GiGaBaNE's 3rd & Final Journal - At Least Until I Change Country

my guy didnt get his stock untill late so i was informed 'it will have t be in the morning now'...i have serious motivation to not be awake till he is, lol.

i cheated and took a few more leaves off my indica to get me through the night.

if im mentally prepared for a dry spell i can handle it, but if i was expecting to smoke on any given day and then i cant...i hate the world, lol.

Erm, how does that even work? I mean, will they even burn (moist?)

naw, you just stick em under the grill for a couple of mins. even when i got bud coming out of my ears ill still use the leaves as a replacement for tobbaco, lol.

Ooooh...me likey :thumb:

GiGaBaNE's Perpetual journal.

Main Grow (day 97) shocked and delayed as much as possible while growing the autos.
Fast Auto's (day 27) Active and entering flower
NL Auto (day 27) Active and veging slowly

Main Grow

Main grow now consists of 2 plants, both of which are twisted frankensteins of their natural selves. whilst this does not look great, its a small sacrifice compared to the knowledge gained.

My Dela haze no1 AKA the topping plant, formerly known as prince, er i mean the monster  is R.I.P =(
it was chopped back just way too small and when it hit that hot soil it burned the roots beyond rescue.

My dela haze no2 doesnt look great, but at least its still alive and will give me a few more clones before it either dies or flowers.
no point in making another picture for this as it looks exactly as it did in its last photo opportunity, lol

my landrace indica that has been chopped topped and tortured now looks like this and is quite healthy and eager to grow despite my best efforts to the contrary, lol

AUTO's

2 of my auto's are in gigapots, but this is only because i ran out of other matching pots and i dont have the resources to buy a half dozen more of the gigapots and all the soil to match.
apart from them, my autos have been put in size order from shortest to tallest. interestingly the fast bud i started nearly 48 hours before the rest is in 2nd place when it comes to development oO
If my lights bloody hurry up and get here the plan is to have 1 6500k cfl per plant, then use my extra ones on the shorter, less developed plants to help them catch up..im hoping that once they do, i will replace all 65k with 27k and spread them out as evenly as possible. last 2 pics are of my biggest auto...Pistils!! =D

Clones

Not a lot to report here so far. managed to move them into perlite. and they havnt died yet, lol
3 clones sharing 1 pot for now (reclaimed from my RIP sativa)

bottom pic has to be the worlds smallest MJ clone( 1 node, 1.5 cm of stem in total)....and its working!

DWC

I now have a PH pen and have now changed from straight tap water mixed with full strength seaweed (which measured in a 7.5PH!) to tap water with 50% strength seaweed and 50% strength Phostrogen (which i have just discovered has a hydro grow guide so i have some reading to do, lol) and is now PH balanced to 6.0-6.1. (my soil drink is just seaweed @100% and PH 6.3)

1 random clone 2 random clone 3 clone from the 'monster' 4 haze no 2

and now the good news, well for me at least.
My monsters vigor remains in my genetic catalogue!
Please say hello to my bonzai clone of the monster sativa! She lives again!!

None of my other DWC has any real change from the day i put them in the dwc's
But this little beauty is working wonders.
Now bear in mind that this is only 5 days in a dwc of seaweed at ph 7.5...
Look at the new root growth! this beauty REALLY wants to live =D

This picture doesnt actually do it justice. with the naked eye it looks to be at least 25% new root growth in just 5 days in all the wrong conditions.

there we go...update done =D

May I just say, for the update, setup and results...and just for your pure mad creative genius..

REPS!!! :thumb:

I thoroughly enjoyed reading that Giga. And the pics are awesome. I'm looking at the landrace indica; there's me worrying about some basic LST and this beastie is well and truly an example of just how far you can take it! I am fascinated to see what all the growth looks like by the time she has grown a bit more.

I get my fix of the weird and wonderfully creative here, I do so admire you!

agreed. just called him up and he said his guy further up the chain let him down and he will let me know....so im off to bed for an hour to sulk, lol.

This is what I do, and its a PROPER sulk! :)

Sorry for the diversion...I saw this and thought of you! :)

Hello Giga. I'm glad to see everything moving along. I see you got some perlite too! The pH pen is good news... I try to keep my hempies at 5.8 pH. Whenever I go higher, I get a manganese lockout. Since you are in DWC, it may be more forgiving.

I think that pH issues affect the leaves more so than the roots. My manganese issues did not show up until my mothers started getting a little age on them, then the clones that they put off started showing the same deficiency right away. Since we are on the subject, let me tell you how this happened to me in the first place. The nutrient water that I was using at around pH 5.9-6.0 was working well to begin with and after a while I got too comfortable for my own good. When I started getting the deficiency I checked my nute mix again and was getting conflicting results. To make a long story short, I found that my pH pen reads low if the water is cool/cold. I have started storing water in jugs so they can warm up to room temp. When my nute jug runs out and I mix a new batch with my room temp water, I check the pH then and again 24 hours later. As my mix was warming up it was running around 6.3-6.4. Now that I learned to mix ahead, the problem has been resolved.

thats VERY interesting kimmy! my water sits in a big tank in the attic, so i dont need to let it stand to dechlorinate....so i run it freezing cold, mix my nutes in and leave it to stand for half hour before testing the PH .

i think i will have to check the ph several times, both in length of time left stood and in temprature. im still very new to water growing.
i am suppose to replace the water tommorow, but i go to work in like 3 hours for a 1 day contract, lol. hope im not too tired to do it afterwards...ill test the old water before i chuck it to see what happened to the PH after standing for 48 hours in a 75-80f room ;)
