Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

Thanks for this pal! Your right on target...everything is going well. Ya , that neighbor...not good, but i do believe when you straighten him out...he will chop them. If he doesn't, tell him of the grave consequences to other grows and what it would mean. I think he will "get it"...why wouldn't he, really!
Anyhow , my security team has just completed a sweep of your perimeter and ....did a wind check for that stray pollen.....i can dispatch a "night cutter" from my team to deal with the pollen threat. Just say the word Major!!:blunt:
All other checks on your system are 100% ! Bambi makes an appearance from time to time , but leaves after seeming pissed off at the netting... the photos of venison stew are helping as well.

Cheers Major, doing awesome my friend!:high-five:

I agree you need to talk to the son. It's a good opportunity to teach him some of the protocols when growing near someone else's grow. Even regular gardeners planting nearby have to follow protocols to prevent ruining someone else's Zucchini with other species of squash, for example.

Pollen can remain viable for years under dry circumstances, or if frozen. Life has a will to survive.

I've been trying to get ahold of them, but with it being a holiday weekend I think they went somewhere. I am going to talk to them ASAP. It couldn't hurt.

The good news is, I was able to spend all morning down in the garden and raised the hemline of the five in the main grow. They each got another 4 gal. of water, too. I hope to tomorrow to trim up the two girls in the 25 gal pots in the veggie garden. Plenty more to do to them, but it is a start.

It's ironic, the neighbors next door are really nice. The kid wanted to grow the males so he could juice the leaves for his father. I just trimmed three shopping bags full of reasonably high brix leaves. His male and hermi are nearly white. I planned to give them my trim but no luck. Oh well.

Here are the results of several hours of pruning this morning. It doesn't look like much, but I cut a LOT.

I didn't get to these but at least they look better after their drink.

Bummer about the males. Yes this pollen will be airborne but a lot depends on the wind directions in your area and if they're strong and persistent. They will keep dropping pollen till thry're dead in September or later and if it blows your way then you're gonna get seeded crop. Hmm I really don't have anything against seeded bud but I'd prefer to pollinate it myself. Give him some smoke if he kills them that's the best idea I have :tokin2:

I already gave them some AoS and Pitbull from last year not long ago. They mean no harm - just ignorant. It is my goal to educate them a little so they can grow more successfully and do no harm to the rest of the neighborhood.

Looking superb Major.

I hope the back is doing okay after all that trim work.

Why thanks my friend! My back said no, but in the end it was ok. It is a little better each day. :thumb: :thanks:

Bummer bout males, anywhere, but put males in the hands of a newbie can be tragic. I had a friend once got all bent because I had given them acouple seeds and all they got was a male. I made the comment when I seen ball's on him that it was male and they needed to chop it Kind of fast. Well his Old Lady wanted to grow it anyways. I told him I'd give him a female to replace with. Afew days later I looked over the fence and both were out there growing. Kind of tic'ed me off and I jumped over and yanked the male. She never let me forget about it. Hell I had like 20 or so plants just on the other side of the fence. I couldn't get her to understand why I did that but oh well. They helped burn more than afew bowls of seedless pot later.
Rouge pollen is something to think about. Pretty soon farmers are going to growing hemp everywhere. One good wind down the 'Narrow's here in the Gourge area can carry pollen for miles.......Scary. Could even make mother nature a in-hospital place to grow. This guy Mike from Stoney Girls, has been working on a strain called Mother Superior. I guess he was working with a strain called Berkeley and crossing it with? I forget but he took cuts then pollinated it. Seeds never took. Clones woodn't pollinate either? Freak? Maybe, but he's had a plant up at his classroom, he teaches organic horticulture at Portland State, for 3 years running at it won't pollinate. He wants to grow it afew more times before he releases it. But I got a cut of it abit back. Not that I'm going to try to, but if the herbs good I'll keep it going. Right now I'm having alittle problem with it. I had it out and it got pretty damn cold afew weeks back and she hasn't started back up looking happy yet. I do have acouple cuts of her in the greenhouse, but I know she'll pull thru.
Your girls are bulking up nicely. I hear ya, you can cut more small branches out the way then most indoor plants have in total from some big bushes outdoors. Fan leaves by the bushels. Looks great have a safe 4th And Keepem Green

I hear ya, Norcal. I've been thinking the same thing for a few weeks - long before this happened. With everyone and their grandma growing outdoors now, rogue pollen in the Rogue Valley is inevitable. It's weird to think the days of sensimilla grown outside could come to a close, or at least be more rare and difficult. Legal growing is creating new and unexpected challenges. Adapt. Evolve.

Major: you might have to erect a greenhouse with air filters to prevent stray pollination. When you grow plants that beautiful, you really don't want to confine yourself to a bedroom space, like many of us have to do.

Thanks for the reminder MP I need to get that done as well, but it may have to wait a week or two

I am a firm believer you should always take the high road in a situation like this which I see you have done.
Educating is always the best way to make people see the light.

They need to start posting more educational videos about this on YouTube and other forms of social media since so many new growers are using this form of media to educate themselves. Education is always the best way to prevent that from happening. Though once it goes full blown legal and Phillip Morrison has a huge outdoor crop pollenated by some uneducated individual, trust me, there will be a BIG lawsuit on their doorstep.

There yah go, Major! Make a UTube video about outdoor crop growing, starting with a short tutorial on the basics of the grow, then sneak in the etiquette part. That way you don't have to confront anyone in person. You spread the word locally and on this forum, and EVERYONE will go take a look. :thumb:

Someone should do it (outdoor cannabis-growing tutorial with emphasis on etiquette).

This is a great idea, but I'm not the guy for the job. I hate being in front of a camera. I'm like a deer in the headlights when it comes to ad libbing or even reading a well-prepared script. I don't mind talking with them. The problem is, their house is in the middle of a major remodel and they've been staying somewhere else.

What would usually be good news: I'm seeing the first new pistils on almost all the plants this morning. It looks like flowering is just getting started. I'm resigned to growing seeds this crop. Trying to look on the bright side, it might help ZD(+) and GT(+) finish earlier ???

hemp pollen is one of the concerns I had thought about and inexperienced growers, I figured if a hemp farm starts up next to me they will get pollen from me until its more or less the crop I would want to grow then they would all laugh at me for smoking their useless bud lol

Major,..!!! Don't say that ! It's not like you to be negative this early my brotha. Your biggest concern is only ONE neighbor. You are dealing with it....they will understand , i believe! My "cutters" are avail. for immediate dispatch.:smokin: We have to get that guy under control Major, he is your threat. And NO, it's not OK for your "Five" to be seeded by BS genetics after all your hard work! Please don't let it happen. Anyhow , cheers bud , and have an awesome night.:high-five:

Hey major suggest he gets online to learn from this great place or school him up over a bowl of some your stash I bet he listens when he experiences the best bud he has ever had lol
