First Grow, Deep Water Culture, Northern Lights, Pics

Wellll... my girls were due for a drain and replenish today so that's what they got. Still 1/4 dose of nutes in there because of my problem child. I also threw the 2 new airstones in there after they soaked overnight. I got some pictures too.

Delivery that came in which will be my new best friend in a couple of weeks when I have guests for the weekend:

Here's how the humidifier is working (temperature is off in that picture, it's usually more like 80-85):

Now your running! Humidity is up to a much better place, and more bubbles. I can't wait to be where you are in my upcoming grow! Exciting, but patience is key, like the Chief MC said. I've grown tons of other plants (for my garden and such), and patience is always a best practice.

1/4 nutes is as far as I would go right now so you done good. Problem child will catch up at some point. Room temp and humidity are much better. Stay patient!

Thanks MC! I have been kind of worried that beast will outgrow her and need more nutes before she is big enough to handle any more but I won't give up hope on her.

I hope they're enjoying their presents. :) I'm still holding out for my problem child. I'm sending her some good vibes by believing she will outgrow the beast. That and wait are the only things I can do right now so that's what I'm doing.

I'll send some of those good vibes to your grow.

With multiples in the tank it's always an issue of needed nute levels. At this young age it's best to keep it on the low side, Happens almost every grow. At some point you get to decide to keep it low for the one behind or nute it properly for the majority of plants but we are not at that decision quite yet.

Stay calm and peaceful!

hey sadalix, looking good. that lil proplem will turn around. and like mc and rolled up said. patience is key. give them time to react to whatever you do. but looking good my friend.

My ladies got a little abused for Valentine's Day. I left them for 24+ hours. Before I left, I positioned the humidifier on their level right next to the tank so the output fan on it burnt them a little. Also, I came home and the feeder tubes were clogged up so their roots were dry and the girls are a little droopy. Not to mention, the humidifier was probably empty for at least an hour so the humidity dropped. Despite the abuse, they still showed signs of growth. If not for the wind burnt leaves on my problem child, she's looking a lot better!

I pointed the humidifier at the wall and unclogged their tubes. I snapped some pics of the damage. =/ I know they'll recover.

All systems go! Gets a lot easier when they get the roots in the water. That's liftoff time! Glad to see Baby is getting into the act!

Woohoo! Yeah, she's certainly busting a move there, huh? The problem child is also coming around for me too. She has some nice new growth happening up top. Still nothing going on with her single root but I'm staying patient.

Should be ok but just to be sure add 1/8th and wait a day and then add the other 1/8th if it looks like they liked it. This is the time to learn how to read a plant. The problem child seems to be uptaking some N dut to the green up and that's a good sign. If you go slow they will tell you and if you go too fast they will scream at you like a 2 year old!

Pic spam for you guys. It has been 22 days since they were planted in the rockwool. I haven't topped them yet. Think Beast is ready for it?

Well, looking to the roots they are doing great. Baby looks like she is paying more attention to growing root then growing greeen and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Problem child may just be a late bloomer (pun intended). She'll get there.

This is like trying to judge what the kids will look like as adults at 5 years old! LOL!

You handle the plants like you handle the young kids. You give them a good well rounded environment. let them do their thing and if something happens to them you fix them any way and everyway you can.

hey sadalix, the plant in the first pic is ready to top. she's got plenty of nodes. you'll love the effects of topping. but all everything looks good.

in my opinion i would let the nodes you know your going to keep grow out another day or so. if you top to early youll stunt the plant and it takes them longer to develop the branches.

what does the grow room look like is there air being circulated properly?
22 days old plants? I would hold off on the nutes, the leaf tips being dryed and crispy not such a great sign.
I'm sorry if this seems too direct but I need to say what will help you out in the long run.
whats ur Breakdown
Strain
PPM
PH
RES consumption per day
Temp
What is ur PPM b4 u add drank H2O and then Whats after u add H2O and PH up/Down?
As for the algae growing on your feeder tubes there must be light getting in your Res tank, I never understood why Stealth H decided to make a res container out of a light translucent material this is one of my main reasons to make my exact duplicate of there product but using a black tote from Ikea ($3).
Anyways I would wrap a darker the better towel around ur Res container and Duck tape it in place.
Yes I know SH buyers will say "I never had algae issues with my SH system" thats not the case here this root rot is from algae and a combination of too high res temps (even though its not listed, wrap will help block heat a lil aswell)
I sincerely hope the best but I'm not saying anything drastic so its not far fetched to try out Not for me but for the life's you are nurturing over.
