I'm still not sure, them pics are still mainly female flowers and like i said females can show male flower before they show there female flower when hermie'd in veg, for some reason male parts grow prolifically compared to female flower making it look like a male then growing buds outta the balls. I've seen this when using my own fem'd beans, grow balls everywhere before then turning hermie. I don't know how you could tell by looking at them they was male.The only true way to tell would be dna testing to see if it's truly a male. also I thought only the females carryed the hermie gene, thats why it's passed on when you make fem'd seeds.

I got 2 males outside I could try some silver on see what happens, I just never had a true male go hermie (why I find it hard to comprehend) but who's to say they can't.


Also in the middle of you massive post above, cannabis loves wet feet if it has the o2 to back it up, waterlogged soil doesn't hold much o2 it doesn't flow or drain enough, a hempy res that new water everyday in a pot smaller then a cup will have o2 for a day or two. Ive seen they sell air domes to put under your soil in the pot to help stop root rot by pumping air under your roots, that would help keep soil with enough air to water a lot more.
 
thanks for the info on the o2 and the roots, i was just curious how they liked to be in water so much and i mean they really like it, i looked at the roots just on the hempie and they have grown all over the place they are coming out of every hole and as soon as they hit the liquid they go mental and grow like crazy, im shocked at how quick they grow in water, no wonder hydro makes plants grow quicker and produce more yield, but the down side with hydro i have heard is that the end results are not as good taste wise as the soil grown crop.

you could be right about the hermie pictures been fem and gone male, its hard to say when its second hand info, i have read loads of times that males show sex first, well id have to disagree to some extent, i have grown a load of the same seeds and the females showed up to 2 weeks before the males, im not sure why this happened, all plants where the same age, clearly the males get taller quicker than the females as i had a good guess which was male and female based on growth and height and i only got 1 wrong out of 4 so it sort of works, but i still wouldnt throw them out before they actually showed sex just in case as the 1 i didnt get right must of been slow to grow and thats why i thought it was female when in fact it turned out male,

so im not sure why the fems showed sex way before the males, its usually the other way round.

a quick update ill try and not take up the whole page this time.
the buds on my biggest plants are really starting to form now, they was just loads of hairs at the ends of branches and nodes but their not now, the bud has started growing away from the stem and up towards the light so the buds at the minute are around 1 inch from top to bottom, im so amazed at the bud leaves, they are so perfect and a lot more defined than the fan or smaller plant leaves, the fingers are not as wide but they look amazing, also a the bud is getting longer im getting the sweet leaf growing in the bud and id say each bud at the moment has 3 sets of leaves growing out of it to give you some idea of bud size, im waiting a few days to take a picture so you can really notice the difference.

my auto thats in flower has had some minor surgery, it has been lst'd to promote the lower branches to grow, so i pulled the top of the plant lower than the stem as if it was running side ways, and over night all the tiny growths at the nodes have grown about an inch and are now the tallest part of the plant, so im letting them grow for another day then ill untie the lst, it seems the plant is showing sex and not doing much else, i can see the hairs at the end of the branches where the buds will form but they are not forming yet so hoping i can grow it a bit before it goes into full flower, the bottom branches have not shown sex yet and its these that shot up over night and became the top of the plant, so ill let the plant grow like that then ill undo the pipe cleaner and let the plant grow normally, im hoping this will increase yield as now the lower branches are really growing.

my 2nd auto is still growing, it has very fat and short leaves not like a normal plant, they are really stubby and really fat and this is also starting to slow down growth wise, so ill lst this to some extent to promote nodal growth, at the minute of just tied down the fan leaves as they was blocking anything below the top part of the plant, the leaves are that stubby and fat no light was getting into the rest of the plant so i tied them all to the stem and now light is getting in.

2 ltr hempie dwc has gone crazy, it drank half the nute water over night, the roots are everywhere and really growing now, its crazy how quick the roots grow like this, im thinking its because the floor of my grow room is warm, i have a small like shelf under the base that the plants are sitting on, so in their i have got my ballast and keep all the pipe cleaners and stuff like that, well the ballast keeps this area pretty warm, and it has warmed up the bit the plant pots are sitting on so im thinking the roots are loving the warmer temps so instead of the plants getting the warmth the roots are also getting warmed up to some extent by the ballast
 
So where's the pics at?? Anyways I know nothing about breeding but I don't think you'll want anything to do a with a male that's gone Hermie. Logically thinking, you want a female which is only an x chromosome to hermie and even though it grew male parts it still only has an x chromosome. Now you take the pollen from that plant and cross it with another x chromosome (normal female) plant and you come out with feminized seeds. The reason it works out that way is because your crossing two plants with only x chromosomes and you only are left with female genetics.

