Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

Hello, my 420 family.

If anyone is still following this journal, I hope to post an update very soon. I SO appreciate your thoughts and support during what has turned into a two week nightmare for me, and month long for my sister. You wouldn't believe all the complications. Her hospital stay would make a good horror story. She is out of the hospital but far from well. The big hurdle is now with her back. No one seems to know what happened, but she can barely move (even with a walker) without excruciating back spasms. She also has nerve damage in her lower spine which is causing weakness and numbness in her left leg. Because she has difficulty moving, the hospital trained me on giving her IV infusions at home. We hope that will be over very soon. If so, my life will get a little more normal. However, she will still need plenty of assistance until someone can get her back problems sorted out.

My grows appear to be doing well considering I've been absent. Last night was my first night home in a week. I am sorry, but I probably need to drastically reduce my thread subscriptions for the time being. Under the circumstances, I do not deserve your MotM votes. Please feel free to change them to any of the other much-deserved nominees (if that is possible on 420).

I hope you and your babies are all doing great. Update coming - honest! Take care, my friends. :Namaste:

Sorry to hear that Major.

While everything is still fresh, pay closer attention to anything the hospital did or did not do to cause all these major complications......many medical negligence lawyers work on a no-win-no-fee basis. If the hospital has messed up; make them pay! It costs you nothing to fire off the same email to a few of them and they'll get back to you if it sounds like you have a case.

I still think you deserve the motm - stay well, your sister is lucky to have such a brother :Namaste:

Major, I don't agree with you on MotM. I feel it is for past guidance you have provided, and for many of us that has been priceless. If you win, you earned that! You take care of your family man. You have been there for us and we are here for you.

Hey bud, hope that it will sort out soon. I've been going through a similar thing with my wife sick, but we pulled through. Rest is usually what helps the best, but be sure to get a good diagnosis so you know where you stand!

Glad to see your sister comes first, thats the way it should be. We all love ya man and are in your corner here to cover your back.

Update (Week 19 of Veg)

Meanwhile back at the farm...

IDK how soon I will be able to post another update so I'm throwing everything I was able to grab yesterday into this one. I hope to get back to a normal schedule soon. Mostly what I have are boring veg pic's. Since I haven't been around, I didn't get the chance to trim up any of the girls. They have gone feral on me. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I count my lucky stars we had very mild weather in June. Last year we were 90-100 most of the month. This year has been about 25 degrees cooler on average. We also had more rain than usual. Without this dumb luck and a soil grow, I'd probably have nada about now. Hydro may produce more, and hi brix might taste better, but when it comes to easy, nothing beats good old amended soil, IMO. Just add water.

Since veg is boring, I'll throw these out first for fun. My micro grow is close to the end - maybe another week or two for Pig and Duck. Each container holds 28 ounces (liquid measure). I have to say, they smell awesome - like a skunk chewing on grape candy. I only wish I hadn't burned their leaves with mite spray. I hit them with a heavy concentration that was left over from treating the big plants. Then the following two days were our hottest of the year (near 100). The combination made them pretty crunchy. Otherwise they'd be proper little potscicles. Nothing very special, but it's been a fun experiment using some GASS seeds from a hermi (no nanners from either that I can see).

On to the small above ground garden.
They've had it tough. 25 gallon pots aren't much when outside and abandoned for a couple of weeks. Both plants were wilted yesterday but I gave them each 4 gallons of water. GASS has been a bit problematic from the beginning. It is in leftover HB soil (this would be third run if this was a HB grow). It is the same soil that gave me problems in my previous indoor grow. Something never quite hooked up with that batch of kit soil. GASS appears to be in a constant need of mag and/or calcium. I've been giving it a bunch and it does help each time.

Now the main garden.
They look ratty as heck but seem to be doing fine. I keep wondering how/when they will stretch now that we are past the summer solstice. The sativas, especially ZD(+) are going crazy even now. Unfortunately, I'm sure neither will get to finish completely. Our late fall weather is just too brutal for them.

Yesterday I was able to give each of them 6 gallons of water. Other than that, I gave them some extra cal/mag since I had it with me and one or two looked like they could benefit from it. The sativas definitely prefer less 'N'. They each have a little claw. The others appear to be in the zone.

Gorilla Glue #4 has always been the runt, but finally woke up and joined the party.

On the other hand, even before the stretch, and with plenty of topping, Zamaldelica(+) is growing about an inch per day. She is currently at about 4-1/2 feet. I was hoping to keep them all lower than last year. Dunno if I succeeded.

Then there is this ball, the flabby Liberty Haze #1. Not sure if I lover her or hate her. Time will tell. I look forward to what she does once buds form.

The Golden Tiger(+) is still fierce, but ZD(+) has taken the lead for height. This plant has 62 main tops. Too many? Not enough?

The matronly Ace of Spades. She is old and when moved outdoors she started to flower. However she behaved herself and stopped without going through the whole re-veg cycle. She appears to be doing well.

Weather is now going to be an issue. We will be in the mid-90's for at least a week beginning tomorrow. I'd love to get down there and trim them up, but I don't see it in my schedule. I think they are all going to need a lot of support once the buds form and that will be quite a challenge. I still want to grab a couple of brix readings from ZD(+) and GG4. If I get the chance I'll post them this weekend.

My sister continues to improve, so I'm thankful and life is good - crazy, but good.
Get out there and have a fantastic weekend, gang! :Namaste:

All the best major. Family first. At least for some reason my avatar appears as the one you have for John Bonham (only on iPhone) so it seems to me you are are always here. Smoke and prayers for you and family brother.

I would like to thank each of you individually, but I'm going to cop out and give you all one HUGE :circle-of-love: :thanks::thanks::thanks:

I think you deserve the votes you have. Your name was submitted and then approved by the mods. You are here for a reason. Have a good day bud!

I like the look of your GG#4. You have same twisted leaf trait that the strain us know for.

Seed or clone? Plants look great after your time away. Good prep or luck does not matter at this point. Hope your sister recovers completely.

Cheers

The girls are looking gorgeous as ever Major!:thumb:

I don't see anything that looks ratty. Everything is looking great brother! That Liberty Haze #1 is gorgeous to me!

Glad to hear about your sis! Keep the positive vibes! :passitleft:

Thanks again all. I really want to get down there and shave their legs. I like them fairly natural, but with the mite problems I always seem to face, it makes it much easier to get good coverage with less internal foliage.
