GDB's Thanksgiving Harvest

well i am glad the lime is doing it for ya , had to look it up had forgot it raises the Ph when needed .> Duh Oh well good day :bongrip:
Yeah, but in fairness, he used a machine or some fancy equipment (not sure which since he won't actually show us the Lazy Meter) to determine the issue and it's related fix. Your guess was based off of good old fashioned growing experience.

Sure, he got it right  this time, but will it work consistently? :hmmmm:

Hello all and happy Sunday morning!

In the 4x4 this morning, the Grandaddy Blacks have nearly reached the height of the Purple Dream again, but not quite. I measured the plant heights:

Purple Tahoe (back left sitting on a milk crate) 18 inches from soil to tip
Purple Dream (back right on the tent floor) 29 inches
GDB (front left on 3 beverage carriers) 18 inches
GDB (front right on 3 beverage carriers) 17.5 inches

It's Flip + 29 for the Purple girls and Flip + 14 for the GDBs.

I'm going to leave the all of the risers underneath the GDBs until they exceed the height of the Dream (if they ever do). If they stopped stretching right where they are I would be quite happy to leave everything as is for the duration of the grow.

For circulation, I put another fan in there, laying flat on the floor and blowing up through the greenery.

Here's a view through the side door:

In the 2x2, the Pineapple Express (Flip + 8) responded well to the dose of fast-acting lime. She has bounced back from our recent training session and evidently she's eating again!

She's on the road to recovery! :)

Lastly, I chopped and bagged the little Fruit Punch auto. In the end she gave me 17.5 grams and I'm not complaining. (That's 8.75 for me and 8.75 for @LKABudMan. :laughtwo:)

I smoked (yep, really "smoked") a tester and what a nice feeling. She had me staring at stuff and she tastes good too (already)!

She's as close as I'm going to get to a "Thanksgiving Harvest." :)

Everyone enjoy your Sunday! I should have a fairly good day as my home football team doesn't play the powerful Philadelphia Eagles until tomorrow night, when there may be carnage.

Thanks for stopping by.

PEACE

Hey GDB looks good, they look so healthy, glad they’re doing well.

How do you like those curing bags

Good Sunday evening all.

I took solo pics of the 4x4 gang tonight for my records. I thought I'd share them for those who might be interested.

Thank you for tolerating my 2nd post if this day. These pics will be helpful to me in grows to come.

Thanks 70s.

The bags work okay. I like the fact that they take up less space than jars.

Hello growers.

Disclaimer: If you have no interest in Grow Dots you may want to skip this post.

I've been thinking about how to get my plants on Grow Dots to the finish line looking green and healthy.

The first time I used Dots I lost most of the fan leaves by the end of the grow. This happened despite the fact that I supplemented the Dots with the Roots Organics dry nutrient, "Uprising Bloom." But I think I waited too long to start using it. This time I will start earlier on Dot day 58. That's where my Purple Tahoe is on her Flip + 30. The Bloom feed only requires bi-weekly top-feeds of 1-2 tsp for a 3 gallon pot, so it's not a bunch of extra work. I'll use a single teaspoon.

This time I'm hoping that these nutrients will have time to breakdown and become available before they are absolutely required.

In addition, I'll be adding another Roots Organics dry nutrient, "Uprising Foundation." This is made to be used in conjunction with their Bloom and Grow nutrients. When used together the manufacturer says to use a half dosage of each. So I'll be using .5 tsps of each.

The Bloom is rated 3-6-4. The Foundation is 2-1-1.

Hopefully these will provide what is needed to stave off the yellowing fan leaves and provide the plant all that she needs as the Grow Dots expire in the weeks to come.

The Grow Dot folks say their product is ideal for a 98-day grow cycle, 28 days of veg and 70 days of flowering. I expect that none of my Dotted plants will be done within that 98 day cycle so they'll need something to get them over the hump.

It the Purple Tahoe doesn't crash and burn I'll take this same approach with the Grandaddy Blacks when on or near their Dot day 60 (today is their Dot Day 40).

We'll see what happens. "Thinking" sometimes gets me into trouble! :)

@Carcass @DeeBoy

PEACE.

I have heard that too much nitrogen in flower effects bud size among other things. Going lightly is the way to go. I have just been letting the autos fade and I’m getting really good bud. Just not centerfold beautiful.

Thanks for the tag, GDB!
on Dot day 58.
Mine ran out of gas around Dot day 56, so your timing is might be right on...

I did a little reading on the Dots site this weekend, and adding more Dots is sort of ok- not really recommended, but it can be done, so I top dressed with 1 tbsp of Dots on Friday, and I'm kind of still waiting to see if it helped anything...I'm leaning toward "it didn't" so I'll probably add another tbsp. tomorrow morning, unless a miracle happens overnight....

ditto so thanks for doing the work lol

Hello all.

UPDATE ON THE 4x4 TENT GROUP

On their Flip + 16 (Day 63, Dot Day 42) the Grandaddy Blacks on the right have again reached the height of the Purple Dream (back left).

I'm saying, "Stop right there!" But they may not listen. Depending on what they do over the next few days I may need to remove a riser.

2x2 TENT

The Pineapple Express continues to mend on Flip + 10. The yellowing has stopped but it left some reminders that it had made an appearance. Still, she looks fairly content after a rough start.

And that's all I've got to show you.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Boo.

It's funny. I'm still a relatively new grower but back when I was a "really" new grower I tried for my first purple plant (Purple Lemonade auto) and got this:

Purple Lemonade.JPG

And now that I sort of know a bit more about how to go about growing these wonderful plants, I can't get a smidgen of purple out of a purple strain!:Rasta:
Damn bro them are some massive ass buds right there excellent job

Such long fingers on Pineapple express!
They are interesting looking Stone. I want to see it thrive! :)
the 4x4 looks like a sea of green from that pic Nice !!!Fingers is coming along nicely too :green_heart::peacetwo:
Thank you Smoke. Hope abounds! :)
Damn bro them are some massive ass buds right there excellent job
Thanks Marcus! And thanks so much for looking in. :Rasta:
Keep saying it until they stop and then you'll know it worked. :thumb:
I think it did! :Rasta:
Good job on the plants GDB, the garden's looking blooming!
Thanks so much Stunger!
Or 2... Looking great in there, GDB!
I think maybe not Carcass, much to my approval! :Rasta:

And now for a QUICK UPDATE:i

I believe the Grandaddy Blacks (flip + 18) heard me begging for them to stop stretching and decided to cooperate! I don't think I'm seeing any more upward movement from them. The purple girls (left) are on flip + 33.

I think can leave everything right where it is height-wise and just go into twiddling mode!
TG 11-17-22 F18-33.jpg

-----------
In the 2x2 the Pineapple Express (flip + 12) looks much happier but I'm still concerned about her. To really thrive I think she's going to need a bit more than that 2 gallon pot can offer. So tomorrow or the next day (depending on the soil moisture level) I'm going to up-pot her into a 3 gallon pot.
PE 11-17-22 F12.jpg

As always, I deeply appreciate any and all eyes that pass this way!

PEACE.