If you took a hermied male plant you'll have both the xy chromosomes (males always are xy) and when you breed it with a normal female (x) plant you will NOT end up with feminized seeds. Again I'm guessing this is the way it works from taking biology classes and I have no idea if I'm right so don't quote me. But thinking logically I'm pretty sure I'm right (but nature is not logical). And about the roots, just wait your going to be really surprised when you get the conditions perfectly the roots will explode.
 
thanks for the input, mate, ill get some pics up tomorrow. the buds are really starting to grow now. from the bottom of the bud to the top some are 2 inches long, looks totally amazing, the special kush is covered in trichs all ready, the buds on that look really short and fat, i think it must be to do with it been mainly indica, but the buds on the nl x bb fem are long and getting longer, its good to see the to types of plant side by side at the same stage, ill take loads of pics tomorrow.

major problem people, i went out at 10am, and got back at 9pm, their has been a power cut and the power just came on as i got in, like 10min after, i thought it was a problem with the wires or fuse box so went and checked the main breaker out in the hall where the other flats are and the neighbour came out and said its been off all day., now if i was in i would of put them near windows, but as these problems only happen when your out then i couldnt do that, but its on now, my problem is though, the lights should of came on at 12 noon and go off at midnight, well the lights are now on and been on since just after 9pm so will be going off at midnight giving only 3 hours daylight, im thinking its best to leave the timer to go off at normal time and not stress them anymore, or would i be better off giving them the full 12 hours light now then 12 off again and change the time it comes on and off on the timer, im thinking its best to leave it as it is and let it go off at 12am as usual, is this what i should do or not,

quick update on the others.
g13 poisen dwarf, 2 days ago i noticed the only part that was growing was the top bit, so i lst the top and pulled it down lower then the stem, in the 2days all the growth at the nodes has shot up so i untied the pipe cleaners and going to leave it at that, it looks like i have got 5 main tops with it now instead of the one, it seems getting these nodes to grow has got the whole plant growing again.

greenhouse seeds auto bomb fem, this auto looks amazing the leaves for some reason are really tough and rubbery, and the leaves look like their way to big for the stem of the leaf its as if the fingers on the leaf are really fat but the leaf hasnt spread out so the leaf are all curly, but it feels and looks amazing, its not growing as quick as a none auto seed but its growing quicker than the g13.

special kush and northern lights cross big bud fem, both these are well into flower, buds are really forming and getting big now, the special kush has started growing loads of trics all over the place, the nl is just producing buds and small amount of trichs, its good to see them side by side, now you know the bit on the special kush that you told me to cut off, well i didnt and now its getting fatter than all the other bud sites, the white hairs started growing back and not its as if its trying to catch up with the rest of the plant.

ak 47 cross uk cherry cheese, 2ltr hempie, i got back today and looked in the res and it was nearly empty so mixed up a new batch of bpn magic and gave it a good water to fill it back up, i also took 2 clones from this as well, the 2 bottom branches where getting on 2 inches long so i have chopped them and cloned using rooting gel, as these is in flower i hope its going to end up the same as super cropping cuz it must be around that age, the other nodes further up the plant are budding at the stem so ill leave them but the 2 lowest side branches had started growing out so i chopped and cloned, so hoping for 2 very nice plants, i really wanted to grow a full size one of these so i may now have got the chance with the clones.

ak47 cross in normal size pot 20-4 for 2 weeks then 12-12, this is the replacement for the male, i have lst it to get the nodes to grow but i wont be going mad with it, as soon as i see if its male or female then ill stop the lst and let it grow.

all my other clones are doing good still alive and still growing, 2 x ak47 seedlings are still growing slowly, im not giving them much light i wasnt planning on growing this many but the first few seeds didnt sprout but i threw them in the compost just in case then all the seeds did end up sprouting, so these are in a big weird shaped pot, it sort of has 4 pots in the corners so you could grow 1 plant in each corner, then this is all held by the pot in the middle, so its a sort of 5 plantter for putting 5 plants in, at the moment i have been starting my clones in it as its not very deep and also my seedlings and these are all under cfls but only a few just to keep them ticking over.

ak47 aerogarden, this plant has really started to grow since putting the air pump and stone in the res, im going to have to wire the light in the hood up to a timer so i can flip it 12-12, the only problem is the bulb in it is only the 1 spectrum so not sure how it will work when flowering, i have seen people use them for flowering, you usually grow things like tomatoes and herbs in them but i thought id give it a try been as i had it, after this has finished ill be removing the res and using it for keeping the clones in as i can have a lid to cover the base to keep it humid, i wasnt planning on the plant surviving due to me using some diy fish tank sponge to use as grow medium, well sort of, i cut a hole in the sponge and filled with compost and now all the roots have grown through the sponge and now their in the liquid their growing like crazy, i put the air stone in as the water pump is small and dont create much of a splash to keep the water full of oxygen,

ill try and put some pics up tomorrow, had to give the camera i was using to my mom but will get it back on tuesday.

