Update (Week 20 of Veg)
Temperatures have been in the low to mid-90's all week. You can see the plants are dealing with a little heat stress, but all appear to be doing well for the most part. Rather than trying to capture each plant individually, I went with an overview and some close ups of the leaves.
Everything looks about the same. I may actually get the time to trim their skirts this weekend. I think the only plant of note is ZD(+). Even with all the topping she grew 10" this week to about 63". Because they are a few inches above ground, the top of ZD is staring me right in the face.
This is ZD(+) up close and personal.
Liberty Haze #1 dealing with the heat.
Golden Tiger(+). You can see the 'N' claw. Both GT and ZD are being pushed about as hard as possible with this soil.
Gorilla Glue #4 appears to want a little more Mag.
Ace of Spades, the old maid began blooming when she was transplanted outside, but has been well behaved. The buds are only on a couple of the oldest lower branches and she didn't go through the weird growth re-veg phase.
The top of AoS. She is loving the 'N' and even gets a little extra from fishy ferts.
Meanwhile, over at the other spot, the above ground plants aren't handling the heat as well and need a drink (which they both got)
Liberty Haze #2
A very thirsty Grape Ape x Sensi Star
These little ones are AoS culls my wife dragged out of the compost pile. This is about as organic as it gets. They were planted in unamended soil and get no nutrients. Watering has been rain and catch-as-catch-can from over-spray while watering other plants nearby.
They also began to bloom when transplanted, but kept at it ... slowly. I imagine they will take off now that we are past the solstice.
The big news for this week isn't good. My closest neighbor has a veggie garden right along our fence line. As it turns out their son had a few plants growing in their sunroom. He decided to transplant them outside yesterday. I went over to look at them and one appears like it will likely be a female but the other two are already past flowering: one is a male and the other is a hermi. Both are spent. The hermi has mature seeds. He admits he has no idea what he is doing and is trying to "bring them back to health" by putting them outside and feeding them. The last thing I need is pollen from them and they are only about 50 yards from my grow. I'm going to talk to him today if he is around. Any ideas on how long pollen stays viable outdoors? I hope my plants don't begin to flower until these are long dead, but I still have a feeling I will be growing seeded herb this year. Gack! My other neighbors who grow way more seriously than I, are going to be ticked off if they find out. Hopefully I can convince him to chop them now.
That's it for this week.
