Gardenfaerie Outdoor Organic Summer 2014 Flux and LST in Ground

Well, Lester insisted I be patient. I am definitely NOT patient. Again tonight we took the walk out back and OOOooooooo it was so hard, pruner in hand as I peruse the gardens not to cut off a little Lemony Kushinger.

Oh, in the video I say, I poke fun at Lester and then I say, stupit Lester! But just in jest and with love...of course.

...speaking of Lester, I ordered the 0-8-1. It will be here Monday. Should I just feed using that one time? I'm going to use it on some other plants which have not flowered yet out back. I have this one Heliconia I can't get to flower.

Do you use that also on autos when they start to push out the goo?

No, I really don't have many additives like the earth juice rooter per KJC, teas, whatever else, I sure need some.
I am ordering the same thing you ordered , is it the bat guano ???? 0-8-1. what do you suggest a kind of tea that's good to have on hand ? Thanks gf !

With live tea, you can't just keep it on hand. It is active and will only be useful if aerobic. If I buy freshly brewed compost tea, I use it that day. I don't use active tea in the house. I use compost in my mix and that has trillions of organisms in it.

The teas they sell which have a shelf life...are not alive and have preservatives in them.

Granny, even with an airstone and pump the tea is only good for up to a few days or so. The microbes you are after are not water bourne and while they do have the oxygen from the airstone, it is nowhere enough air to keep those microbes alive in a solution. Have you ever seen a professional compost tea brewer? It looks like a huge, commercial washing machine...like in the dry cleaners. It churns and pumps oxygen/air into the solution continuously and vigorously.

But if you do decide to try and keep it alive, try it in an open container and make sure that air stone is always pumping air into the liquid.

I'm not telling you what to do. I'm just sharing my own experiences.

I never ever would think you are telling me what to do but wouldn't mind if you did with all your knowledge...I appreciate any info, advice you give... :thanks:

What is it that you hate about growing outdoors gf?

I didn't get my timing right, so that's why I didn't love this outdoor grow. Also, living in a neighborhood and having constraints with who I can let in the backyard, etc.

It was okay, I suppose. I like the clean of growing inside, but nothing like the sun can do what your plants are doing. No LED panel can do that. Maybe a dozen panels, but certainly not a set up I would have indoors.

I had some timing issues myself.....the club gave me clones that were under 24 hrs light and told me they were at 18-6. I had to grow plants from my last years seed. I had to start over and had some issues with depleted soil. That pic is from over a month ago....like I always told you.......if you can get just 1 good plant outdoors it would supply two people for a year easy. I hope you don't give up......take what you learned and move forward......about having to exclude some folks from your growing area......that musta been tough! I understand completely and fortunately EVERYONE grows here....nobody trips on it...it's legal. The weed is as normal here as having a dog for a pet. Good luck, I just wanted to say hi and see how you were doing. I hope that next season you try again....if you wanna keep em low start topping early and keep topping em til they start to flower. If you need anything let me know! Mcloadie....

With regards to the tea talk....

Since I started using benefical tea, I have seen the overall health/vigor of my plants increase substantially, I think it is almost a must.

Here is the tea recipe I use, Tea recipe: How to get pearly white roots and accellerate vegetative growth - Blogs - 420 Magazine ®

Mr. McLoadie, great to see you. GF has identified a few things to do differently next year. She is going to rock it next time around. Also, what she has going is looking pretty good. She just likes to whip, beat, and mentally abuse herself.

I have so many plates spinning right now! Mark and I are in major talks regarding our future, where we want to live, how we want to live, how much we need to do it, RV full time or not, move to a legal state, this and that. I am all over the place in my life right now. Wherever we go I will grow and smoke pot for the rest of my life, so I am certain I will be growing outside, again. If not here in this house, then the next one. I have so much to look into. Do we sell or rent our house out. We can get 2200 a month for our home. But we need an attorney, realtor, etc. You can see my head is spinning with ideas, wish lists, and realistic grounding. Not easy for a nut like me!

Thank you so much for checking in, mcloadie! Nice to see you around.

Some of items in the recipe is just too expensive for me at this time, anything comparable ..?

You need one thing to make tea, compost. If you want to add molasses, go ahead. It is not necessary. Put one gallon of compost in cheese cloth, a bucket of distilled water with no chlorine, air stone, pump. Drop teabag of compost into bucket, run air stone 24-36 hours, vioila, compost tea. You don't have to get so fancy. It's microbes. Use within 24 hours after you finish aerating.

Now that sounds like my kinda tea compost cheap and if there's two things I am good at and that's making tea and compost. This air stone pump you speak of is that just like an pond pump or an aquarium pump.
