First Grow! So Very Excited To Share The Progress Day By Day

Day 29 - July 22, 2018: Temp 76, humidity 50%. No signs of buggies at all. Never had to use the Raid or NO-Strips.

An enormous amount of growth while she was sleeping. And I swear I see tiny white hairs coming!... But that could just be me being hopeful. I hope you don't mind the photo dump, but I figured it is worth it.

Looking good! When were you planning on switching to flower? I recommend you do a defoliation (trim fan leafs) 1 day before the switch. Basically if its a fan leaf that is blocking light to lower nodes, its safe to chop it off. Leave tiny fan leafs alone. This will let light reach to the nodes underneath the main cola's and more light is always good!

UPDATE: Twisty ties came in the mail. I set up a little stake system with 4 chop sticks. All of them are used to slowly crank the plants. Looks beautiful opened up like this.

Day 32 - July 25, 2018: Temp 80 humidity 50. I've worked in two more chopsticks to train two more of the hopefully future bud sites. Still no more signs of buggies, so I'm feeling confident they're gone for good. I trimmed three fan leaves that seemed excessively large and unnecessary. I feel like I should trim more, but I think every fan leaf is attached just below a set of nodes. My apologies for crooked pics at the end. These are from yesterday evening and this morning.

Advice on trimming is appreciated!

I had heavily defoliated a day before i flipped the lights so that all nodes were getting some pretty decent light. By day 21 in flowering they completely leafed out again and i had to do another heavy defoliation. Theres a before and after of the heavy defoliation (trim) on day 21. I still think i went somewhat medium on the defoliation to be honest.

Wonderful! Thank you!

The real problem I have is that I only have two/three sets of notes on each branch. And each of those only has two fan leaves per side. It just seems risky to cut any of them, because the little leaves that grow out of the nodes are still so tiny on a lot of them.

That's what is great about chopping em off. Those little ones are now being focused on and also now getting direct light. What I would do is leave the outside fan leafs that are not shading nodes since they are on the outside. Cut the inner fan leafs so light is hitting all those inside nodes. I've done this often and it works well!

Alrighty. I watered just now, and I'm finishing up some school work. I will have to do it tomorrow sometime, but will post pics!

Day 33 - July 26, 2018: Temp 79, humidity 50%. She was looking happy as ever when she woke up. Vyserage, I went to town and took approx. 10 leaves off. I'm pretty sure all 10 of them were fan leaves from the second highest nodes, or just grody looking leaves.

I've got her opened up even further, and it's insane the growth she has with barely any height! It's almost a perfect square with tops. She has 3 on each side except one, where there is only 1. The pictures are a view from each side of the plant, a top down shot, and a shot from the side. Let me know what you think!

Lookin good! Those nodes will be happy to have direct light! Good job :D
What a relief to hear you say that. I was seriously concerned, but I told myself going in I was going to actually take all of the advice thrown my way.

I still can't believe cigarette water got rid of the spider mites.

its always a little stressful the first time you start cutting into the plant, i still remember my first haha. These days i dont even think twice, i just snip. Those tiny leafs grow up so quick, you will see!

honestly im still not much good at knowing male vs female aside from females have the pistol's sticking out (the white hair) and males never do. You usually wont know until flowering day 10-16 or so.

Day 36 - July 29, 2018: Temp 82 and humidity 50%. Last night I fed her 2.5 liters of water with 1/4 recommended dosage of flower nutes. I didn't screw around with the LST too much because she's still growing how I want her to. Looked healthy as could be this morning. She's still glowing from the after effects of her haircut.

Please disregard the terrible formatting of my nutrients guide.
