Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

You have some beasts there for sure :thumb:

Man o man Major!! You are gonna have a wonderful harvest. Every time I stop in here I am floored with your grow. LH#1 has been my fav from the start, but it's hard to compare with that Gorilla Glue.

I like what you did with the screen into the lid. Did you glue it on the inside or outside of the lid?

Man those girls are something. I think even if I could grow outside, the fight with the critters would be neverending. Those girls are rocking man! Very excited for you.

I did not. Most plastic lids are made from polypropylene. Gluing that stuff is just about impossible. The screen is so thin, I cut it slightly larger than the top of the jar. The lid crimps it down over the mouth and holds it well. With coarser screen, it may not work, but I think by cutting the screen slightly smaller, it will still seal well and remain captive.

Hey Major....ZD+....
Is that a Sativa....
What about the one that has just started to bloom??.....:rofl::rofl::rofl:
That's cool ...you'll still harvest a ridiculous amount of top shelf cannabis.
Cheers to ya sir!:high-five: I would love to see what a few of these Lilly's would look like outside.Anyhow , have a great night Major and gang!

The two sativas are no surprise. Actually, they are moving along better than I expected. I might get a lil' somthin' somethin' from them. That LH is the real joke. :(

I am finding birds in the garden. I freak them out when I enter the garden and they bang around like a pinballs into the fence and cover. The yellow jackets eat the small bugs and the birds eat the larger bugs (YEAH!). Now, if the birds would quit shitting all over the plants. I couldn't figure out what was going on at first. Giant bug poop? Spills from some chemical? PM? Nope. Bird poop.

Major, thank you for the brilliant hash write-up. +reps for that - it was just what I needed. What screens would you recommend?

Hey Sue-
I haven't seen you around lately. Great to see ya!
I'm still learning. The 150u works quite well. The 75u did not seem to help with quality and certainly reduced yield while taking longer to sift. My next attempt will be with 100u. Depending on what you plan to do with the dry sift, I think 100-150u is the sweet (Sue) spot. :cheesygrinsmiley:
As I try different combo's I'll report back on my findings. The RSO my wife made yesterday is the best batch we've made so far. 10g of dry sift yielded 3+grams of oil.
The screen is only about $7 including shipping, for a piece that will make several sifting discs. I'd get a couple of different mesh sizes and see what you think. Stay under 200u and above 50u for sure. :thumb:

Great to hear. I have some 125. All the other methods don't work for me, for one reason or another, so I'd been holding out hoping to find a method much simpler, and it appears you found it. Did you stumble upon this yourself or did you glean it from somewhere else?

It's good to stop in again Major. I let myself get stretched awfully thin over the past year. Still working my way back to a reasonable number of subscriptions. You know how it goes. :laughtwo:

Great info Major, thanks!
It will take me a little to grasp the hash sift. You must grind it up before you sift? Maybe I should go to utube and type dry sift hash?? Im going to have adopt a different method soon.
Nice plants Major! Youve got some still along way off!
Im 38 deg N. Im flushing most start this Sunday. Last feed might be strait Cha Ching according to the jar. I think its 1 tsp per gal alone. Will check.
Harvest Time!!!

I'm betting that 125u is just about perfect. :thumb:
Last fall I did a dry sift run, but using bubble bags for the screen and using dry ice to chill and break up the herb. That works well, too, but is more of a hassle, more expensive, and requires more planning. I don't know where I learned about it, but dry ice extraction is a common search term with lots of info out there. This time I thought it might work well w/o the dry ice if I worked quickly and everything was frozen. IMO, this is as quick and simple as it gets. I try to work on the 80/20 rule: Get 80% of maximum quality with 20% of the effort and expense. In this case I think it is more like 90/10: 90% of max quality with 10% of the work and no additional expense.

Great info Major, thanks!

I do break up the trim or buds, just by hand right now. Last year I used a food processor that was placed in the freezer. A few quick pulses is all it takes to break down the herb. I was doing a pound at a time then. The mesh I chose then was a little too coarse for best quality. You may be able to see the lower quality in these (a small part of what I processed).

Quick! Easy! Fun!

Dam man lookn beautiful n gud luck on the one tht took a face dive hope she continues 2 pull threw n not rot out on u gud luck and lookn amazing as per usual

Thanks Jones!
If only the rain would hold off for another week, or so. GASS (nose dive) is getting beautiful purple flowers to match her smell. But it looks like we're in for wetness Sunday and Monday. Some of the colas will likely be OK, but the majority in the center will almost certainly turn to mush I'm afraid.

I hear ya on the rain thing Major. I have one G.D.P. x AK-47 plant & one G.D.P. x Bubba Kush that are just now starting to purple up & I'm afraid will turn to mush due to the upcoming moisture in the air. Grrrr!!:lot-o-toke: All year long not one drop of rain & now boom out of the blue here come the winter storms to destroy all my beautiful colas. What's a gardener to do?

Best of luck on your end!:goodluck:

Wow, organic pest control and high-brix foliar feeding. Some guys have all the luck! Good luck, bad luck, no luck, ... all kinds of luck. Kudos and reps for supplying all the drama that I was missing in my urban back yard grow. :Namaste:

I hear that about the rain. Saturday I hear here. Snow on Mount Hood? So Miss J has been taking afew of the main colas off. You do have acouple that sure look like they got along ways to go. Alot of them hazes are way beyond my reach outdoors. If a vendor claims seed needs over 8 weeks I don't like to throw them outdoors. I have seeing a year's work go down the tubes. With nothing but butter or hash. We have a Black WidowXBlue Lemon Thai just coming in. I know she could use afew more days, but bird in hand thing going on here. After coming to terms with writing this year's crop off to bugs we do have some product,,, thanks to that Green Cleaner. Man I don't see any of them suckers on my girls anymore. But mine aren't going to be all they should be this year,,, Your Girls are looking great GL with the weather and Keepem Green
