Flashmp3's Green Crack x Blue Dream Rockwool Revenge

After taking the pictures of the indoor grow space, I did some supercropping on the tallest branches to keep everything even.

Guys I m planning to flip when they hit the 8". This will be size measured from the beginning of the first 2 branches of the trunk. I had put the seedlings low in the ground so that I didn't loose any height with stretch :

So what do you think about flipping when they are 8"? Blue dream and green crack stretch around 200%. I would like to maximize my space the best I can and have short plants with good sized buds like that one :

What do you think of it? Is it a good strategy? Should I wait longer than 8 inches?

With the plants being so close together, and the amount of stretch you expect maybe its a good idea

I m getting impatient but as well a bit worried cause I don't want to be overwhelmed by too much stretch. I have the feeling that if I consider one of my 60L pot which has 5 single plants in it, they will stretch more than if it was a single trained plant like @Mr. Magoo one for example. I ve seen plants stretch a lot in some grow journal but it could also have been due to lights that were to far. I m still trying to find journals of blue dream and crack that weren't veg for long but can't find for the moment @Asesino85 any advice bruh?

To be honest i have no experience with either strain

I can't help too much on the Green Crack front as mine was from Crop King Seeds. Mine didn't stretch at all like I wanted it to. It was unusually small for the way I do things and the yield was moderate. I think if I were to grow it again I'd have at least a normal sized plant though so I'm chalking that one up to just a genetics issue. I've had problems with consistency in seeds with Crop King Seeds in the past too so it seems to fit the build.

The Blue Dream from HSO does seem to stretch. I've only grown the one and it was massive. The opposite of the Green Crack, I think my next one will likely be a little smaller as mine went nuts. The good news is that you can always super crop or LST during stretch if you have to. By looking at your pictures I see the main 4 branches are all the same height and then all the little branching that is now going vertical is not at that height. I'd keep letting them grow until it is all the same height and keep LSTing the main 4 branches down to let the littler ones catch up, then I'd flip. If the goal is to not have them get that big then you are pretty close. Likely flipping the same time as Mr. Magoo. Maybe give them a few more days?

So hard to tell without actually being at your grow location. Pictures only do so much and educated guessing only gets you so far but that's my 2 cents.

Thanks Ase! I ll follow your advise and wait a few more days to have every branches at the same height before flip. Thanks for sharing!

Today is perfect sunny day! So I went outside with the lux meter :

Then I went on Google to look at what they say about sunlight. Some websites say that max lux on a sunny day is around 100000 lux. Others say 150000 lux. So I don't really know which one to trust. My lux meter is on the cheap side. 30 bucks VS expensive ones around 200 bucks.

Considering the height of my lights I decided to lower them a bit to have closer value from what I saw outdoor

Previously it was around 70000 lux.

I KNOW SOME WEBSITE SAY LUX MEASUREMENT DOES NOT WORK FOR LED. However I will just tell them kindly to be open minded and have a look at the different articles and videos about lights on my first post.

Growweedeasy website has an article about weed and lux. It advices between let s say 50000 and 75000 lux. But I ve also always seen that no light can do better than sun! That's why I thought it would be a good thing to lower my lights and try to be closer to what's happen outside on a sunny day. But still keeping lux lower than outside cause I had also read weed couldn't survive full sunny day everyday like it would be in the desert. So I took it to 100000

Ideally I would need a PAR meter but I can't find one in my country

After seeing @Stltoed plants I feel like I should maybe allow more stretch before flipping @Mr. Magoo . The look of his plants with long and well developped colas make me think that all the plants I saw before with no development in the lower part of the plant or stretchy small colas, where like that maybe cause of bad lighting x bad feeding x bad defoliation??

I didn't want more stretch to avoid wasting time having stretch but undevelopped down bud sites

Even if all strains are differents I know mine always doubled with stretch. But flipping on Thursday should give 15" plants after stretch

I want to offer that its highly probable that your plants wont ever look anything like mine. Im not knocking your plants, this is a genetics thing. These plants just grew this way. Training did very little in this regard. Of the 4 plants you see in my pictures there are differences. 2 are making serious kolas, and two are making branches like you would usually see. AND the plants are almost 30 inches apart... this is a major difference from yours. If i were you, i would stick to the original plan. You plants are so close, they would be all over each other if allowed to be.

Thank you for your offer. You re right the first plan was reflected without feelings haha. And in fact I had reflected about the fact that too much stretch would make them even more crowed which isn't good at all. Thank for your advise. I ll stick to the plan!

@Mr. Magoo after seeing this grow journal and the big stretch of flowering I ll flip Thursday night even if the girls will have only 40 hours of recovery after defoliation :

GrowDiaries. Hawkbo: FBT 4

I have to many plants to allow big stretch

If you can get some stretch out of them they'll produce nicely.

In my previous grow more or less successful grow (harmed with terpinator spraying when it was developing so well!), I got x2 stretch. I was in soil, not in best ph conditions, and was using only biocanna bio Flores, bio boost and terpinator. So I m confident in that grow in coco, with ph monitored everyday, full advanced nutrients line + plant Success great white and looking at how fast they have always been growing since the beginning, they will stretch for sure!

Lumen includes lights that your plants don't need. The lumen in your lights are necessary for plants.

Weed 4 update - Flowering Flip

She took 1 week to releaf like crazy knowing she had been hardly defoliated :

So that was the last veg pictures! Girls have been flipped today meaning they received only 13 hours of light vs 20. I want to try a good 13/11 as in some place in the world plants flower under around 13 hours of sun 11 of dark. I think going straight from 20 hours to 13 hours for 4 weeks old plants should trigger flowering (mature enough) . I ll give them their first bloom nuts tomorrow