i gota admit im so chuffed with how things are going but i really hope this power cut has not caused the plants to much stress.

im so proud of my little girl as well, she is 5 and does street dancing and she done a show at the cadburys place where they make the chocolate, their was loads of people their and loads of dance schools, my daughter did brilliant and i was so pleased for her, it gets to me sometimes as her mom was a profesional dancer and teached dancing but my daughter was to young when she past away so she never got to see her take up dancing, but she is a natural, really does take after her mom, so proud of her, had good day as well, first time in ages
 
like that is it mate, ill take some tomorrow, my g13 poisen dwarf has loved every minute of the 48 hour lst, all the growth at the nodes has shot up and in the 48 hours the growth from the node has gone from been new growth at the stem to been branches the same length as the whole plant, so now my g13 has got loads of growth now, and its looking like i have got 5 main stems from it, ive been told not to mess about with autos due to their rapid growth and flower but i think i have increased yield by more than 50% before the lst all i had was a stem 5 inches long with tiny bit of leaf growth at the nodes as soon as i lst the top of the plant and made the nodes the highest point the growth flipped from the tip to the nodes and even withing 24 hours the growth at nodes had grown a whole inch, so now instead of having 1 stem and pistils growing at the nodes, it has made the nodes wake up and grow, i undid the lst and let the top grow back up on its own, when it was level with the new growth it all started growing at the same rate, the plant has not started flowering more yet so im hoping its going to go a few more weeks, it has packed on pistils but it has not started forming buds, but i was going to kill this plant a few weeks back but now im glad i never, its still growing under 20-4, and when the hps is on it gets a few hours under the hps around 8 or 9 hours then it goes back under the cfls, so im pleased with how its turned out, i dont think its going to return loads but i think i have given it the best chance, it must be getting on 7 or 8 weeks old it should have flowered and harvested by now, ill just check the time the seed bank said from start to finish

ive been searching around at the strains im growing, now the special kush is pure indica and looks like it, the leaves and tight bud growth looks like pure indica

how ever what it says for the northern lights cross big bud femenised is that this plant is indica as well, im not to sure, unless they sent me the wrong seeds, the 2 plants are both opposites, the special kush had the fat indica leaves, the nl x bb had sativa leaves and the buds are growing like a pure sativa, im a bit confused because side by side the plants are totally opposite of each other, but on the seed banks it says their both indica

@teSmp, i got some pics of the 2ltr hempie dwc mate, so you can see the size, i need some advice on another couple of side branches, im not sure if i need to chop and turn them into clones or leave them and let them grow, ill post the pics n you can have a look and let me know whats best,

below is the problem G13 poisen dwarf, all i did was pull the top down lower than the node growth for 48 hours and the plant exploded with growth, now all the stems are main stems and the thin branches have got as thick as the main stem,

so as you can now see the G13 poisen dwarf is really starting to grow, it seems the small amount of lst work finally got it growing, so i should get a bit of bud off it now

below is green house seeds auto bomb femenised, i have this under hps for the 12 hours its on, then the rest of the time its under cfls, so in all its getting 20-4, the leaves seem really rubbery and thick, and the leaves seem to big for the stem their on so the leaves are curling up all over the place,

@ teSmp, here it is as promised mate, the 2ltr dwc hempie, the black part of the bottle is the top the soil is in, the bottom part is the size of a whole 2ltr bottle with the lid chopped off, i need to know if i need to take the other lower branches off as well, i took to off as they was getting long and used them as clones, but do i need to do the same with the other branches, pictures below

roots of the 2ltr hempie, looking very white so presuming that means their healthy, not added air stone full time yet, i did place one in their but need to get it fitted securely as the pump was making a loud buzzing noise so need to get something to put the pump on, some rubber or something to keep noise down.

well thats the lot, as you can imagine each time i open the grow room i get a smile on my face, the buds get bigger and bigger each day. the problem is looking at it every day i dont notice the difference, but when i looked back through my pics at the flowers and i was shocked, even the difference in the stunted auto is amazing,

not bad for a beginner, got plenty of people to thank for all the help and advice and teSmp for the nutes, so thanks brother,
let me know about the hempie if i need to remove them lower 2 branches or not, i dont mind removing them as they would add to my clone collection ready for the next round.

