GaBoy's 2017 Outdoor Adventures

Hey there everybody! Hope everything is growing well with you all .

Super crazy last couple weeks at the office so I haven't don't much since my last update accept a few coco water x Aloe foliar feeds and watered them all within the last 2 days with just my coco water mix which they're loving. Had a bit of a break today so I figured I'd post a quick update on how everything is growing.

TS1 got a pretty extreme defoliation last night before her coco water dunk. Pushing her. She's looking good this afternoon though! No complaints.

These are all randoms out of my "box of chocolates" bag of seeds lol. Good old Forrest Gump reference. Going to start some more of "The Strain" soon and probably an OG Kush.
Fun little random project, Pineapple top growing roots. Will go into soil soon as well .

By the way, Bordellos IS a male, but I might use him to pollinate something. He's been very impressive thus far! Keeping him outside 24/7 now. Let Mother Nature have her way with him. He's far away from the others.

Hey Georgia thanks for the info, I just noticed a little fly on one of my leads. How soon can you put a pesticide or something on your seedlings. And would you recommend a product thanks

I wouldn't really recommend putting anything on seedlings. I would just try to crush the little buggers with your fingers to control them for now if u can. When they 4 or more weeks old, go with a Neem Oil solution or a couple squirts dawn dish soap in water. Both of these are spray applications by the way. And do these before lights out. Left of the leaves under heavy light can burn the plants.

Rad.... dude, I'm so sorry to see that for you man. Did they recover. Were they autos. If the water was ph 6.5-7, I thought that was perfect. I do want to avoid that with all the money invested in this.

They didn't recover - that IS the recovered photo after about 5 months looking like palm trees.
The stalks were too woody to grow fatter so they could not really uptake nutrients from the soil.
I was able to take clones and grow good clones.

I was sure that 6.5-6.7 PH would be good for soil since my first soil grow was 6.5 PH at 55-72g per plant. When I moved the PH to 6.2 they started growing and I put in some new seedlings and clones and my grow rebooted. The best of these old ladies was 4.7g. The best of the seedlings after 6.2 PH was 183g (6.5 oz.)

This grow I am doing a living soil with RO water, so I'm ignoring PH.

Did you use ph up/down in any of those grows? Just wondering because I haven't ph'd anything yet. Just using target distilled water for now, but thinking I should spring for the ph meter. Is there soil & water ph meter anyone knows is accurate enough to trust? Is using an ph perfect grow/micro/bloom going to help with my ph? Or do I still need to track it? Thanks for the info rad.

Great luck with your new ones.

Vader...ya for some dumb reason I can't remember, I placed my greenhouse on cynder blocks, & had the front door rolled up because of the heat where I live. Wind gust came straight thru. I just got home and found it off the blocks but standing still. Thankful I pulled em all and put back under leds.

Hey. Speaking of lighting,,,I have no exhaust or ac in my grow tent, so when it's 70 outside it's 90 in the tent. I vent by opening bottom flaps & when necessary, I unzip the front a bit also. These are autos in veg / seedling stage, so does the venting' slight leakage mean I'm wasting my electricity with them open?

Moonshine, get dechlorinator drops to remove the chlorine. A Ph pen to see where your at. 90 deg is too hot!!! you need to exchange air, suck out the hot air. My exhaust is awesome. Even if I go LED's my roof jack routed exhaust is a must!!! I draw fresh air from the house. Leaving flaps open can let bugs in and when you go to flower you need it COMPLETELY dark always so find another way to cool. A rotating fan is a must too. Im seeing a big difference with 70-80 degress from 85-95 degrees. Checking PH is crucial with nonorganic nutes in soil. Track it, get used to it. Get a good PH pen. Im told Bluelab is the one and the next one for me. Instead of distilled use Mountain Spring bottled water and PH it until you can see what your taps like. Its good you are having all this concern and taking care , efforts are rewarded!! Temp is everything indoors!! Let them dry the fuck out before watering, dont over feed. Tell them you love them everyday!
Great Day!

Tiny, quick update. Finally got the first signs of sex on GDP.! I'm pretty sure there's a pistil there, but will wait a few days and see how things develop. Fingers crossed!
420-magazine-mobile1752385283.jpg

Probably not yet. I usually see branches go alternate at the same time pre-flowers pop pistils - Those branches are directly opposite each other.

For your sake, I'd love to be proven wrong :)

Should I add some more soil to cover up that skinny bottom of the stalk? Thanks

I don't.

Add soil, don't add soil, the seedling will survive. Either way the trunk will get larger.

There is a possibility adding soil will slow down growth a couple of steps, not much, just a little bit, as the fomerly uncovered stem rearranges is program to grow roots and the stem above pauses it's growth while the roots extend.

Radogast, it's definitely a preflower. Spotted a few more today but ill give them a couple more days so I can get a better pic.

Moonshine, I agree with Rad. I wouldn't add soil and I'd wait for it to get bone dry, just about to drop before you water again. This helps strengthen the main stem. I know she's loving the sunshine! A month from today some of my girls will be going into the ground and other into their final 7 or 10 gallon pots for the summer. The time is finally almost here!!!

Spookie and Sneaky! I need to start getting to work on digging my ginormous holes and sourcing my soil amendments. My plan is to dig a large hole and then build a raised box above it to give it that extra above ground root growth space. Almost go time fellas!

Oooh that's as pro as it gets. That sounds perfect. Start nice and early and don't be too modest about how much space they are gonna end up taking upstairs I mean you can grow a 10lb+ monster. Start digging ASAP because big holes are done in stages. Good luck.
