It's all brewed for 48hours then, all of this mixture is then added to 30ltr bucket.

Tomorrow I will take some of the leaves out and some of the unwanted under growth before I flip them over to 12/12.
My humidity is sitting low so i know my girls are thirsty. Although I cant get my humidity over 45, this should be good for when I flower!

I have have smoked a fatty while I was with them and kinda forgot to take any other picture than of the knuckles. I will get them for you guys tomorrow!

Week 7 day 46.

Today has been the day!!!! We are now starting the exciting explosive stage FLOWERING! switched to 12/12, now with the HPS bulbs and running them up at 600w. I'm not expecting much for at least a week while the transition starts. I did a little defoliation today removing and little pips of collars starting under the canopy and removing some of the big fan leaves casting a little too much shade.

The lights are now hanging at 18" I hope that's not too close I put my hand out for the 60 seconds and not too hot. I'm still managing 22°c on the top the the canopy so I think they will be ok.

The tea is brewing nicely and will be going on tomorrow evening. Along with a good water. I've purchased a soil moisture metre to help me out knowing when the girls are thirsty as I'm a bit restricted being in a trellis set up.

Week 7 day 47.
Just a quick update to bring week 7 to an end.
All girls watered today they were alot more dry that I thought! Had to slow the watering down alot to allow the soil to re-hydrate rather than pissing strait out the bottom and sides. All girls have been given around the 6 ltrs mark this was a big lot of water as from now on I wont be running them as dry as I would in veg I will now be doing 2 waters per week instead I think especially when flowering is in full swing. I also purchased a cheap soil moisture indicator to help me out. The tea I have been brewing also went in with the mix I also added in some ignition, bio wetter, katana roots and liquid seaweed. The girls look happy but over half of the plants are now looking almost yellow in the centre of the tops where new growth is coming out. I reckon its either the lights or just the hps bulbs making everything look yellow.

That's it for today light is still currently at 20" from the canopy at 21°c / 70°f I will leave it at this height for now. As I'm not sure where the sweet spot is.

Yh that's a good chart and what I'm using as a guide. But is it the best thing to get your light as close to the tops of your plants as possible? Im still only at 21°c so temps are not a problem. Are there any negatives to having your lights as close as possible?

My hps also has a boost setting when would you kick this in?

With HID heat is always a problem, and with a good light meter you can easily see where you are at with this chart lumens wise and then go from there. The rule that if it is not too hot for your hand, the plants can handle it, is a good one, but not always accurate with every plant. A lot also depends on the quality of the light disbursement of your hood and its ability to block the heat from the light. I ran a high quality Raptor hood and ran a separate air exchange just for the hood, where I could get right up next to the glass with my top buds. Weighing the cost of bulbs and the lifespan, I tended not to use the boost feature, and keep in mind that one of things you do to signal the end to the plants is to start weaning off the light, or even raising it a bit at the end.

Sweet! I mean the bulbs are not that expensive so I might go full out and give them 600+boost during the main flower then as you said lower back down to the 600 and raise away at the end. I'm ok where I am now I will let them grow up and into the light until it reaches 24°c and hold it there raising the light but keeping the temp steady. I want bricks for buds not balloons haha!

Week 8 day 49

Everyone is looking happy! All the tops seem to be very pale still but as they grow larger they green up I havent seen this before maybe it's due to hps for the first time and looks this way under the orange light.

I carried on tucking and spreading the collars out that are now hitting the second tier, trying to get even spacing if i can. The problem I have is that this plant is so bushy that the lower colars keep getting covered up. It's not a bad thing but a few might get culled in a couple weeks for the final defoliation which is definitely happening as I have moisture forming where leaves are crossing over one another.

Lights are now set at 18" to the centre lowest collars. The way I have trained my plants by pulling them down when they were younger I have managed to get taller collars on the outside of the net and shorter ones in the middle. I am hoping by doing this due to less light going to the edges I can combat that by being able to bring my light closer to the centre but giving a real intense light to all of my collars. I have drawn a diagram below to describe my method of thinking. Would be good to see what you guys think.

The root ball is well and truly formed which is amazing news. And using the moisture tester I can now see that the top third of my soil is drying out very quickly and gets gradually wetter as it goes down. My method from now on will be to water instead of 6ltrs once a week spread it over the week in different waters 2-3 times a week instead this way I can keep the top areas more moist and the bottoms not as wet. Plants are not showing any dislike to what is happening now but I think they will benefit more from this especially coming into flower now.

I’ve grown this out. Bushy is an understatement.

Every bud site will try to become a branch.

Don’t be afraid to trim the undergrowth on this strain.
