Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

I am soooooo jealous, PITA! Even your Ball would completely fill my poor grow room! I don't see anythng ratty on your ladies.

After all my shower grows, it is a luxury to be able to let the girls stretch their legs. :yahoo:

:thankyou:

Beautiful 'back 40' you got growing. You seem to have it dialed in my friend,, Love the yard.......... All I got in concert to work with. Man it gets hot. Makes me wish I had dirt. What happened to the Pit Bull? I've worked with her acouple times here in Oregon. She makes a strong finisher here come end of Sept. One of the best for a mold resistant plant. I've thought about a pallet under smart pot.

Thanks! I 'F'd it up. I grabbed some uncut amendment and added it to her like it was the stuff I had mixed about 12:1 with my sawdust. It killed her in a matter of days. Even a heavy flush couldn't save her. I was so looking forward to growing it again. That's why the GG4 is smaller. It was a last minute stand-in. A stupid mistake I hope I learned from.

Well gang, I was able to grab some brix readings. Pictures are garbage..again. Light was poor so I had to jack up the contrast and brightness. With the weekend coming to a close, I will likely be quiet for a while as I need to get back to helping out my sis'.

Zamaldelica(+) came in at 17.

This was a surprise, Gorilla Glue managed a solid 18.

I'll try to be around a little, keeping track of as much as possible, but I really hate trying to post on a phone.
Until next time... :ciao:

I had a brain fart move this weekend too. Ended up losing half of my kit soil because I took something for granted. It's a long story, but the bottom line is, I got some EWC from wally's. I got 3x 4lb containers of it to split between my 2 bins. I had it dumped in and started mixing when I noticed the ammonia smell. One of the EWC containers I got was bad. I was sooooo pissed. I half-way hoped the soil was alive enough to overcome, but the next morning the whole bin was ammonia-fied. Dumped it in the back yard and raked it in.

SO, to remedy this problem, I went to the hydro store, picked up 2 bags of the loose-fill 2.2 cu/ft promix hp and 2x 15 lb bags of wiggle worm. I used 1.5 bags of the promix and 1 bag of ewc along with half the amendment I happened to have on hand. This effectively makes half a kit of soil.

So since I can't use the bin of 3rd run soil I had planned for this round, I'll use the soil I just finished in (also 3rd run now). I added some roots and EWC and cut in a cpl gallons of the fresh promix. Added 2 gal water and plan to be soaking some beans tonight.

Well, POOP! (and not the good kind). Sorry to hear it Gov. Glad you were able to come up with a solid plan 'B'.

I put 3x #3's and 3x #2's to soak this morning too...

Hey, I think I'm fine on the soil. I have this bin of 3rd run that should be just fine. Actually, I think I'm better in the long run now with some fresh cooking. The only shame is I had that I had that bin tuned and ready for action too. I just thought I'd give it a boost to kick this run off...pfft.

Sounds good Gov.....the two Lanny's came up and look strong. The soil they're goin into is third run too...i'm gonna cut it with a big bag of PM before the up-can. These KK's. got a lil too crispy for my liking mid/late bloom...no matter what they got. I figure a bag of straight PM will take some of the edge off the stuff till i can get another fresh bale in the rotation. Cheers Gov,....and Major! :Namaste:

Update (Week 20 of Veg)

Temperatures have been in the low to mid-90's all week. You can see the plants are dealing with a little heat stress, but all appear to be doing well for the most part. Rather than trying to capture each plant individually, I went with an overview and some close ups of the leaves.

Everything looks about the same. I may actually get the time to trim their skirts this weekend. I think the only plant of note is ZD(+). Even with all the topping she grew 10" this week to about 63". Because they are a few inches above ground, the top of ZD is staring me right in the face.

Golden Tiger(+). You can see the 'N' claw. Both GT and ZD are being pushed about as hard as possible with this soil.

Gorilla Glue #4 appears to want a little more Mag.

Ace of Spades, the old maid began blooming when she was transplanted outside, but has been well behaved. The buds are only on a couple of the oldest lower branches and she didn't go through the weird growth re-veg phase.

The top of AoS. She is loving the 'N' and even gets a little extra from fishy ferts.

Meanwhile, over at the other spot, the above ground plants aren't handling the heat as well and need a drink (which they both got)

These little ones are AoS culls my wife dragged out of the compost pile. This is about as organic as it gets. They were planted in unamended soil and get no nutrients. Watering has been rain and catch-as-catch-can from over-spray while watering other plants nearby.

They also began to bloom when transplanted, but kept at it ... slowly. I imagine they will take off now that we are past the solstice.

The big news for this week isn't good. My closest neighbor has a veggie garden right along our fence line. As it turns out their son had a few plants growing in their sunroom. He decided to transplant them outside yesterday. I went over to look at them and one appears like it will likely be a female but the other two are already past flowering: one is a male and the other is a hermi. Both are spent. The hermi has mature seeds. He admits he has no idea what he is doing and is trying to "bring them back to health" by putting them outside and feeding them. The last thing I need is pollen from them and they are only about 50 yards from my grow. I'm going to talk to him today if he is around. Any ideas on how long pollen stays viable outdoors? I hope my plants don't begin to flower until these are long dead, but I still have a feeling I will be growing seeded herb this year. Gack! My other neighbors who grow way more seriously than I, are going to be ticked off if they find out. Hopefully I can convince him to chop them now.

That's it for this week. :thanks:
