Glimmer Grows More Autos - Blue Dream - Amnesia & Dark Devil In Coco With MH/LEDs

Glimmer thanks.and great beans love the name ;) top work keep it up;)

The strain's "official" name is Summer Love, which is very pretty :)

Yes Glimmer,

I am definitely anxious to see how the pollination works. I would like to try to produce my own autoflowering seeds as well. You'll definitely have to post a journal growing with seeds you create. PLEASE!!!!!

There's some progress in turning the girls -- update coming in a moment!

Buddha Seeds offers a few different strains of reg autoflowers Deimos/Magnum/Red Dwarf/and Syrup, so doesTropical Seeds Company has Kushmatic and Sensi Seeds also has Ruderalis Skunk. So the options to produce your own autoseeds is out there. not as much commitment with the reg autos as well no where as much veg time and males apparently pop up at about the second or third week of growth.

Fascinating -- that's great to know, Spart! Thank you so much!

That Love Auto sounds wonderful for a tasters garden, and how pleased am I to hear you're going to do that. Interested in some azalea pots? I have so many I can easily share. PM me if you're interested. I think I had to buy 50, and I haven't used more than a dozen of them. They're sturdy and are easy to reuse. I'm determined to make good on my plan to relocate somewhere West and legal this year, so I'm cleaning house when I get back there.

I'm growing for oil though, and my sativas need to come in at a minimum of 20% THC, so that one won't make the grade for oil at 17%. The mix of perfumes sounds enticing though. I envy you. :battingeyelashes:

Yeah, you need something a wee bit stronger, eh? :) You know what half a teaspoon of canna butter does to ME so I don't have that problem :lot-o-toke: I would LOVE some azalea pots -- I will send you a PM. Thank you!

Great, another strain to add to the list. I've no idea how anyone can pick a favorite. I can't imagine I'll be able to keep the 8 strains we'll have available straight without a consumption journal to reefer[sic] back to.

I'm gonna need another tent.

Obsession isn't supposed to be contagious.

:)

Bwah hah hah ... I think that's what this place actually is, ultimately -- a place where we catch the obsession from each other ... I remember reading a thread by a chap who had collected 100s of strains of cannabis seeds. I thought it was overkill at the time, but now I totally understand :) Each seed contains the possibility of a huge range of experiences -- from the growing to the curing to the consuming -- it's the possibilities that make my mind reel!

Hahaha i knew you would catch the growing bug GG!

I didn't stand a chance, lexort, my friend, did I?

Ooo an auto love for Mrs.GG! That's awesome, I may have to get my hands on some of that. Especially since you say it has social anxiety relief in the strain. That's one thing I would love to have in a strain, big groups and loud places just don't sit too well with me !

Oh, I feel for you, Camo! Anxiety relief is huge for both Mr Glimmer and myself. We're both introverts (painfully so, in slightly different situations, thank god) and I am super sensitive (neuro-atypically) to noise. Love Potion #1 is right at the top of my list for this so having an auto strain of it, from the original breeder, is an extraordinary opportunity for us. I'm going to pop one of the seeds in my Small Pots grow, which will be up next!

SEED PRODUCTION UPDATE!!!!

So excited. I CAN SEE TESTICLES! (We growers always talk about girly bits, so it's lovely to chat about juicy, sexy boy bits for a while :))

BACKGROUND: I have been spraying only one bud site on each of the three auto fem plants with a 60 ppm solution of colloidal silver twice a day since New Year's Eve. It's now the 12th day of treatment. I have focused the spraying only on the bud site and pistils, trying to avoid the leaves to minimize the damage and stress to the plant.

I've been noticing something going on for days -- the shrivelling of the treated pistils has been more and more noticeable. Yesterday I thought I saw something funky going on on the Amnesia XXL. Today, it's clearer:

TESTICLES! STAMINATE PARTS! SHE's A LADY BOY!

To help you see whats changed, here's a developing bud at about the same level that has not been treated:
IMG_65905.JPG

This is quite early, from what I've read. In toker69's thread on cs and making auto fem seeds, he didn't see signs of the change until 14 days at the earliest. The Amnesia is well ahead of the other two, because I picked a more developed flower site that's higher on the plant and therefore closer to the light. The treated part of this branch will be removed and then I will try to produce seeds in the many pistillate bud sites on the lower part of this branch. I may not have enough time, but the Amnesia is the strain in the tent with the longest flowering time so we'll see what happens. I also only had the one seed for it, so I have more motivation :)

Blue Dream's point of treatment and a photo of an untreated bud site at the same level (very low on the plant). I have two more BD seeds so may just try to collect pollen this time round.

Dark Devil's point of treatment and an untreated bud site. Again, I have two more DD seeds so may just try to collect pollen.

And, finally, my first plant in organic soil -- CAT CANNABIS! (nepeta cataria) This is the strongest seedling of the four ... put in the organic soil from my local hydro store with a good amount of perlite at the bottom for extra drainage. It's in a 1 gallon smart pot (love this size).

May all your gardens bring you joy today!

For those of you near a Lee Valley Tools, especially in Canada (not sure about elsewhere) they have an introductory special right now on the Mondi propagation dome, tray and thermo/hygrometer package: less than $20 in store until Jan. 27, when it goes up to 29.50 (Canadian). Just check the gardening section.

