First Grow Ever - Humboldt Dream 2024

I would love to grow one of mine outdoors, outside of the greenhouse in the ground. Alas, I can't do that because plants here in Hawaii flower immediately year round as soon as they are sexually mature. I grow N-generation clones (clones of clones), so I can't plant them in the ground... they will start flowering in a week. I grow them in my veg house using night interruption lighting to prevent flowering. Then transfer to my flower house when ready. I tend to be lazy about that, and the plants get too big in veg, and then can be root bound by the time they reach the flower house. I am transitioning to SIP buckets instead of 10 gal nursery pots, so that will generally help my timing some. A 5 gal SIP bucket w/ 4.4 gal of soil in it can produce a 1 lb yield no problem. Well, we'll see!
Your plants are beautiful bro don't worry lol your doing perfectly for the environment you are in!!!

🙏Yeah, I'm actually very happy about the Hawaii photoperiod, because I can flower plants year round! I might grow some trees just for fun, using seed.

Your plants look great, too! Keep up the good work! Great first grow my friend.

So do you think those plants are of some huge tree genetics, or would anything thrown in that spot have grown so Huge? ❤️
There are lots of sativa strains and hybrids that will reach 15 ft. I've had various hybrids that could easily reach over 10 ft in 10 gal pots. I had sativas in 40 gal smart pots that I had to top multiple times to fit inside a greenhouse with a 10 ft ceiling... photo below. EDIT: This one has genetics from the Nepali Watermelon Hashplant, a Himalayan mountain sativa landrace, also called the Watermelon Tree Hashplant.

This is stunning I keep looking back at it 😄

Quick question for you @cbdhemp808 whats the optimal bag size in your opinion for producing quality cannabis I would hate to have less bag size but if I don't need it then why bother pretty sure my bags are 100 and 150 gals.

I'm a container grower, but largest I've done is 40 gal fabric. Of course, it depends on your soil composition and whether or not you are also fertigating. I have found in my grow that my custom super soil mix works very well in a 10 gal nursery pot, for max plant + container height of about 8 ft (topped to fit in greenhouse). I fertigate starting in late veg and on into flower with a high-N liquid fert and also solution grade Langbeinite (K, Mn, S). I'm not going for a huge harvest... just shooting for 8 oz. The reason being, it's very difficult for me to dry and cure where I am, in a very warm, humid tropical zone, and also off grid on limited solar power. I'm building a "cool and quick" bud dryer out of a small chest freezer, and the capacity will be right around 8 oz dry flower. As I mentioned, I'm now transitioning away from the pots and into 5 gal SIP buckets. So yeah, giant containers are a foreign concept for me. I'm doing a perpetual grow, and need to move plants around inside of greenhouses. I'm reliant on clones, and for good reason.

Here's my #9 pheno of Cherry Blossom CBD, grown in a 10 gal nursery pot this year. [ harvest report ]

Here's a Pic of my babushkas just took this for comparison.
Very nice. Now I'm thinking that maybe Humboldt Seed Company has refined their Humboldt Dream toward even more sativa-like morphology, which would probably have even more fungus/mold resistance. Have you guys smoked or vaped it yet? What's the effect like?

Environment is your friend, I haven’t seen anything that can beat outdoors in a great environment but I’ve seen some pretty amazing results from indoor that could easily rival some outdoors but not without a lot of expense and care. I’ve seen nothing here that I’d ever be worried about. The fonze might say, happy days are ahead :)
