Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

What kind of moth are we talking about?
I believe there are a few different types that will cause problems. All moths = caterpillars. Check out Tobacco Budworm and Spruce Budworm. A lot depends on where you live.

I think Id rather fight yellow jackets all summer than 6 weeks of caterpillars. Maybe not!
I guess I'm special. I get both!

Id say ball worm here. Ive notice they bother some strains more than others it seems and some years are worse than others. Incredible how much damage they can do!! It depends on how they decide to eat the bud. sometimes they kill the bud and sometimes they just manicure it for you. Little bastards!
Thanks so much for all your help Major Pita!!!!! Namaste!

You're just in time for the big show.

I can't wait to see how many pounds your harvest produces. That one grow would probably last me 10 years! What are you going to do with it all? Does it keep for long periods of time? I'm guessing vacuum sealed? You don't have to answer these questions, I'm just typing these questions as they enter my newb mind. :)

Hehe . . . I chuckle now every time I go look at my one little Bianca plant! You've ruined me! :laughtwo:

It would last me that long as well.
Assuming this grow doesn't crash and burn in the 11th hour...
I'll probably compost all but the best stuff.
I'll give away a lot of it.
I'll make a dry ice extraction out of a lot of it.
I'll most likely only harvest about 2/3 of it. I doubt the sativas will finish before the weather goes to hell.
I do vaccuum seal the flowers I keep. Then they go in the fridge (after a cure). I just pulled some more Ace of Spades and Pit Bull buds out of storage I harvested last October. I can't tell that they lost anything, either in flavor or potency.
Honestly, I could probably live off the scissor hash I get during the trim.

:surf:..... Just a bit of heaven, is all. Hey Major, can you please have a quick look and tell me if Harvey , is at the "main gate". Thanks bud, ....he needs to run a simulation with the pressure sensors as the trigger tonight, just after dusk tonight. You received a notice already , but as a reminder , this test involves firing the remote, turret mounted , CO2 powered , full auto BBguns. The three will let loose with a three second burst at exactly 9pm. You may watch from your bedroom multi display monitor, if you wish. I need to remind you again to request a security check from all these new visitors. Have a great evening Major , friends and well wishers...the rest of ya's .....smoke this....:joint::)

Harvey is present and accounted for.
Roger that. Turret lube'd and loaded with the full 9 yards.

Oh, Iguana - If you saw my first grow, you'd by mighty proud. You beat me by a mile!

Scissor hash? Kief? I've obviously got some Googling to do.

I'm also slightly afraid to ask how you made a perfect sphere of hash.

No, don't answer that. This is all too much for me. Unsubscribe! Unsubscribe!!

(PS. Call me Iggy :) )

Hey MP, how do you get the ball rolling, so to speak.

Iggy and Dean-

No secret. Just grab a big bunch of scissor/finger/bugger hash, work it with your fingers for a few minutes to make it pliable (it's a lot like clay), then roll it between your palms. I highly :cheesygrinsmiley: recommend it - very theraputic.

That's more than what id know to do with. My ass is so unlucky that it'd all go bad on me. Geeez Major! You must have a lot of happy friends :)

I wish I did. Mainly I don't know all that many people. Some of my friends don't partake. Some of the rest grow their own. I give away all I can but still have to trash a fair amount.

I wish it was easy to sell legally. I don't want to make a job of it, or even make any money. But I wouldn't mind recouping my expenses for materials and electricity (when growing indoors). That would keep the War Department (wife) happy with my hobby. Honestly, it would be cheaper for me to purchase what I use down the road at one of the local dispensaries. The closest town to me is only has a population of 6,200, but I have 6 places to buy within 5 miles.

Down here any place would take it if you have a red card. As long as you grew it legally theyd buy it. A G a pound tho from what I understand. They rape the big growers here

Wow! That would be sweet for hobby growers like me. Here you have to be licensed and submit tracking information monthly (how many plants, how much produce, where it went, etc.). Everything has to be tested and certified before sale. The fees are hideous. I think I'd be lucky to break even even after jumping through all the hoops. I guess in Oregon they rape the small growers.

Here all someone has to do is call you their caregiver and if they have permission for 99 plants...look out now!!! Hahaha!!! You can be a caregiver for 5 people so, in reality, one person COULD grow 495 plants. The patient gets what you agree upon and the dispensaries would take the rest...crazy! Im just glad I can have my tent grow lol

Anything that lays eggs that become caterpillars (which are voracious) is a threat. For flying insects, you can use deterrents, like companion plants or flying insect strips. It's the smell that discourages them from laying the eggs. They want yummy plants to feed their young on. And if the area doesn't smell right, they'll go elsewhere. Like to your cabbage patch. :laughtwo:

What about cabbage moths? Are they a threat?

I honestly don't know. AFAIK, all moths (and butterflies) lay eggs > larvae/caterpillar > pupa > moth. I know cabbage moths will eat leaves and poop on your plant. I don't know if they lay their eggs up at the buds and attack from within. When in doubt ... shoot first and ask questions later.