The 7" high propagator dome provides plenty of room for seedlings to grow, and has two adjustable vents to let you control airflow and heat. The 21" x 11" tray is 2-1/2" deep and has a raised pattern on the bottom to keep pots above the water as well as permit air circulation. Made of sturdy HDPE plastic, the tray and dome will last for many seasons of use; the tray is also rigid enough to carry seedlings to the garden when they’re ready for planting out.

The compact thermometer/hygrometer can be mounted to the propagation dome to monitor humidity and temperature inside while displaying current results on an LCD screen on the outside. At the push of a button, it gives min/max readings so you can see if conditions remain stable when you’re not there to check. Supplied with instructions and a drill bit for mounting it to the dome, the removable gauge has a hang hook and stand for use in other applications, such as checking conditions in a greenhouse or storage area. Hygrometer/thermometer unit runs on one included button-cell battery.

It's a great deal and I thought I'd share :) Mr Glimmer bought me one the other day and I'm going to use it for germinating/seedlings for my next grow!

looking good there GG, great gardening :high-five:

i didnt realise that our grows were so close :)
hopefully we'll be giving intense smoke reports together :Namaste:

Good Morning Glimmer!

Ive been so busy lately that I haven't had time to wonder around and stare at the wanders of your garden. I hope all is well and you're keeping warm.

As always the plants look marvelous! Keep it up!! I'm cheering for you!

Absolutely astonishing Beast!! I hope you take some time to pat yourself on the back and remind yourself what kind of talents you possess! Man those look delicious!

 :adore: :high-five:

Nice update gg!!! That is awesome that amnesia is already coming along for you and produce balls!!!!! Best of luck with pollination and I am overly excited to see this experiment! And then the grow with the seeds you harvest from this grow ;) ;) :)

Thanks, Camo! She's doing really well -- only time will tell if the rather hermie-like growths become proper staminate flowers or if they produce viable pollen, but it's quite amazing to see this. It would be a thrill to grow out seeds I produced myself ...

Hey GG! Nice update, interesting stuff making lady men. Congrats on the propagator, our partners and feeding our obsessions huh?

Thanks, Mello! I'm very grateful that my husband, who has very little interest in things horticultural, is so interested in the cannabis growing project. He tends to support whatever goofy hobby I have at the moment, which is really nice of him and we try to get involved in each others hobbies. He builds scale railways -- doing all of the wiring and track laying and I do the structures, lighting and landscaping, for example. We're pretty co-dependent :)

Yay, smoke reports! Yeah, we're very close, aren't we brother? I am really looking forward to harvesting these guys, especially the DD, which just gets more interesting looking with every day.

No you did not glimmergrass! Lol its a good thing though lol :tokin:

Totally, lexort :) :high-five:

Aw, now you're just torturing me with the photos of that Durban Poison, beast :) I will be there for the harvest -- couldn't keep me away!

Hey, Pigeons! Not to worry, we're all busy, but the love is always there. I think of my 420magazine friends all the time now, even when I can't visit their gardens :) It's interesting how personality comes through the written word -- it's always filtered a bit but it's pretty clear. I think I'd recognize you all if I met you :)

7 WEEKS OLD -- UPDATE

My three girls are 50 days old today! Very smelly and delicious :) Here's their weekly photo update:

AMNESIA XXL

She looks a little less goofy to me, but she's still a bit wonky. When I look under her canopy, I see that her stem is canted over coming out of the coco -- an artifact of the fact that she sprouted a bit too much in the paper towel back at her germination, I think. But she's a good girl and definitely her colas are bigger and firmer than any of the other plants in the tent.

IMG_66176.JPG
IMG_661811.JPG

Here's the treated bud tip, on day 15 of colloidal silver turning. It makes a huge difference having treated a bud that's closer to the top of the plant -- if you're under time constraints (say, if you want to self pollinate a plant) then this may be the way to go. I don't see male parts on any of the other tips, although I'll be alert for them, but interestingly, there are male parts coming below the spray area on this one stem -- about an inch below, there are male parts and then, below that, there are just pistils.

BLUE DREAM

Coming along nicely. Lovely smell.

IMG_662210.JPG

Treated bud tip -- pollen-bearing parts definitely visible now. I doubt if I'll be able to pollinate this plant with her own pollen, but if I do get viable pollen from her, I will pollinate on my next BD grow.
IMG_66238.JPG

DARK DEVIL

She's so pretty. The smell is UNBELIEVABLE -- the strongest smelling plant in the tent. The developing colas aren't as firm or large as the Amnesia but that smell is incredible.

IMG_66258.JPG
IMG_662611.JPG

Treated bud site. Well behind the other two, but it's also the lowest treated site on any of the plants. Again, I don't think she'll be able to pollinate herself, but if I do get viable pollen I'll save it for my next DD grow :)
IMG_66289.JPG

You all are just getting me closer and closer to a dark devil grow! Every time I see her I'm like what is that? Oh DD again. Gotta get some. Would be my first auto plant!

That's how I got seduced into growing the strain -- SweetSue and LEDRF and various people were growing this plant and it just took my breath away because of its colour. Then I heard their smoke reports and thought, "I have to try this". It's just an incredibly charismatic plant :)

And I understand that autos can be really great filler plants for photoperiod growers -- you can basically put one anywhere and she'll do just fine.

I was thinking that. She could just sit in my veg area and be a flowering plant to look at and tend to during the time when my flower room is on dark cycle. That would be so nice and maybe would stop me from overpopulating my veg room like I always do.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing.

And glimmer, some fine looking photos man. Looks good
