First Grow In Over 20 Years! Northern Lights Under 600W LED

I appreciate the compliment Sauga but it really isn’t deserving because being retired and with not much else to do with this crappy weather I can spend an incredible amount of time researching but really it takes so much time I don’t understand how you can work full time and keep your garden growing so you really need to take some of that credit yourself.
It's what you do with your time. You could sit and do nothing! You choose to broaden your knowledge of Cannabis. I choose the quick way by clingin on to the likes of the Pennys and the Sheds. I can get enough knowledge that way for all I need to do. It's true what they say. The plants do better without us. I spend an hour or more each night with the plants. I could spend more learning, but I know what I need and that's good for me.

Must be nice! Lol

It is nice but I would have worked a few more years but so many years in construction really wore my joints out. I should have spent more time being a foreman but I just didn't want the responsibility or hassle so I just stayed on the tools and wore myself out like a knucklehead, lol...

Could just sit and do nothing, LOL. That’s exactly what I feel like I am doing when I am doing my research on cannabis, LOL. I have my computer screen set up in front of my power recliner with my big-screen TV in view so it’s not exactly hard work doing my research. But what you seem to be doing is working out fine for you; it’s really my pH problems that got me doing all the research but I think your leaving well enough alone approach is pretty wise. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

@InTheShed has some roofing woes..I'm sure he'd like one more opinion to go with the many he already got :)

That sounds like a nightmare. I couldn't imagine a worse time for roofing woes than the middle of winter. I know just enough about roofs to give a totally useless opinion so I might as well put in my 2 cents, lol....

With me, and it's always been like that, too much information is overload. When there is something specific, such as pH issues, I learn as much as I can. But I don't go trying to learn everything there is to know only because to me it is a hobby. Mistakes are part of the fun but you don't want to make the same one twice.
Another thing I found works for me is stick to what works for me. There's lots of info that can be misleading or confusing. When you find the right mix, stick with it I say.

Perfect...

I admit I do enjoy soaking in information and I am smart enough but I have an absolutely terrible memory especially when it comes to names and places etc. which is pretty much why I became a millwright. Institutions of higher learning have this obsession and prejudice when it comes to grades, LOL.

But I think you have a pretty smart idea sticking to what works and once I get my system ironed out I think I will pretty much do the same with maybe a little test here and there to keep it interesting. ;)

I’ve grown from seed so far but with my next grow I’ll be hunting for some keepers then I can run clones.

Is that mostly seeds you have produced yourself?

Boy was I disappointed when I went to my thread after I came here!

Hope your roof problem got fixed. Bad time of year for that bs.

I have grown my own seeds but I continue running new strains looking for my ultimate keepers.

I bet your rejects would be most people’s keepers, LOL. I thought in your Journal that you were collecting pollen from a totally male plant and I wonder if you have tried making feminized seeds from two female plants. I wasn’t going to do any seed making because I wanted all-female seeds but I found this site which explains how to do it and it seems pretty simple so I think I might try down the road to make my own feminized seeds from two females. There is the site if you care to have a look but I get the feeling you already know all about it.
