Ganesha's Tent

When the lights come on I really can just open up the tent grab a chair and look at em grow for a bit.

End of week 5, I feel they gained some height this week and started showing lots of frost, but it's still so early, 4 more weeks to get them fat.

They will make that can look tiny by then.
Beautiful picture my friend.
Absolutely gorgeous. :yahoo:

Cheers! Well I hope so.. the two mains will get to can thickness I'm sure, they are already well taller.
I'm kinda expecting +-150 grams per plant, could be more.. there's 34 buds.. if they all weigh 10 grams Bosh!
But the mains will be more than 20 gr and the rest in the 7 to 15 range I'm guessing on previous grows.
The package says 600 grams per square meter, well I've got half a square meter so, any way I cut it I get similar numbers.
Which would actually be amazing as that would be like a fourth of the outside harvest with truly a fraction of the plant material and space and the buds will be of a whole different quality and consistency as well.
I've seen the row of jars ya got set, very very sweet!

Lots of healthy roots.;)

More jars to come. :yahoo:
Have a great day my friend.

Yes that definitely the key! Your soil method certainly seems to make a breeze of that!
I'm already pondering the next time, window shopping for maybe a different flavour strain.
I'm sure I can pack the pots even a bit better next time. And timing I could fit maybe 6 buds more, but that's difficult to gage as it's aiming with how much you end up after the stretch.
Of course if I start topping I could first develop all the buds I want.. but I like this LST method as it's fast, you don't slow down the plant, the opposite pulling it flat makes it explode and it's just very low maintenance way of doing it. me like.

I bent over most of the girls in the greenhouse, grew all the vertical branches out.
Was quick and easy.
Even broke a couple.
Canopy looks perfect, your going to need a bigger tent soon.:surf::party:
Have a great evening Amigo

Oh yeah with greenhouse plants you always lose some even if your not doing anything couple of weeks ago before harvest we were looking at the plants and we hear a loud snap and see a big ass branch go down.

A bigger tent? No thanks this one fits right between two wall protrusions and Ganesha is just as wide covering the front :)
If I continue to grow like this, which is the most efficient so far in this tent, I'm probably better off with two lights, one above each pot, each capable of flowering 2'x2' that way I get excellent coverage all over my 1.65'x3.28' tent.
Bit more power, Grow a tad taller, Few buds more and I think we could get to half a pound for sure.

Cheers

I hate that snap sound, heartbreak.
Two lights sounds good.
I'm a big fan of light energy.
More is better. :thumb: IMO.

Lol I borrowed something wacky.. but now the whole right plant and the two mains are under the SP-150

IMG_0700.JPG

I also have a white red light one and this one measures a lot better although it doesn't look brighter, here the buds under the wacky led get between 500 & 650 ppfd which is double what they would receive if they were just out under the SP-150. So I'm going to leave that one hanging. Then I've got 90cm's of leds covering the 100cm tent.. It's snug but will do.

A little bit of the outside Channel+ the big buds are still drying, but I've got the small ones already curing these are already perfect to put through the vaper.
The plants did grow ugly this year as it's the first time they were really enclosed with diffuse plastic and it grew really wild looking for energy with a million of branches, it grew outside of the greenhouse and well everywhere it could, one of them was easily 3-4 square meters taking up the whole right side and poking out wherever it could, so for next year we're going to open things up again.
There's loads of this stuff, a lot will go through the bubble bags and the big buds will be saved for later.

I was just checking the plants in the morning and suddenly the lights cut off!! I go oh no, that's too early.. check the time..7.. supposed to be at 8! and then penny ah daylight savings.. but this is great.. I was already complaining that I had to wait until 8 until I can check on the plants but starting tonight I'll only need to wait until 7 lol.

I was also reading the foxtailing thread in FAQ and there a discussion was around elongated tips being an excess or a deficient.. well I certainly have something like that going on as I was already wondering usually this strain grows pretty round fat leaves.. now they are rather slim with long tips.
And there's tiny bit of burnt tip and a bit of claw visible in the previous pics. And they are also pretty dark green.

I'm also droughting this week.. as I read a bit of a discussion and something about increased terpenes and yield and thought well lets try that I'm in week 7 anyways.. so I have not watered since Saturday. So now it's a waiting game and then see how she responds to the refeed, and then see how many more weeks they can manage.

