First Time Grow Journal - Outside - Kaya Gold & Freebies

Here are a couple pictures of less than green I'm experiencing. The first in awhile. Two different plants. The first on several leaves, the other just at the top of one of the plants. For context, it has been cool and wet for several days. Can someone tell me what is going on with these?

Memo to journal. The sativa in the ground is officially at or beyond the height of an NBA center. I can't reach her top on my tiptoes. I'm 5'10". She's right at about 7'4". I thought before she'd be 8 ft. I think she'll be taller. But for sure as a center, she is not Shaq. Much more like Dikembe Mutombo. A skinny girl. Apologies to Dikembe. You were a MAN. Now FLOWER please, my baby.

She's a gal, you got preflowers which means soon you're gonna see formation of first flowers. But you're nute burning!

I've had pre flowers on all but one for about 3 weeks or more. They are just really starting to bust out everywhere now, even where I have tiny first leaves of fourth branches coming out. The last one showed as a girl about a week ago. Looks like the stretch of iffy weather is over for a bit. Gonna get back over 80 at least for several days. Its keeping in the low 50's at night. Need an Indian summer.

I'm giving thought to using Roots Organics HPK Bat guano and Langbeinite basically. Thoughts? Or should I get the two components separately? Or? I'm trying to finish this grow successfully and keeping it simple. I'll then have awhile to figure out a more refined approach for next season. Although I'm already trying to figure out a way to do an inside grow over the winter. Ha! Hooked on growing.

Better late than never.
Good to see another Oregon outdoor grow! Looking forward to you reaching the finish line.
I sort of skimmed through your journal. Are these really the same plants you started with on page 1? And they still aren't in full bloom?
My gals started showing their pistils almost exactly one month ago with about 14.5 hours of daylight at that time. I think they must have "flipped" with 15 hours. At your latitude, the days should be slightly shorter than they are here.

Thanks for looking Major PITA. Same plants. Not flowering despite I've been putting 2 inside 12 hours total darkness for a week. All but one put out preflowers about a month ago. A couple guys who've watched from the beginning of the journal think it is likely the seed source and strains. Just trying to stay patient.

Just kind of joking about the lift test. Ya can really feel the extra water when you are moving them around.

I hear ya. No joke to me. I moved my 7 gal. pots a lot in the spring to keep them from frost. Once you are used to it, you can definitely tell when they are about to need water.

One thing I'm noticing on the KGs is that the nodes are really tightening up recently. Almost right on top of each other on all the branches for the last 3 or 4 nodes on each branch. They are really pushing out those leaves and forming two calyx and pistil pairs right along with the tiny leaves everywhere. Not getting much taller, just one new set of leaves on top of the other at the top. I'm taking this as a good sign. The Sativa, she keeps getting several inches taller every day growing to the sky. Can't measure her any more unless I get out the stepladder. She's pushing towards 8'. Giving them a little molasses (supermarket unsulphured) with each watering now, 1 Tbs per gallon. Is that a good amount?

I'm serious, SS. Is this the start of flowering. I don't know the difference between pre flowers and flowers.

The little white strands are pre-flowering. They're getting ready to start building. Don't worry, nature knows what she's doing.

One of the other guys will have to help you with the leaf concern. I'm too new to the game to know.

Let's get real now. I'm thinking what everyone else watching this is thinking. There is no way KK is going to bring this to harvest before the first frost or other ill effects of bad fall weather. We're going to have to finish this inside somehow. And we will. I don't have a place in the house for girls this large. But I have a garage. And I have 8 old florescent shop light fixtures I used to use to start my vegetables when I had a bigger garden. I have open rafters in the garage. Are there lights I can use for these old fixtures that will get the job done?
My budget doesn't include this. I need to use what I have but can get lights for the fixtures I think if that is possible. Hmm. Just thinking ahead. Do we agree I need to be thinking about this? My DNA doesn't like failure. Thanks for all the help.

I hope everyone who has been watching my journal and helping me will look at this post. I know what everyone else has known or been thinking. No way KK can bring this crop to harvest in the time he has since they plants haven't started flowering. Our first average frost date is Nov. 15. Bad rains or frost are going to defeat finishing outside. I think those odds are about 99%. So we will have to finish inside somehow. How? No room inside my house for these girls this size and lights. I have a garage. I have 8 old fashioned florescent light fixtures I used to use to start vegetable plants when I had a bigger garden. Are there lights I can get that would get the job done? I have an open ceiling with rafters to suspend the fixtures. No heat, but I could get a portable heater or two. I don't really have a budget for this, but can manage, I think. My DNA doesn't like failure. I figure I have about a month to get this figured out. All thoughts are greatly appreciated. Please help me make this a success. Here are the girls involved. They have survived my questionable caretaking and want to finish.

Pardon me for appearing to do the same post twice. I did. I don't know if was my advanced age or my medicine working on me. I can't figure out how to delete a post if one can. So sorry for the duplication.

It does seem unlikely they will finish outside in time. You could get some 6500K bulbs although in bloom that may not be needed. It doesn't seem likely they will get enough light, but you gotta try if it comes to that. Are your current light fixtures able to be put on a timer?

Thanks Major PITA. I've only just started to think about this in a medicated state. I'll have wiring issues with the old fixtures I have that would be complicated. They are wired into a great grow set up perfect for plants that are up to 12" tall. Hmm. Perhaps I can set up a frame with CFL lights. Pardon my ignorance, This is my first cannabis grow and I know next to nothing about lights for indoors. Take a look at the photo I have up there know with the plants I have if I could get you to. Can you give me an idea how many CFL lights I would need?
