FelipeBlu’s Outdoor Hempy Photos & Autos 2020

I’ve seen roots come out in just plain water for lots of growers and once myself. It just takes a while longer, it seems. For me it took almost a month.
I could be wrong since the odds usually favor that, but I do believe sister VG has had success cloning in just water. She was close to a month as well... I think.

And plain water in a transparent container FTW! I’m glad that’s the approach I took. I thought about putting a bit of Clonex in for nutrition, but the vid indicates that to be the slowest of all the methods attempted.

Today, a 2-week progress report

BeBo1 - 40” above perlite (+11” in 2 weeks). I’ve noted that the weight of some of the outside branches is causing them to spread - a little self-LST, so that she continues to widen. She’s now 56”W x 68”L (1.42m x 1.73m).

BeBo2 - 38” above perlite (+10” in 2 weeks). Continues to thrive despite losing a major secondary branch.

GLGA - 34” above perlite (+8” in 2 weeks) - lost its topiary look and getting shaggy on top.

I’m going to get some support up around BeBo1 this week. Unfortunately, it will mean the end of pulling the tub around to stay in the best sun. But the stretch may require substantial restraint.

I hope you can hang loose this week! :surf:

RATS! We live on open space, and therefore, we have rats. They love cannabis buds. That’s one reason I grow tomatoes - the smell of the ripening tomatoes brings em out before the cannabis starts flowering. I wrap the tomatoes to protect them (leaving it open at the top so they can breathe overnight), and put out the traps. By the time the cannabis blooms, my neighbor and I have decimated the local rat population.
Got an acrobat this time.

So you have this problem every year and it appears there is a finite number of the rodents? You do have a whole mountain behind your home so I guess that's the source? I know you have this handled. :rip:

I’m afraid that they aren’t quite finite, but if you catch enough females, you can knock em down to the point that the local population starts leaving our plants alone. Last year, we caught over 30 before that happened.

Nice tomatoes! :passitleft: Now that is a rat! You need a couple big snakes or a good terrier. Didn't know they ate buds. We had a ground squirrel problem a couple years back and a gopher snake moved in and no more problem. Stay safe and stay stoned

A gopher snake would be sweet! But where there’s gopher snakes, there’s also rattlers. Fortunately, in 13 years here, we haven’t seen either - just little pink smoothnose snakes under pots, which are actually good for termite control. I think I’ll stick with the traps.

Oh, and thanks Fred! :passitleft:

Every once in a while I get a tomato half-eaten by something (rats, squirrels, raccoons, opossums), but never noticed anything bothering my cannabis. Fortunately, rats are at a minimum here... probably helps that I have 3 cats that spend their days outside.

Can't even tell it lost a branch! Your plants are looking fantastic!! :adore:

Damn Felipe, those outdoor girlz are 'UUGE!!!!!!' Impressive as hell what you did with that wilted piece detritus, bringing that one back to the light, NICE!!!!!!

As for the Rat... AHHH YEAHH!!!! They have a place but not in my garden. I'm surprised the 3 beasts in the back didn't scare him to death!

I decided to forego the outdoor growing this summer. I think my gardener (I just fired) intentionally brought bugs into my yard and tried to sabotage all my plants, he threw dog shit in the pool too. I let him finish the month and then gave him a check and told him he was doing a good job. I then canceled the check, changed the lock on my gate, and left him a very positive message. Seriously, I used my most positive and upbeat phone voice!

"Hey Adolfo, it's Age, over on Calle Calle Calle. Listen, You're Fired! Have a great weekend!"

I left the message on a Tuesday too...

Seriously - dog shit in the pool? :thedoubletake:

He could have said something like, "Fuck you! You arrogant prick! Do your own gardening, ASSHOLE! I quit" Of course I don't think his lexicon is at that level, in either of the languages he speaks.

Yeah Felipe dog shit... I've been getting baked and cleaning my pool tiles, they're real calcified! So, I'm in the pool almost every day for a coupla few hours. I know the difference between leaves and dog shit. I grabbed my kids goggles just to be sure. I'm not worried about the excrement, the pool is chlorinated and my pool dude is on site twice a week. I did get an extra visit that week though.

It's weird he hasn't come by to turn in the key or get that $$$ either. He knows what he did. BTW: today was his usual day to throw shit in the pool, so we'll see if cruises by...:dude-knocking:

Ohh Age...does your gardener know about your past outside grows? He might just check by around harvest time next year..

Now, repeat after me - I must not lose my temper and piss off other people - because I am a grower!

And it’s really easy for people to F with my outdoor grow.
:rip:

Plants are looking great Felipe. Those three look like some serious muscle, and they've not even stretched yet.

I had no idea rats could be partial to a bit of bud, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, they're smart creatures.

I don't think any can get into mine, but they're around. It's not unusual to see one on my way to work in the morning. They use the over head telephone/power cables as their own personal highway, and I live in an urban environment. Quite freaked me out the first time I saw one up there.

:Namaste:

Thanks Piña!

I mentioned before that I spray the plants down every couple of days. They are out of the direct sun by about 7PM, but it is still hot and dry. By dark, they are dry again. This seems to keep the bugs down - so far. I will still be doing it during early to mid flower, since we typically have low afternoon humidity through September.

Well, on Tuesday evening, after I sprayed BeBo1 down, she was sprawled out like a dead octopus. She recovered soon enough, but for a while, she was about 6-1/2 feet wide by close to 8 feet long. Shades of flop to come. So tonight, I got her fence up around her. By leaving it open at the bottom for ease of fertigation, I was able to provide support up to 7-1/2 feet.

In addition to letting the middle stems get (hopefully) big colas, I plan to do a vertical scrog around the perimeter, to get a bunch of golf balls.

It was primarily because of the wet leaves/stems, but she was starting to get too wide for the space. It was past due. I just had to get it done. The cool of the twilight was wonderful for working on this.