plus even more good news, out door temp is in the mid 20's so thats low 70's f, so im packing my bag tomorrow with some young plants, taking 2 with me, if my clones where big enough id take them but their not so ill take the chance with the unknown plants, both ak47 cross uk cherry cheese so hoping ill have 1 female, but time will tell, thats if they dont get eaten or spotted by any youth or anyone who would report or remove them, im hoping ive found somewhere out the way, so unless they end up 6 ft tall i should be ok, but i can top and lst them to some extent, so im packing my bag, 2 young plants, some compost, water nute mixture, some stakes to support in case it gets to windy and some chicken wire to cover the young plants with so prevent anything eating them, so all been well tomorrow i should have some outdoor plants to add to my collection, so im taking the dog for a walk so i look like a normal person walking a dog,

Those flower sites are all looking even and plentiful! Just what you want to see.

That NL/Big Bud cross reminds me of my original Blue Cheese plant when it was at that stage. Turned out to be a great producer and the bud was great, so you will likely be seeing some impressive medicine coming out of that plant!

Everything else is looking really nice and healthy too!

thanks gg7, im so chuffed i managed to get what i have got, and to think that right up to 2 weeks into flower i was using cfls, so i couldnt of really asked for more, i think switching to the hps to finish off has improved my chances of a good yield, the cfls would of got me results but i was using the same amount of watts and the hps was giving more lumins for the same watts so i made the switch, im so glad their filling out now and the buds are getting bigger and bigger, im not expecting much my first time round, but anything will make me chuffed, but im sure next time round ill improve and increase yield, so i may not get much this time round, but next time im hoping to up the end results, but i am more than happy with what i have achived and all the hard work is finally paying off.

but i wouldnt of done it on my own, ive learned so much from been part of this site, the members are amazing and i have made some amazing friends, way to many to name, its good to be able to freely talk about these plants without having to look over my shoulder and worry about who knows what, i owe a lot to everyone who helped me with advice and kind words,
BPN products totally changed the way my plants grew, they went from being slow growing and looking a bit lame, and withing 48 hours the growth shot up and the plants really took off, so i got tesmp to thank for hooking me up with bpn, im saving for new time round, i think its worth paying the high postage costs, after how my plants responded to coreys magic i dont think i could find anything else that would give them kind of results, or id spend a load of money trying different products in my country to even try and find something that works, but i dont think i would find anything, so ill keep saving, i should have enough for my next grow and even the grow after, i know if i do a load of dwc hempies then the bpn will be used up, so i may try and find something i can use with the dwc and just use the bpn for the soil grows, i dont think ill go hydro as i could get labeled a comercial grower and i cant take that risk, but a few plants grown in soil is more a personal grow so thats how im going to grow, i may do a few hempies mixed in and see how it goes, but for now im happy with what i have got, i got enough clones for the next grow and possibly the grow after, i got some seeds i can use as well,

so ive got plans for the future but i need to make sure this grow and harvest goes without any problems, then hopefully ive got enough meds to stop me buying from people i dont really want to be having much to do with, i hate putting money in their pockets knowing they use it on things that make gangs what they are, so if i can cut that part out of the routine then ive achieved what i set out to, and producing my own meds to make my life better is all i set out to do,

i take a huge risk doing what i do, but i do it for my own benefit and not just to get wasted, i take loads of prescribed meds that are real addictive and im cutting them down with a view to stopping, so having my own daily supply of meds will make it a whole lot easier, these plants are the only meds that work, when i get used to prescribed tablets they keep upping the dose and it does me or anyone around me no good, so stopping them meds is the best thing that could happen,
its just about time my country woke up and done some research, all they do is base their info on the people who smoke it to get high, they dont think of the people who smoke it for medical use and thats where the problem is, all they see is gangs selling and kids getting high, but thats a mile away from people who smoke it and grow it for medical purposes, what ever i get yield wise wont be sold, i wont be passing it on to anyone, i may have a smoke with a close friend, but i certainly wont be giving it to any kids or people who solely use it just to get high, i see that as a waste when i can use it myself to help me have a better life,

thanks for the kind words gg7, im doing the best i can with what i have got, i dont expect much back from this grow, but anything is better that nothing, im not a heavy use and an 1/8th will last me a couple of days, i got kids so stay on the level all day and have a smoke on the night when the kids are asleep and i can have a bit of my time and unwind and help me feel better, and giving me a good nights sleep, its far better than any med the docs can prescribe me, so if i can get enough to last me a few days then ill be more than happy,

