GDB's Thanksgiving Harvest

Congrats on getting the 4x4 to homeostasis!
homeostasis, any self-regulating process by which biological systems tend to maintain stability while adjusting to conditions that are optimal for survival.

Damn. I didn't know I had done that! :)
I could never manage to fit a 2 gallon root ball in a 3 gallon pot! Getting the dirt into the tiny space between them is way too fiddly for me!
I've nothing better to do Shed! :)

I have heard that too much nitrogen in flower effects bud size among other things. Going lightly is the way to go. I have just been letting the autos fade and I’m getting really good bud. Just not centerfold beautiful.
That may be true DeeBoy.

But I am of the belief that no nitrogen during flower is not enough. And I think at some point during flower the Dots are providing "no" nitrogen.

Hello all.

LATE BREAKING NEWS.

This news is not late breaking in the sense that it just happened, but late breaking because I'm late breaking it. :laughtwo:
I was considering topping them again and cloning the cuts from the tops, but I don't want to do any clones right now.
I wrote the above statement in this thread on October 18th. Then about 3 days later I snapped a top branch of one of my Grandaddy Blacks. A clean snap, no repair possible.

As I held the suddenly separated branch I was torn. "Do I really want to just throw this away?"

The answer turned out to be no. So I broke out the solar-powered GDBCloner® and put her into service.

Here is that branch today:
GDB clonely 11-18-22.jpg

She's a sturdy little cut that is growing really well. I'm keeping her under a mini-LED that I use for seedlings and the light is on her 24/7.

Now, what do I do with her? Both of my tents are running 12/12 lighting and the basement tent is off limits until after the new year. I guess she'll be in that solo cup for a while!

Still, I'm glad I didn't toss her.

PEACE.

You could treat it like a bonsai mother?

Damn, she's a thick little thing...
Now, what do I do with her?
When she reaches about a foot tall, take a clone off of her, throw away what's left, and start again...
That way, you might be able to keep her under the seedling light until you're ready to grow her out...

Hello growers.

I've a few pics of the 4x4 group today on flip + 20 for the Grandaddy Blacks and flip + 35 for the Purple girls. Nothing to report. All the plants seem content and they're giving each other room. All have had their bottoms cleaned up (except for the large fan leaves which I leave on to fall off by themselves when ready) and the twiddling is on!

In the 2x2 the Pineapple Express (flip + 14) got up-potted this morning. I was mistaken when I said she was in a 2 gallon pot. She was actually in a 3g, so I moved her up to a 5 gallon using Fox Farms Happy Frog soil.

She was due her top feeds of Roots Organic nutes today. So when I prepped her pot yesterday I tossed in 1/2 teaspoon each of Uprising Bloom and Uprising Foundation and moistened them up. I also tossed in 3 tablespoons of insect frass.

She should be happier now.

Thanks for you attention.

Have you puffed a pineapple before? My Pineapple chunk was delightful! I bet your Express will be too!
Nope, this will be a first for me (to my knowledge). I've heard nice things about the PE and look forward to sampling it! :ganjamon:

Had to look up that insect frass stuff i didn't think you had bugs or was trying to keep away , sounds nasty must be good shit ! Ever use Fish Emulsion, bar guano !
I'm always trying to deter bugs Smoke! It's a fertilizer as well (3-2-2).

Thanks for stopping by! :Rasta:

Hello grow folks.

I was mistaken when I said she was in a 2 gallon pot. She was actually in a 3g, so I moved her up to a 5 gallon using Fox Farms Happy Frog soil.
One of the things about aging is that your brain slowly (if you're lucky) goes from a finely-marbled ribeye steak to a can of spam.

So as it turns out, I was mistaken when I said the PE was not in a 2 gallon pot. She was.

And the pot I prepped beforehand to up-pot her into was a 2 gallon pot as well! 🙄

And thus, I can't tell the difference between a 2g pot and a 3g pot unless they're sitting side by side.

So when I took the plant out to up-pot her and noticed the current pot and the "new" pot were the same size, I realized I was getting ever closer to the can of spam.

But rather than accurately deduce that both were 2g pots, the spam-to-be concluded that they were both 3g pots. (That's what they looked like to me!)

I grabbed what I thought to be a 5g pot and dumped the prepped contents into it.

A few hours after the up-pot I was piddling around with some of my grow gear in the basement and picked up an actual 5g pot. I thought, "Wait a minute. This is bigger than what I put the PE into."

Long story short (if that's still possible), the PE was up-potted to a 3g pot not a five.

And to all of you snickering young people out there, your day is coming! :Rasta:

The 4x4 is looking wonderful today, GDB!

the PE was up-potted to a 3g pot
And that was the original plan, right?
You sort of took the long way around, but you got it done..:thumb:

Literally my first lol for the day!

I've been twiddling here for days now. Welcome to the club!

Damn that has to be disgusting! Those are some of the nastiest bathrooms around.
She was actually in a 3g, so I moved her up to a 5 gallon
Much easier move I'd say.
I was mistaken when I said the PE was not in a 2 gallon pot. She was.
Still a nice Oh wait...

Gotcha. I'll be twiddling for the next update in this saga now!

Hello grow group.

My Sunday update is just a few pics.

There's not much to say about the plants. They're just cruising along.

I moved the Grandaddy Blacks to the rear of the tent and the Purple ones to the front. After that I raised the @Mars Hydro TS3000 a few inches so I could turn it all the way up. (It had been running at around 85%.) Plus it looked to me like the GDBs may have stretched just a tad bit more. Otherwise, I haven't done anything else other than keep them watered.

The Pics.
