First CFL Grow Using 30 Watt CFLs

hi miwa, what you mean trim, when i harvest the plants are you on about, nope i will be doing it all on my own, knowbody apart from people on here that is know i grow anything, plus this is the first plant in 9 years, i never had the time or chance to start a grow till this one, so i will be trimming it all myself, why you ask, i dont like the job but someone gota do it, the stick cutting tools dont help and getting all sticky dont help when i have a thing about been sticky, i dont even let the kids near me when they got anything sticky, they get plastered in it and until their clean, they aint climbing all over me covering me in sticky sweet mess, cant stand it, something i have hated for as long as i can remember, if i eat a chocolate in bed or some sweets and i get my hands slightly sticky then i have to get up and give them a clean and sometimes get up again and do it again to make sure its all gone,

mr muds tea sounds amazing and he got amazing results, loads of ingredients but looking at the results its worth trying.

so for my grow, the only person who does know is my mom and sister but i dont see them often, my sister has a smoke every now and again so ill be sampling the buds with her when i go to my moms after harvesting, apart from that i dont tell anyone my business, its the best way, i dont like taking risks that i can avoid
 
Looking Good DP, I second Tesmp's call, but I would not put the water above the cap right away, if the water hits the medium, you can drown your roots in the top half when the plant is younger. If they're older and drinking a ton, it doesn't matter much. My biggest plant drinks the whole res in one day, and the smaller ones (started at the same time) drinks nothing from the res, only gets top fed. I guess all phenos are different.
 
thanks for the info, i can raise or lower the top half as it slides up and down in the bottom piece so ill raise it so the top it still draining into the bottom until its grown a bit, but its showing sex all ready and looks like its in flower, the 4 headed 2ltr is not in flower or showing sex but their the same age, i also a the same seed started same day in bigger pot and thats not in flower either so not sure whats going on, im just putting some pics up

below is special kush top left, nl x bb fem top right, in the center square white pot is the greenhouse auto bomb fem, its not showing sex yet though, next to it in next square pot is g13 poisen dwarf, this is in flower or showing sex, before it showed sex it was pretty dormant and very slow to grow at all, now its showing sex its starting to grow so im not killing it off cuz im pleased with the growth after 48 hours so think the strain has some gene that makes it grow rapid in flower and pretty much no growth during flower, could this be to do with the area that its grow in, is it light pretty much 20 plus hours a day or the opposite and 4 hours of light mostly dark, as im sure these grow under them conditions where the ruderalis grow native if i read it right, so would where it came from cause this to happen, growth was none existent from day 1, it had no stem at all and the leaves grew at ground level and each node was 1 or 2mm taller than the one below so it had 4 nodes at just over an inch high from the ground, but now its in flower the nodes have new growth and its growing faster and faster now, the pistils are longer than some of the branches, their twice as long and 3 times as fat as the pistils on my other flowering plants, seems really crazy but i like the way its starting to look
then the little round pot in bottom right hand corner is the ak47 cross uk berry cheese, this is the same age as both hempies and the only 1 in flower is the 1 hempie the others have not shown sex yet all where planted same day.

now we got to the ak47 cross uk cherry cheese or berry cheese 2ltr dwc hempie, not added air stone at this stage dont think i need it just yet, this is the one in flower

i also really like how every single one of these ak47 looks really heathy and all the leaves are identical and perfect opposites to each other on all plants, they seem really good and healthy plants to grow

my question is, do i do anything to it now or is it best to leave it not its in flower, i know your not meant to have side branches on hempie but i dont think the branches are growing that much so is it best to leave it and let it flower as it is, or am i going to get more if i do cut some off, never grown like this before so not sure what im doing, i just know i could fit say 100 or these in my grow space so want t see the yield per plant then i can decide if i get more like that or more with bigger plants

plus took the dog for a walk and he ran up to a bench and wouldnt move, i went and grabbed him and he had is nose on the ground and he wouldnt move, then i bent down to grab his collar and spotted a bag, i looked and it had 1 big bud in it, a good 2 spliffs worth, couldnt believe it, i picked it up and the dog just walked off, so i think i got myself a sniffer dog, wasnt hard to train, just give them a small plant to it and their hooked, mine ate one plant now eats anything green but spits it out when its not weed, he never done this before wasnt interested in anything green, now he tries eating every bit of grass and weed,
 
soz left some out these below are the 2ltr hempie in flower and you can see how big the bottle is not got air stone in yet, got my other 2ltr hempie to sort out with new bottom bottle, hopefully the bigger the better, so the only picture that is not the hempie is my flower room and any bud shots, the rest are all the ak47 cross uk cherry cheese

do i keep the node growth or lose it and aim for 1 bud like it should be, but its shown sex and think its in flower so would i lose yield by cutting the new branches off or should i lose them

love the way this ak looks for some reason, seems to look really good, would love to grow a big one and think ill veg 1 out i got growing and see what it gives me

