Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

Think cool thoughts. I got my tent started about 2300, took that long for house to get under 85 (high temp light cutoff switch setting). It's going to be a fun few days.

It was 108 yesterday. More of the same for a few.

Mornin Major,

108!! Yikes. Have a great weekend sitting in that nice pool of yours.:surf:

Cheers

It must be about the same on your side of the hill. I have to get my outdoor work done by 10:00 am. Beer:30 comes earlier than usual.

Good news: An animal (probably a skunk) succeeded where I did not. It dug up the yellow jacket nest. It was HUGE! Now I need to figure out where they went...

Only supposed to be 88 here today, soooo thankful it's cooler over here. I'm sure there must be some security footage of natures little helper, get duggs to look it up.:cheesygrinsmiley:

101 today and tomorrow. But by 2100 or so it's in the 70's, good enough for my 2100 to 0900 nightly run I hope.

Yes Budley, my team is going over the remote camera footage now.......it shows a skunk, a biggun, digging away and doesn't seem to be bothered by the constant stings it must be getting. Lots of hornets exiting the hole...but to where ...the cameras don't show it! Cheers Budley , Major and Gang!
Oh ya OMG Major...that's just stupid hot there bud....NOT GOOD!
Try and stay cool ...you got the pool, so....:bravo::high-five:

Yep. Here in Oregon our skunks are much like the Honey Badger........they simply don't give a sh!t. :laughtwo:

 :thumb:

The 101 degrees up north sounds about right. I'm amazed you are only in the upper 80's on the east side. It always seems hotter than heck to me over in Bend in August.

Good morning, bro!
If this GT(+) acts like my last grow, I'll have a hard time telling if the trich's are cloudy unless I knock the snow off them.
Have a great day my friend!

:thanks: Ziggy! I hope these aren't a Purple Haze cross or we'll be harvesting around February - March. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Considering what you have going on, that is high praise indeed. :thanks:

:welcome: lazyfish!
I looked over your thread. I'd give your plants a solid well-balanced feeding. Your plants look great, but hungry to my eyes. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Lester! Much appreciated. I wish I could figure out how to get better pictures. The netting kind of messes up shots from the outside, and inside there is no room. I can't even set a ladder up in there other than a couple of tight, uneven spots. Cheers! :high-five:

I'm going to give the tent thing a try. I'm not sure how well it will work since I have to span more than 16' and I'm guessing at least 12' high.
I am giving the plants in the ground 8 gallons each, every other day. In addition, I put many, many gallons of water on the dirt around them (maybe another 10 gallons each). The plants in pots get 4 gallons with nute's one day, then 2 gallons of plain water the following day.

:yahoo: Thanks GT! I love her too, but she is a hand full. I'm glad she ended up in the center of the garden. It gives me a small chance of covering her this fall. I'm curious how tall she will get so I can plan my build.

:welcome: Hizzy! Nice to meet you! Pull up a seat and enjoy the ride. Things should get more interesting from here on. Not TOO "interesting", I hope. :thedoubletake:

:thanks: Dan! We've been here about 35 years. The place is a lot of work but I'm always happy to get home when we vacation ... anywhere. Now that cannabis is legal, it is absolutely awesome!

We will be at 104 today and 106 tomorrow. I better drag my fanny down to the garden. Today is their watering day. It takes nearly two hours and when it gets hot, it is no fun fighting with those damn yellow jackets. I put a huge dent in their population but I cannot get rid of them completely.
:scratchinghead:

Sounds great!! Thanks alot

Im looking at <85 for the weekend, but still no rain. Humid as hell, but the rain is all going to someone else. Living below grade is great for temp control, but mold is a serious issue. :/

More fans, more fans! Increases evaporation.

I have the same conditions/weather as you, except you get more rain and no doubt more humidity and probably colder in winter. Im wondering if you can get a spring outdoor crop, put them out in Feb? I can!! No snow here, you??
My yard grow seems to take the heat great, just make sure they dont need water.

No way here unless you have a heated greenhouse. We have lots of hard freezes that time of year. Even in March - April, I have to pull plants indoors at night to keep them from freezing.
You'd also need to grow autos. Otherwise they'd just veg until July - August.

Major is right, it's possible to get 3 auto runs if your quick and late Feb is warm. But I'm indoor and not running AC. So it's a challenge. But a fun one.

Major, if you sprayed your outdoor for fall caterpillars what would you use and when?
I plan on using Aza Max spray once a week until end of Sept. Good idea? which should still be a month or so before harvest.

Since I've never had to deal with them, I'm not sure. I don't know when they hit exactly. I believe the life of the caterpillar phase is only 2-4 weeks so timing is everything. Azamax/Azatrol will work. For frequent spraying, I understand Bt works - probably not as well - but it breaks down quick and is about as safe as anything.

I try not to spray once buds are forming. In fact, I just did my last spray this morning ... I hope. In my case, spraying is becoming a non-option. The plants are too dense to get good coverage of the interior and too tall even from a 6' ladder. I try to keep up my spraying while the moths are out hoping to keep them off the plants = no eggs = no larvae = no caterpillars. After buds are a month old, they are usually too dense for me to want to spray anything on them for fear of mold.

Not much help, I know. :cheesygrinsmiley:
