Glimmer Grows More Autos - Blue Dream - Amnesia & Dark Devil In Coco With MH/LEDs

Dude, it's been the most amazing day.

1. Nomination (WTF)

2. Crop King Seed journal contest (totally unexpected -- they had over 40 journals to review, I didn't think I realistically stood a chance).

3. And best of all -- we finally got the call about an hour ago that my darling Mr Glimmer will get his cataract removed in less than a month! He's been waiting for a disgracefully long time, getting blinder and blinder, to the point where he cannot read (and reading, for both of us, is like breathing). But today, we have a date and it's going to get fixed!

It is a day of miracles, my friends -- and I'm so very happy!

Much joy to you all ...

All caught up again, I don't know why I let my favourite journals get so far behind. Actually I do, I have so many subs on my list, some get lost.

I see nothing but good things in your future, flowers look awesome, that Dark Devil is gonna be a heart breaker in a couple of weeks.

Congrats on your MOTM nomination, it is well deserved. :circle-of-love:

I started my new journal. The link is in my signature line. I'm in planning mode and I'd like you to join me. Hope to see you there.

Thank you so much dear! I have the same problem with journals -- there are so many great ones and I'm lousy at managing my subscriptions :)

Bless you, dear beast :) I do love this plant -- I have absolutely fallen in love with it. What an incredible thing it is, that we and it are joined by our respective chemistries.

Congratulations on the nomination GG! Well deserved!

Thanks, lexort! He's so much happier now (and so am I) -- it's always hard seeing someone you love suffer and there was so little I could do for him except read small print and drive in the dark :) He's a proud person, and that was hard for him.

Heh heh heh -- Pigeons' it is, my friend! And thank you for your continuing kindness ...

So happy for you Glim!!
You always send amazing energy out! Glad to see it coming back to you.

That DD is something else hey!!
 :passitleft:

Thanks WS! It's a good time, right now. Gotta enjoy it while it's here and remember that the universe loves us ...

Hey, karambit -- welcome! Thanks so much for your kind comments! I'm now obsessed with coloured cannabis -- I keep researching different strains and wanting to try them all at once :)

Congrats on the nomination gg!! And so happy for you and your spouse to be able to get his health taken care of and able to live life a little better everyday once the procedure takes place!!

Dark devil looks great! Mine is 19 days old today and I have that wonderful thing to look forward to!

Thank you, Camo! The operation is so quick and the results immediate, from what I know of my Mum's cataract journey -- the hard thing has been waiting. Health care varies so much from area to area, and in our province, we happen to live in the place where people are waiting the longest for this operation. It's amazing how much it helps, just having a scheduled date, though. You can look at the calendar and say, "Well, it's just 24 days now" instead of staring at a future that looks endlessly bleak.

The Dark Devil journey is a really cool one -- I think even if one had done many, many grows, one couldn't fail to be captivated all over again by the special colours and smells of this strain. It's hard to be blasé about such a plant!

YAYAYAYAYAY!! I'm really glad you're doing this. I do think it will make a great transition back into your home life and all that means. I also have somewhere to (selfishly) get my SweetSue fix! And planning is one of the best things ever :)

Tiny update:

Some thoughts or observations on female pollen production: The Amnesia XXL's change is really coming along. It's very interesting. Because the plant was so far along in flowering before I started treating her bud site (maybe 2 weeks into flowering? Hard to tell with autos) she is converting her pistils into staminate flowers rather than growing staminate flowers from the beginning. It would be best, as all the advice says, to start the process right when you see the first pre flowers. Then all her energy would go into producing the staminate flowers from the very beginning, rather than converting the pistillate ones. At least that's what I (definitely not a botanist) think :)

But if you are going to start this treatment this late on a plant, definitely use a higher bud site, closer to the light and unshaded by other branches. The Amnesia is so far ahead of the other two it's amazing. I can see clear male flowers now, which may actually produce real, dusty pollen (toker69 describes the pollen from male flower sacs as "dusty" and the pollen from nanners as "clumpy" and somewhat less viable - he notes that he gets both kinds when producing female pollen by colloidal silver treatment).

I need to keep an eye on her now, to try to catch her before the sacs open. I'm watching first for the clear form of the male flower to emerge, as it is now. Then I'm watching for the ripening colour change -- from photos I see the male flowers start to get more orange or tawny as they approach ripeness. My goal is to let the male parts go for at least another week, before cutting off the branch and keeping it in water to ripen fully. I will then collect the pollen, if there is any.

If things go wahooni-shaped, and the Amnesia XXL pollinates the plants in the tent, then at least I'll know who the daddy was, and I'll keep track of the crosses :)

Here's what she looks like today:

And here are a couple of shots of the other two plants in situ -- I love the contrast between the DD in front and the BD in back. The Amnesia has the fattest colas coming (as I expected from the breeder's description), next is the DD which is looking really good and the BD is quite sativa-like (so I gather from having seen sativa flower photos) -- long, more slender clusters of fluffier flowers.

Wow gg I just agree with you so much in the dark devil. This is my first grow and I absolutely cannot wait to see dark devil big with those purple buds ! Now of course I'm excited to see in plant get fully grown and have some fat trichy buds but the DD is just breath taking.

I am soo excited for you and this journey you are on with seeds ! Amensia looks like the quality she-male!! Hopefully you can catch her/him opening up the sacs and get he cutting separated to control pollination.
