FelipeBlu's Auto Jack & Kryptonite, PSMini LED, Root Pouch, Recipe 420

Thanks Shed! Yeah, the pliers, and the wire, and the string - all constant reminders...:love:

Yes, I looked at my photos again, and decided to go ahead and have another session with Miss K. Node 3 stems now bend to my will:

Okay folks, it’s an exciting day at Casa Blu. Even though the seeds are supposedly feminized, it’s gratifying to see the plant prove its sex. And Krypta is doing just that - showing her white feathery pistils and petite calyxes, from the 4th node up, on Day 22.

And Jackie is starting to pick up the pace, pushing out her 5th and 6th nodes. You’d think it was the end of the world the way she’s pouting. But I just gave her a drink/feeding, with 2ml/l each of Dyna-Gro ProteKt and Grow. I’ll check in later, but she will probably be perky again in a bit.

Thanks for visiting and sharing this happy day! :thanks:

Evening update
Jackie is perky again, as predicted:

And I always have time for another session with Miss K. Her main stem was getting a little uppity, so I brought her focus back to the right inclination, with a new string under the 7th node. I also did a little leaf tucking. At this point, I think the plant needs as much leaf surface as possible. Within my parameters, of course.
Much better:

Have a great night!

Thanks fellas! I owe it all to studying many of the masters/mistresses here on 420! :Namaste:

This afternoon's session with Miss K (Day 23) was about her 4th node stems. Plus tightening all the other bonds, of course.

And Jackie (Day 18) got a little tightening also. She is already starting to smell a little dank.

Okay, things are kinda settling into minor adjustments to the LST. You folks can see that things are generally going according to plan, so I think I will back off on the daily photo dump, unless Jackie shows her sex, or some other more interesting development. Meanwhile, that 2nd node stem on Miss K (Day 24) almost looks like a second apical, without topping.

Jackie (Day 19) is starting to require more attention. I worked on spreading the stems from the first two nodes, and snugged the main stem closer to the ground.

Got it. That’s why I’m letting the side stems go a bit, and keeping the main apical down still.

Now, a question for you Auto pros. The Kryptonite is growing out her 8th node, and just started showing pistils. How much longer should I train for flatness before letting the main, in particular, go vertical into the stretch? IOW, how many more veg days/weeks until stretch?

It has begun!
The stretch seems different for the strains I have grown.
I have a strain called Kickass that was only supposed to be 50cm tall.
It is only in a .75g container and is easily 4 feet tall.
It really stretched fast too. Leaving a lot of space between nodes.
In just a few weeks she was taller than her older sisters.:goof:

The others it was growing with, did it slowly over a month.

The new ones are just starting, so I'll try to keep track of those numbers. :geek:

Okay, I think what I'm hearing is that, from the moment I see pistils, I should take this as a sign of the beginning of stretch. But I should continue to train (until?). The reason I asked this is because, on my last grow, I continued pulling the main stem over during the stretch, for too long, I guess. Because the main cola ended up inclined, and unbalanced, with more bud growth on the top side. I want to train all stems sideways until the last minute, so that I can still get at least 6-8" colas during the last spurt of vertical growth. I'm guessing that would probably be in a couple of weeks?

Meanwhile, Jackie has graciously shown that she is indeed female. Pistils at the 5th node on Day 19/20 (yesterday noon)! :cheer::circle-of-love:

As you can see, I found a new use for the serpentinite rock I initially bent her over.

Shed, I grok now. I remember now from the last Auto, that there was a point, at the 8th node I believe, where buds started at the junction, instead of stems. From that point, there were another 4-5 nodes on the main stem, but only sugar leaves and buds were formed from there to the tip of the main cola.

Thanks ECG! I take that as very respectable praise, coming from you! :thanks:

I see now why the node position was important. :geek:
It seems to be pretty uniform with my others too.

Around node 7 or 8 they change structure and coalesce.
I tend to not count the very bottom ones in some cases. :blalol:
