First Time Fluxing

I would think you would be fluxing the long way in the cooler rather than the wide way, no? Unless you're only going out to the edge of the wire frame.

I originally wanted to go the length of the cooler and grow the 2 around the edges of the cooler to connect at the middle on the other side but now I am somewhat cheating. Not sure if it is technically fluxing, although it it the same amount of topping and similar training.

Now I am growing these 2 out to the edge of the white rack. At the edge, I will top both ends. Those four growth tips will then grow around the edge of the cooler to be grafted once completing the loop. I'll try and make a visual.

Well, I guess I could not top at the first edge and just wrap the original two still. That will give it a longer veg time and be closer to the original plan.....clearly I thought this through:rofl:

So the plan was to grow all the way out to the edge of the rack, top, and grow the resulting nodes around the outside to the middles of the far edges? That sounds like a plan!

On the other hand, how are you going to put in the two other plants under the rack?

Haha my plan changes so often. I can still remove the rack at this early stage but I'm not sure I want to include the clones in the cooler anymore. I can move the rack until I turn the first corner and then I'm pretty committed.

So to summarize my current yet ever changing plan: grow one plant around the cooler. Grow the clones out on their own. That way I will have 3 clones and a blue dream that I can grow where the 4 autos are now. The clones and the blue dream are similar in size so if the clones root soon that should work well.

I'll try and only write my plans once they are fairly concrete. I get excited and my plans always change. Sorry for all the confusion for anyone following.

Here are some pictures of the autos before I adjust the tie downs on WW2 and NL to better level the canopy. I think I will start training PE as well. Have a great night!

Not much going on since yesterday. I fed all of the ladies today and stepped up the nutes so fingers crossed that they love it and I didn't over do it. I'm thinking this is the last time I use veg notes for feeding WW1 and NL and will be switching over to blooming nutes.

Currently, I am using roots organics and cal mag. Just buddha grow and buddha bloom for this grow.

I'm working on leveling the canopies and I haven't started training PE yet. It does look like it was successfully fimmed.

Since not much is going on, I thought I would show off my very first Carolina Reaper.

Just do a search using fluxing as the keyword on this msg board.

It is nothing more than another name for the trimming and training method called "manifold" or "mainline". Some growers are worried that some of society will think that manifold and mainline are bad, naughty words. But both of them are legit words used by people in the bottled gas businesses, electrical businesses and plumbing businesses. Those examples are easy to find by doing a google search. After looking at the pictures it is easy to see why mainline or manifold are perfect for the training method.

Have a good day.
could you please explain more about fluxing, I have not heard of this training method

The makeshift LED light is over the cooler and the Franco Lemon Cheese is waking up :) I've also lowered the LED over the autos and increased the intensity.

I plan to continue to lower the LED over the autos and clean up the wiring on the make shift LED. Happy growing!

whats in the soil
Ahh that explains it thank you. I have been reading a lot into mainlaine, it’s somethig I plan to try on my next grow, I had never realised flux was just the same thing, flux for me is something I use when microsoldering. I’ve been researching since my last/1st grow and just learning the terms. I didn’t even know what a node was at one point.

Since joining this forum its been overwhelming the different techniques and terms being used. 4 months ago i thought growing cannabis was, put it into a pot, add water, smoke your bud.

It’s great here in this forum, people like yourself are so happy to help and give advice.
Could you please explain this technique I have never heard of it!

Hi Sloptop, and :welcome: to 420magazine! Here is a great explainer on fluxing!

Our member LightAddict is credited with inventing this technique.

Could you please explain this technique I have never heard of it!

@InTheShed provided the perfect link regarding fluxing. To be clear, I am only fluxing the plant in the cooler. The others are all autos and are recieving some LST training after being topped or fimmed.

As for soil, I am using some fox farm ocean forest that I have been using since my first grow years ago. I had house plants growing in it while I wasn't growing for a while. I have perlite and coco coir mixed into it. Not sure on ratios anymore to be honest

I came home to happy plants so the nutrients were not too much I don't think. I'm having a hard time judging when I should switch to blooming nutrients but my thought is to keep going with veg until I dont see vertical growth? PE has yet to be trained as I have been slacking. I will take care of that by tomorrow night at the latest.
