First Grow, Deep Water Culture, Northern Lights, Pics

I had to improvise a little, but I got two cups full of water in there with some rolled up news papers and wash cloths sticking out.

I have you and everyone else here to thank for my "wisdom" on the slow feedings. I'm just listening to advice and letting everyone's guidance sink in. Thanks again to everyone who has offered some word of advice or encouragement. It's greatly appreciated and I know my babies will love you all for it too. :D

I bought a humidifier for 40 bucks and it worked great I misted my plants alot (during veg) and they grew plenty.
CHeck out my grow I have a northern lights and she grows very fast

508 counting my water which is around 170. So it's kind of low? I'm weary about adding more nutes when those other two are so small, don't wanna burn em.

Thats good! So many people are in a hurry to add nutes, getting ahead of themselves and wanting more growth. I know I had to keep telling myself to slow it down.

Plants are looking great though, and are just starting to take off. Once they get a couple legs into the water, watch out! :yummy:

Thats a good idea.

Frequent misting also helps.

A habit of wetting towels also helps. Fold them up, creating layers. Might help keep them from drying out so fast.

Yes, you need to walk slowly into the nute concentrations. I followed Roseman's recommendations on adding nutes and now my new plants, 25 days into veg are 22" tall, I need to get them flowering right now before this batch gets overgrown like the last ones did! You don't have to push very hard for them to grow fast, I almost feel it has even more to do with the lighting than the nutes.

I think I'm going to go by Walmart this weekend and grab one.

Thank you! I took the towels down off the rack, filled up a bucket and stuck them in there. Kind of like the wick with newspapers idea, just larger and it's helping.

I am definitely keeping it slow with the nutes. If my beast in the back gets hungry before the others are ready for more nutes, I'm sure she'll tell me. But if I can, I'm waiting until the other two have 4 leaves before I add anymore.

I have a pic post coming, uploading the pics right now...

Okay... some pics of the ladies and their roots.

The problem child (she's looking better but her root seems to have stopped growing, been a few days since I saw any change on it):

Yup, I finally got out in the snow today and got a better spray bottle since the one I had kind of just squirted instead of mist. I have misted them twice since I got home. Hopefully they're loving the rain showers rolling through there.

Going to work on getting a humidifier in there over the weekend to help out with the humidity because it is really low. I just hope the low humidity sticks around for flowering.

Mine will hover around 27% even with the two towels, cups of newspaper/washcloth wicks and bowls of water sitting around. It's dumb lol...

Really what part of the world u live in?
My humidity is higher not lower... during veg I maintained a 50-70% humidity and now in flowering its always around 50% Ive tried to get it to 40% but I cant??
My humidifier cost $40 bucks but theres a lot at walmart for like 19.99

I live right along the southern border of Midwest US. Humidity outside is 70%, it's just terrible in my house lol... I think I'm going to run and get my babies some presents at Walmart here in a minute. They could use some more bubbles in their tank as well. I've only been running one airstone.

Lol yeah... I just keep adding more things in there to increase humidity but it is still sooo low. Drives me nuts. The humidifier will take care of that though.

A buddy helped me out with a $25 cool mist humidifier from Walmart. So I have the ladies shut up in there with it going and it's at 50% and rising. Yay!

Like I said earlier, I got them some other presents. I got two more airstones that I'm going to throw in there tomorrow after they soak in some pH'd water.

I have a large oscillating fan in there on low pointed toward the wall since I have both doors shut. The fan is like a foot or less away from them. Will the air bouncing back from the wall burn them?

:peace:
