GG7's Indoor/Outdoor Grows!

Outstanding Goose! I am wondering if you could get some pics of when you open the seeded pods up? Do you let them dry as normal before seed extraction occurs?

Looking great goose!

Thanks MS! :)

I will make an attempt to photo document the checking of the buds for seeds. This is a first for me, since I have never deliberately pollenated any of my plants before.

I am going to be drying all this stuff out as I normally would, but will probably continue to dry the bud beyond the usual amount since as I said...I don't plan to keep any of this for future consumption. I've got plenty from last year on hand, as well as what we will be harvesting from this year's grow later, so I am not hurting for bud at this point. ;)

The rain won't be here till tomorrow night, so I am going to give the last two another day before the chop. Stay tuned for another photo update tomorrow as I chop the last two mother plants. :)

Last Two Mothers Harvested!
GDP and Blue Cheese Buds Now Hang Drying

Here are some photos of the harvest...Not the usual 3 inch diameter buds, but they are still nice and frosty and will hopefully have some seeds in them. :)

Everything is hang drying in our primary drying closet now, and within the next week or so, we should know if we have some seeds in those buds.

Stay tuned for our next update when we move all the remaining clones outside to officially begin our 2012 outdoor grow! :)

hey Goose my Friend! nice harvest and I hope they are loaded with quality seeds for you!

That is going to be such an interesting set of crosses for you! :thumb:
I am extremely excited to see what they become. Do you have plans on dropping any of the new beans this season?
I am also curious how those seeded buds smoke for you in comparison to non-seeded bud.

Keep it up and really nice going :high-five:

:peace: Brotha!

Hey MS!

If we do end up getting some beans from these mother plants, I'm probably not going to plant any of those seeds until next season. 11 plants is about all I am willing to deal with this year since we have more than doubled our pepper planting this season not to mention our usual Tomato crop, so space is a consideration.

I may change my mind of course depending on how much work all the currently growing Cannabis, Tomatoes and Jalapenos prove to be over the next few months. :)

2011 GDP Havest Revisited

Just wanted to offer a few photos of the MMJ I have been partaking on lately. This is the Bud from (GDP #1 2011 - See last year's journal entires) and these photos were taken earlier this morning. For scale purposes, the container in the first photo is a 2 Quart Canning Jar with the buds on a professional bakery sized sheet pan.

This bud has been curing in our pitch black drying closet for almost 6 months. The high medicinal effects from this bud is incredible! Through a bong the smoke is very smooth with hints of wild flowers and a toasted caramel finish. The effects take hold within about 5 seconds of the bowl, and the narcotic like high wil last between 30-120 minutes. I have been having a refresh about every 40 minutes to maintain the perfect balance.

This strain is wonderful for pain control, and has a very pleasing THC/CBD balance.

We shall see if this year's crop, that are clones of the plant that produced this great bud, will deliver in spades for a second time in a row!

Just beautiful my friend.....they look very sticky........maybe a NOTM in there!

Thanks Old Man! You think so? Seriously? Hadn't considered entering any of these into a contest, but now you got me a thinkin! LOL!

I featured GDP #1 because in my opinion, this is the PERFECT Indica buzz you can hope for! I've smoked a lot of Indica over the last 30 years, and this one plant managed to produce something truly remarkable! GDP #3 which was raised from the same stock, and was basically an indetical twin to #1 has a very different high. MUCH speedier. Think racing heartbeat, palpitations followed by a warm and fuzzy finish. Still... The racing heartrate thing I can totally do without! GDP #1 provides more of that warm and fuzzy feeling without all the initial caffeen rush, anxiety attack first!

Getting back to your NOTM suggestion.... Perhaps I will set up a photo shoot of the biggest "remaining" bud. I say remaining because I have already consumed the four biggest buds from this plant! LOL!

Anyway....Thanks for the input and I will seriously consider the NOTM idea! :thumb:

Thanks guys! I'll think about it. Thing is... Since the NOTM is all based on visuals, not sure those tiny little nugs would have a fighting chance. Ironically, I bet if I entered one of the big plump buds from GDP #3 it would have a better chance. That would be in spite of the fact that the high is a bit on the intense side.

No doubt the high level THC fans would love it! ;)

Weekend Update!
The 2012 Outdoor Grow Officially Begins!

The weather has really improved over the last week, so I decided to go ahead and move all the plants out to the back hill to begin our outdoor grow.

Here are a few photos:

All 11 plants are transplanted into 3.5 or 5 gallon Air Pots. The soil is Black Gold Waterhold Cocoblend. The nutes for the veg cycle will be Fox Farm Grow Big, GrowMore brand Seaweed Extract (free nitrogen) (PHed to between 6.2 - 6.8) alternated every 2 weeks in between conventional watering with our spring fed well water from the garden hose. (Unadjusted PH 7.2)

So... We now begin our 2012 outdoor grow! I will be updating the journal from time to time over the next month or so as the plants go through their summer veg process. All these plants will begin to enter their natural flower cycle towards the middle of July, so we shall see how big they get in the meantime!

Stay tuned for our next update over the coming weeks! :)

Lookin' good GG7! Nice lookin plants ya got there!

question: Forgive me if I've asked this before, but the GDPs, do you have a recurring Powdery Mildew problem with them? Mine seemed to have a few powdered leaves every few weeks, I'd spray with SNS: 244, and it'd come back. It was only after I put her into flower and ended her motherhood (she was to be a "clone factory") that I found your wondrous milk remedy that seemed to have worked after only 2 applications. She's been in flower for 51 days now, and no PM has reared its ugly head.

Hey Jandre!

Glad to hear that my Powdery Mildew recipe helped you out!

Here we generally don't run into a problem with that until late summer early fall when the conditions outside are more conducive to getting PM. The forest behind our house is a natural breeding ground for the stuff, so it is always a problem for us towards the end of the growing season.

I always use the milk solution on the plants at the first sign of trouble and it generally works well to get rid of the PM before it gets too established. During the summer veg season, the PM isn't a problem here because our weather conditions are dry enough that PM can't get going on anything in direct sunlight during the day.

Our PM problems always start around the middle of September through October and the usual harvest of everything around October 15th.

Glad to hear that you were able to save that plant! :)

Wow Goose, looks like you have been busy my friend :thumb:
They look wonderful. So when they are all outside like that, how does that effect your watering and feeding schedule?
I am sure you work around mother nature and all her splendid glory.

Hey MS! Thanks!

With this Cocoblend soil I am using, you don't need to water as often as with conventional soil, so I just go by how the plants are looking visually. If they start showing signs of low moisture I water them with the tap. Last year it worked out to every other day during the peak of the summer. I feed them with Fox Farm Grow Big every 7-14 days depending on where they are in the veg cycle.
