FelipeBlu’s Outdoor Hempy Photos & Autos 2020

Lovely looking plants Felipe. The rats sounds a right pain in the butt tho. Here in NZ there is rat/stoat trap that resets itself after each rat, up to 24 times then you replace the gas canister, so it can kill multiple rats in one night, for what it's worth, the brand name is 'Goodnature' and the rat model is the A24.

wow felipe you have a beautiful piece of land there. the outdoor garden looks awesome and that vertical scrog is going to be sick. do you have a lot of coyotes around there?

Thanks Politoed! :Namaste:

Oh yeah - lots of coyotes. There’s even a den up the hill that turns out 2-4 each year. But we still get rats down around the houses - lots of gardens, neglected fruit trees, garbage, and pet food.

Thanks for that tip, Stunger!:high-five:
I’ll check it out.

Well, on Tuesday evening, after I sprayed BeBo1 down, she was sprawled out like a dead octopus.
I can relate. Lately my plants have been insatiably thirsty. I typically feed/water every other day, but lately by the next day the leaves are droopy and need some garden hose water to get them by until the next day's feeding. :meatballs:

I’m a water boy this year! BeBo1 is now taking 2 gallons in the morning and 3 gallons in the afternoon/evening. And BeBo2 and GLGA are both taking nearly a gallon twice a day.

Then there’s the tomatoes and peppers taking about a half gallon twice a day.

I’m not complaining - really, what else am I going to do at home all day? lol

What surprised me in the videos was to see rats crawling right over the pile of other rats to get to the trap. And here I’ve been concerned about putting the trap back in the same spot the next night!

I’m actually pretty happy with my $5 Tom Cat traps. They get it done, and as long as the tomatoes are protected, I don’t mind if it takes a couple of weeks. My neighbor has an electronic trap, and he’ll get 2-3 in a night.

If it gets really bad, I’ll break out the baking soda bait. That made the coyotes happy last year - to suddenly find a bunch of dead rats on the other side of the fence!

Sweet looking system. A little pricey for me at 277.00 CAD but I can see it paying for itself if you have a real problem. Thanks for that Stunger.
A straight conversion from the shop price here of NZD$199 is somewhere around CAD$170, so they must whack a few taxes on. But I agree it is certainly a much higher cost than a corner store spring trap, you've got to really use it a lot for that. They are big over here for protecting native birds and their eggs from rats/mice/stoats, which have only been recent introductions to the country, as some of the native birds are flightless after evolving with no predators.

My concern here, and I have had a few rats, is when I was using the normal snap traps I caught two chipminks so I had to stop that. Apparently chipminks eat pretty much anything rats do
I didn't see anything about the A24 catching chipmunks but I can see them getting their heads knocked around up here. Again, I love the idea but I'd feel real bad seeing Alvin and the Chipmunks not breathing with black eyes. :cheesygrinsmiley:

If chipmink (chipmunks?) are like rats, and don’t have the capability of handling digestive gas, then you definitely don’t want to use the baking soda mix* - it’s deadly, and not in a pretty way!

*Equal parts flour, sugar, and baking soda, with a bit of hot chocolate powder

Chipmunks are like little squirrels but smaller and cuter. They can wreck havoc too as they are burrowers and make some pretty funky tunnels, but for the most part nothing like the damage a rat does.

Oh, most rodents are cute - even bunnies and skunks - but when it comes to growing my herb - look, they have the whole frickin mountain - so they can leave my plants alone - or face the consequences. :rip:

Here’s some evening views of the beginnings of the scrog around the perimeter support
It's gonna look amazing once that cage is filled with big fat buds.
Do you already have a weight estimate of the harvest you'll pull in?
I'm going to guess about 18 oz, but until she has some buds to show, it's hard to tell. I might change my guess in a month. :nerd-with-glasses:

Great photo, Sauga! Looks exactly like the two in our backyard. Felonious (my husband) hates squirrels because they can cause so much damage but he loves chipmunks. As far as I know, we don't have rats. We do have raccoons and sometimes deer though. My husband hates raccoons even more than he hates squirrels.
