Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

Looking pretty good for a lazy grower, though something tells me your not as lazy as you make yourself out to be :laughtwo:

Next year I will be planting to accommodate my cover not figuring out how to accommodate my cover to my grow.. something tells me that will be an easier way to go. FYI Harbor Freight has an online coupon for a 10x20 carport frame for $99.. not sure how long the ad is good for but might be worth looking into for next year

Girls are frosting up nicely my friend. outta the blue, I don't really care for this old grower fool, I'm not much in the way of pacifist myself, and I lean to being MUCH more pro active as far as protecting mine, .... but dude, as long as you get something,,,, preferred aluminum,,, you can't go wrong, just have a plan on replacements for the cover............ A good framework is a major thing. I woodn't trade my framework for anything...... Keepem Green

Major, there are some good candidates to grow next season. I'd stick to these ones and drop all the late bloomers. Also with your winds I'd look into stronghold of commercial cultivation, and I mean supporting methods: caging, LST, screening. These will windproof your grows, and help with height issues. If you leave more space between the plants they won't get so crowded either. Anyway great job :thumb:

major, looks great!!
maybe auto sativas next year? :)
Waldo looks really fine. GG buds very frosty for outdoor girls. Excellent gardening....rewards in sight now. :Namaste:

:thankyou: my friends!

Next year I do plan on building a cover before I plant so I can do a much better job of it. I'll also give up my medical card which means fewer plants. I'll grow 4 which will give me a little more room.

I've looked at the various covers and portable garages at Harbor and other places, but none of them have enough height for these - probably not enough for most strains.

What would be really nice is a greenhouse/hoop house/cover with light deprivation to get the plants to bloom earlier. That sounds like a bunch of work - both making something that would work and then having to close and open it up every day.

Out of the blue last night we had heavy rain, wind and lightning. It beat Waldo up pretty good. I'm afraid to go down and see what happened to the covered plants. Once it is light out, I'll survey the situation. With GASS all floppy and bunched together, and with no cover, it will be a prime candidate for mold/rot. But if it is the only casualty, I'll be getting off easy with giving it an early chop.

I appreciate the support! :high-five:

Pacificdomes dot com have some interesting greenhouses. Zip off roof and all. That said, they're probably expensive as all hell.

They look pretty awesome and they are right next door. But yeah - I bet they are pricey.

They are costy,, like 3500 for the smallest. I had a friend I use to mine with who had a geodome. Alot of good growing space in them. You can make a nice one with pvc and rebar. I bought one of them kits off the net with the polycarbonate pannels. Suckers rotted out in 3 years and got brittle. Now I covered it with fiberglass pannels and they will last forever. I love the framework I got with it, it will last damn near forever. That is if you wanted to go that far. I'f I had the energy I'd go with 2x4's and them pannels. What 2' x 12' pannels. I've done great with them in the past GL and Keepem Green

Hello Major.
I plan on switching my tent to flower Oct.1. How many days until I can tell sex after switch???
Nice plants!! We had 13mph. winds and I hated it. I could only imagine if we had weather here.
Awwwww the sun kissed San Joaquin Valley!!!!

I can usually see sex in one week, but it can be more - like two weeks.
This is for veg'd plants. If you start at 12/12 or flip very early, it takes a little longer.

Why thank you for such kind words, Though being the pacifist I am I can only assume I will still be expecting a Christmas card from you this year :laughtwo:

Hey Major I hope you did not get hit to hard by the winds we got the other day, I spent all day re-skinning other peoples grows though I was lucky and both of mine took no damage at all. The ones I bought were from Costco, beefier build then harbor freights and a little taller. My plant out my brothers is mostly 10 foot tall but I do have one kola that I had to tie over slightly to keep it from touching the plastic. I did not throw a tape measurer on it but I am guessing between 10'6" to 11' at the peak

Looking forward to your harvest, it should be a dandy

Ya eh Ziggs....that friggen ZD + is easily three months from finish...maybe longer too! What a PITA! Ziggs , Major ..i wish you could see this Lilly ...she is a definite keeper. I would love to have four of her in my GR , but just can't take the chance of getting another LOOSER in the group! Cheers .:high-five::Namaste:

Drive by,,, sure if you want,, you could hold your beath... JK,, kind of,,, ofcourse I woodn't waste a Christmas card.. But enough wasting time or thoughts. Different strokes. Man the San Joaquin Valley is perfect for growing. I did alot on the on the Sac River Delta back in the day. That Weather is perfect for outdoor. Maybe the best there is in my eyes. Keepem Green

If you build a barn-shaped "dome", basically a roof without the walls, you can use shorter pipes and those angled fittings. there are even fittings for a yert, which is incredibly strong for using straight rafters. You can raise it higher by setting it on 4 ft walls.

Just another design idea for your greenhouse.

Major, as were pretty close, and this is a first time project, it looks like the plants are getting crystals ,like dew drops that I saw yesterday afternoon, I'll include a picture but I'm thinking does this mean about two more weeks?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Sophie, great job especially for the first time!!!! Nice buds!!!
Get a microscope and check trics. is the best way to know when to harvest.
If you go by hairs I think you wait until the red hairs are dying and its not producing anymore white hairs?
Im going by trics. They went from clear to cloudy to cloudy to 10% amber in a week. Im figuring 2nd week of Oct. but maybe sooner.
Congratulations Sophie on your grow!!!
And thank you Major!!!
Namaste

I agree with Dutch.
It is hard to tell much about timing from photos. I'd say two weeks is about right, but with magnification on the trichomes, you'll get the best info there is to make the call.
Usually new pistil growth will nearly stop, or greatly slow. Also, as the buds get bilked up, the pistils sort of recede and become less prominent.
