FelipeBlu’s Outdoor Hempy Photos & Autos 2020

IKR! It looks like the rot started on the top side of the junction too. The only way I can think this might have happened is if the dowel could have been jammed upward into the branch, and that subsequently bruised/damaged tissue on the opposite side, when it got compressed against the trunk.
But I really can’t recall when that could have happened. :smokin2:

And a few hours later, the branch is recovering enough to reach for the window

Thanks, but at this point, I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it. I suppose if it does root, I could treat it like an Auto, because it will continue flowering unless I provide supplemental light.

Hmmm, I suppose I could cut it down shorter and keep it as a clone mother over the winter. That only requires a 23W CFL, right? Doesn’t even have to be continuous, right? I should be able to set the timer to give it a half an hour every 4 hours, and that will keep it growing slowly, and prevent flowering.

Great shot and scene-setting!

You can do that with intermittent light?? I had no idea!

What a vascular system! From falling off the plant in full wilt to looking like it’s ready to keep pushing out new growth..

Such a vigorous strain! I really want to keep this one going. I wonder what would happen if I added a little Clonex solution to the water...

I don’t know either lol! But it makes sense, according to what I have read about the trigger for flowering being the uninterrupted accumulation of the hormone florigen during darkness.

From HERE

“Florigen is the key hormone in the cannabis plant that promotes flowering. The plant’s system starts producing florigen when the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer.”

So I surmise that if one interrupted the dark cycle, florigen would not accumulate enough to trigger flowering.

And since I’m not interested in much growth during the winter, 3 hours of direct light per day should be enough to keep her going. I’ll have to chop her down to a more manageable size though.

Well, keeping that 2-1/2 ft branch was not really feasible, so I cut it down to 6 cuttings, that I’ll keep in water for now. Makes a nice bouquet.

BTW Heavenly, the artwork is a Varez woodcut print we lucked upon during the ‘91 total eclipse on the Big Island. I cherish it.

Ive never had any luck in water with any plant of any kind.

Well now, some may view that as a discouraging comment, but I choose to consider it a challenge! lol

I remember, at one time, my Mom had glass jars all over the place, with all kinds of plants from neighbors and friends rooting in water. Some of them would get pretty murky before she would change the water. :thedoubletake:

I want to be able to see the roots in fairly clear water, so I think I will change it about once a week.

Amazing! Yeah I would love to know/see the minimum amount of light intake/photosynthesis that would allow them to subsist in this way