thanks mate, well into flower now, i got my 2 big plants in flower, the hempie in flower and 1 auto in flower, the big plants should finish first unless the auto catches up, so i should be harvesting them first, i got a long way to go though and a lot can happen between now and then, touch wood that the weed gods are with me and watching over me with this grow, its been a long learning curve, seems growing weed got a whole lot more advanced and technical than back in the day, all i dont in past was stick a clone in a pot with 18-6 and some miracle grow liquid nutes, then veg and switch to 12-12 and wait for the results, but it seems now that its a whole lot more to it, but i think im getting their now, and if it means i dont need to pay for my meds then im happy with that, now expecting huge return, id be happy if i got half oz in total from all the plants, but im sure my next grow will only be better, i want to try a grow from day 1 under the hps, so ill flower off what i got in flower now, which is, special kush, nl x bb femenised, g13 poisen dwarf auto, ak47 hempie, ak 47 12-12 from seed none hempie, green house seeds auto bomb femenised, then i got some more to go strait into flower when these are done or the 2 biggest are done, then i want to try vegging some plants under hps for a while and get some big plants, so ill possibly veg some clones and mother one of each strain under the cfls to keep them ticking over, so once both these flower rounds are done ill try planting some seeds, not sure what they seeds or strain are like but i got the following if anyone has grown them give me a shout.

2 x reserva privaded sour kush femenised, also knows as head band im told
2 x ak47 cross uk cherry cheese regular seeds
1 x afgan skunk femenised
1 x californie skunk haze regular
2 x big bud#2
i have no idea what these strains are or what to expect, but i would love to have something really fruity for daytime smoke and something to knock me out at night time, but im not sure what them strains are like so what i want to do is try and choose 3 plants to grow from seed at the same time from start to finish under hps, the femenised seeds would be the best choise but not knowing about the strains id be unsure what to expect, or my other option would be to veg 3 of them for a while then 2 weeks before i switch to flower do say 2 or 3 hempies and add them to the grow room say 2 weeks before flower to get them growing and then switch to 12-12 then id have some decent sized plants plus what ever hempies turned out fem.

im hoping the ak47 cross is a nice smoke as the plant looks amazing, i loved it from day 1, i also loved the big bud #2 but it went hermie on me so waiting for the pollen to cross with something either this time round or next, the big bud#2 looked the best plant from day 1 and it grew so bushy, twice as bushy as the other plants, but its in a new home growing out some pollen for me, so when its collected ill be finding a way of getting some seeds without ruining the whole crop, im possibly thinking about vegging a clone till its big enough to seed then flip it 12-12 then put it in another grow room under a couple of cfls while i apply the pollen then leave it for say 48 hours after adding pollen then give it a good water down with a spray of water to remove any pollen then put it back into the flower room, but im not planning on doing it with what i got in flower now unless i try it with the auto and get myself some auto fem, it sure would be good to get a cross with the big bud#2 not sure if it would still be an auto though, or possibly it would still be an auto but it may veg for longer before flowering due to it been crossed with the big bud#2

so tomorrow ill be starting my guerilla outdoor grow, i got my bag packed, its got all i need in it, all i got to do in the morning is dig up 2 newly grown plants and take the dog for a walk, i will document it here but it wont be often due to me having little to do with it apart from if it gets really dry and hot then ill water it, but the less i go to the plants the less chance i have got of anyone following my tracks or watching where i go, i have found a good spot, its out of the way and boggy ground has to be walked over to get to it, and ive checked and knowbody goes their, i set little traps (not the kind that hurt people) so i could see if anyone walked anywhere near where i want to plant, i had plants blocking the most obvious path and twigs stuck in the ground that would of been moved if anyone had been their, and for 3 weeks no one has been their, but the summer is here and more people will be out and about and i live in a city so dont have miles and miles of outdoor space, but their is a nice walk area that covers hundreds of acres so im hoping the place i have chosen is well out the way, ill be setting traps and if any look like they have been moved then i wont go near the plants and ill set some more traps and only if they have not been moved will i go to the plants, if they are moved again ill leave them where they are and cut my losses, but im hoping to check on them say every 2 or 3 weeks and lst and top if needed, but its hot now so im hoping they will grow, all been well i should have some very nice plants, so ill keep you all updated on the outdoor grow, ill take pics tomorrow of me planting them, im not making a huge loss if small animals eat them or anyone finds them, ive got 2 many plants in veg, i have got 2 ak47 cross that are grown from seed and have pretty much been growing really slow as my veg room is not set up for vegging plants properly so they have been ticking over and growing slowly so im hoping they are rooted enough to survive so ill take some stakes with me in case the weather gets bad, but all been well ill have an outdoor grow, might not even have a female, but i got 50-50 chance of 1 of them if not both