Pondering again : This grow has been a great improvement over previous attempts in this tent.. Bill284's method has massively improved water & feeding management with the pots. I haven't worried once about things being too wet and can now can pour litres into the pot without worrying I'm getting clump of wet soil for a week that's suffocating the roots.

The nets also made all the difference in managing canopy and using up the space better.
I'm kinda tempted to try four autoflowers again that way... as I kinda setup the tent for that, the Mars Hydro SP-150 is ideal for growing and flowering autoflowers in this 50x100cm space as the light intensity and distance and coverage work for hitting the required DLI.. for photoperiods she falls short though as I have to move the light a lot closer to flower by which I lose a lot of coverage.
The advantage of photoperiods though is you have way more control over plant size and harvest and they are a bit more robust.. and now with just two plants in roughly the same amount of time as growing autos I've got the whole tent covered.
So this has been the most efficient yet.. but if I want to continue & improve on this I need another light with a bit more juice and better reach.

So I'm oogling lights, but I keep thinking maybe first try 4 autos this way, I haven't done that with the pots stacked with perlite like that and using the nets and see what that yields.
Although with current electricity prices here photos are maybe more interesting? as you're mainly on 12hrs.. although couple weeks longer. Hmm lets say autoflower does 11 weeks start to finish on 18hrs, and the photo 14 of which 8 weeks on 12hrs and the rest at 18.. that's 77 & 98 days.. ha the answers is 42! of course it is.. the photos have 42 more light hours over that period. So nope that wouldn't matter.

Okay I'm gonna do that first.. get some autos and grow those out.

I see the SP-150's are on sale in eu.. I thought about just adding a second one, but then I'd still have two darker and two very bright corners and a hot centre.. and these are not dimmable. But it's a great light and I kinda really like it's form factor.
I'm gonna give it one more run.

You run autos in my method you will be very pleased.
I'm not a fan personally but I grew 1 this summer.
It was amazing, plant of the month material.
Till she got hit with mold.
She had huge tight colas.
I wasn't paying attention and she caught rot.
But grew wonderful in perlite combo.
Drank 3 to 4 litres a day at one point in flower.
Works great with autos.
You should give coco a try some time.
I ran a few this summer.
Fed them tap water, with nutrients.
But I haven't even bought a ph pen yet.
I think the Bokashi & Frass feeding the roots reduces the need to ph coco.
I'm going to do a couple runs to prove this theory.
But growth in coco is much improved.
Hope everything is going well take care.

Yeah a good auto can be amazing these days they flower big as well.
hmm I know if I really want big buds I should break out the GHE Aquafarm again, as I've grown this strain in there and well the breadth of those buds make the current crop pale.. I had 6,6' of roots for a 3 foot plant.
But I didn't max out soil yet... I maybe should start topping to get more nice mains. But for photoperiod I need more lights that's for sure.. so first up after this 4 scroggy autos, as that way I can hang the SP-150 at a height where everything is nicely lit and adjust the hours to get to the desired numbers.

With the LCD zoom on my cine cam and the 35mm f/1.9 lens I can actually get pretty close to the bud and see the trichomes super clearly and focus them with a shallow depth of field that I can shift per mm so I can bring row after row of them in focus unfortunately I can't take pictures like that as it's only on the LCD but the visuals I'm getting are very clear.. and well maybe they will be done at the end of 8 weeks as everything is already super milky.
So I guess they were right with their 7-8 weeks.
So I'm definitely going to give them till next Sunday the full 8 weeks.. and then I kinda want to defoliate all the bad and large leaves and leave them a bit more with light reaching all the smaller leaves and buds.

Tomorrow is end week 7 of flower, yellowing is starting to set in.. hmm actually now I can't wait to get them finished cause I kinda already want to go again.. Aim more for those large towering buds, although the others are deceptive they are long as well as the buds continue down the branch, I've flowered them maybe a week or two too soon.. as now many of the other buds are bent halfway as I mainly placed them during flowering stretch so for some it's just the top part that grows straight out of the net.
I need to veg a bit longer or get them bigger in the same amount of time..