where the image stops on the bottle at he top, well the bottom half is about an inch and a half higher than the sticker, so you can see how big the res is, ive not added air stone at this stage only put them in the new bottles today to give me more root growing room

this is how tall it is and this is in flower i think it has got well developed pistils with a bud forming at the base, so think it is in flower, plus the top of the stem has loads of white hairs where the new leaf growth should be

below is the other 2ltr hempie thats not in flower but this one got to close to the light and got frazzled, all its leaves wilted and died and i had to top it as the top inch had wilted and was hanging down the plant, so it lost its leaves and was topped at the same time, now it has 4 tops fighting for growing room, might open them all up slightly to give them all the light that each one can get instead of been tangled up, would be nice if they could stay tangled and all 4 buds joined together to make one fat bud with 4 stems,

plenty of pics to look at and comment on, thanks for looking, my plants are getting interesting all of a sudden, im just waiting for the hermie to give me pollen then one or 2 bud sites will be pollenated and will be giving me fem seeds for a future grow, if it dont open in time then ill try and freeze the pollen for next flower round

im just trying to put some pics up of a close up of a leaf using my 60x eye thing, it has normal led light and uv light setting, but dont think the camera is up to the job of showing decent pics
 
getting their now fish cake, been a long learning curve but everything seems ok so far, its just getting interesting now i got buds forming,
 
just testing the microscope, only cost me 99p, it seems good when im using it and it has 2 settings, uv and normal, its made to check bank notes or something like that, its says x60 and seems ok when you holding it yourself, but its crap for taking pictures through
anyways here is a leaf i pulled off when they was in veg, im trying to decide if im looking at small trichs or not, or is it dust or hairs, some pics have hairs in like where the leaf stem meets the leaf crazy mass of hair as if the leave was glued to the stem with loads of fine hairs

its these im wondering what they are, are they something else or just trichs, bearing in mind this leaf was not under 12-12 so it shouldnt be in flower, no plants showed sex under 20-4 so not sure what it is

I would not trim the side growth on the small flowering ones, that will turn into the bottom of the bud, won't it? But I'm just a noob ;)
 
i dont trim nothing now its in flower, i have been told not to take any leaves off during flower, them pics are of leaf off one of the plants in veg, i wont take any off the flowering plants for the reason mentioned above, but during veg i take a small amount to make sure the lower and inner branches are getting the light, i think doing this has given me the even canopy ive got on my 2 flowering plants
 
Right there with you on that. I thought you were asking about taking branches off to get one kola.
 
i was mate, but on the 2ltr hempie dwc, most people grow these to be 1 cola and cut off any side brances so that all you get is buds growing at the nodes and not branches, in theory it gives you one big bud instead of loads of smaller buds, one bud on 2ltr hempie can be anything up to an oz, but im doing it from seed and the one has just gone into flower so dont think the side branches will get big anyway,

i got 2x 2ltr hempies growing, both the same age from seed, and also the same strain in a bigger pot still under 12-12 from seed just comparing yield, the 2ltr hempies are a fast turnover and i could fit about 100 in my grow room, so im not sure if i should trim the node growth or side branches on the one that is not in flower and leave the one in flower alone, it wont be the leaf im cutting off but each new branch grown, which could possibly be cloned, and it then leaves you with 1 big bud as the plant puts everything into growing the one stem, but the one in flower ill think ill leave alone, not sure about the 4 headed hempie, should i cut the side growth before it goes into flower and let it focus growth on the 4 heads it has now got
 
Me...i would cut the side growth...you send energy to the top plus you have cloning material...i ash you about trimming because thats the way i do it...after 8 last summer i have never been so tired...good grow you got going...i never grew 12-12 from seed...about how long to harvest...do the top of the cola tric develope 1st...can i cut half and let the other half trics develope...
 
na those are little stem hairs they help catch air for the plant :) the trics will look like a stick with a mush room on top :) and it wil ether be cloudy clear or amber also they might be light bent kinda cuz there growing :)
 
Yeah if you have any side branching (on your flowering 2L's) that are over 1.5" long I would cut it right off.. It's going to end up being just a popcorn bud or a little larger but it's better just to focus on the large main cola. And yes again I'm talking about the flowering plant. I don't trim the side branches off during veg, after 21 days of flower (really when the stretching stops) I go around the 2L's and like I said take off anything that is not shorter then 1.5" and that doesn't have node spacing between 0-1.25" or else your going to end up with a large gap between your main bud. The little Purple Kush plant I have never branched out and it is 12.5" long (the bud) and it's only 14" tall. The larger Purple Kush plant that stretched didn't put out side branching but it has a bud on the top and on the bottom and I just left it completely alone and we'll see what happens with that. The Giesel I'm flushing and it was my first 2L and I left some of the lower popcorn type buds right below the main cola. They'll way a few grams a piece but I would have rather the plant devote it's energy into the main cola (which is fat already).
