Fanleaf Tries For A TLO, True Living Organics, Grow With 6 Plants

I dont like the dehydrator idea at all really since it uses heat. While my freeze dryer cost was close to 4k, using extremely cold temps and vacuum, it perfectly preserves a bunch of those things that I think we lose in our normal cure process. That said, I believe there are desired chemical reactions that do take place in our standard properly done dry and cure.

I agree. although it was fun and terp heavy, it needed something. Gorgeous finished product though. NIce video.

Yep, cool video....sucky camera for it though :cheesygrinsmiley:.
I agree, if we could get the best of both worlds....freeze dried with a traditional cure I think we would have the best weed ever known to man!

Well, today I'll give an update on the autoflower experiment first.
They were getting a bit dry in the first few inches of soil so I decided to break out the EW leachate.
I wanted to start out very cautious with it so I decided I would dilute it 100:1.
20ml leachate

2 liters of RO water with added Mycos
to the 20ml of EW Leachate.

As you can see, even at 100:1 it's pretty rich in color. I hope this will help inoculate the soil with millions of new microbes. The 2 liters got split up evenly over the 3 autos.

Its funny too, the Blueberry auto, you can already see purple in it even though it's still a seedling! The Dark Devil is the biggest one and the one (Pineapple Express) who had some sort of deformity is straightening up.

My half ass effort of training is not looking too bad actually.
If the canopy is this evenly filled in veg, imagine what's possible in flower.

I am starting to build the flowering pots right now. I may be doing the fi al transplant tomorrow..

We will see.

...howdy Fan... :ciao:...just stumbled across this today...I'm caught up and in for the rest of the ride...this year will be my third organic run...I use promixHP,ewc and sea compost as my base and a lot of the same amendments as you and some similar, based on sourcing without an arm and a leg..., although since legalization, availability has improved...I don't follow the layered format however, but also use aerated teas and top dressing... new for me this year will be a blurple free room and four plants are going to be run in Doc Bud's "kit" soil...luvving your attention to detail!...:thumb::high-five:...cheerz...h00k...:hookah:......oh, I have a lil' preliminary project just a week old that includes 2 DDA's and an A5 X Killer Haze in my soil, although not really documented, so I'll be watching your autos...

Welcome h00k! Very happy to have you sit in. I'm going to have some pretty suprising updates in the next day or two! The grow room looks quite a bit different over the last few days.
Your just in time too, I will be switching to 12/12 this week, so it should get fun.
I really like Doc Buds stuff. I may eventually give it a shot now that I have a tad bit more organic understanding. It may be a good time for me to go that route once when I re-amend my soil and let it cook again.
I'm going to get the plants more of a flower/preflower tea going before I hit the bed so I'll be back soon with some good updates.

Update day and last update before 12/12 flip!
Easter Sunday evening I finally had time to get some transplanting done. The bad news is that I quickly realized that my 1.5 batches of TLO soil was not going to be anywhere near enough soil to get the 6 plants in 7 or 10 gallon pots :(.
So here is what I decided to do as more of an experiment along the way. We are going to flower 4 plants in 5 gallon containers and we will flower one of the Lemon Kush Headband plants as well as the Malauwi X Panama in 13 gallon containers!
I put it the 2 biggest plants in the large containers.
Started off with a 2 inch layer of perlite...
1779792

Added about 1 inch of soil and
then a layer of my floor layering blend for flower

Here is a shot of the roots during transplant.

After adding about 6 inches more soil I was able to transplant.
I then added 1 flowering spike and 1 high Nitrogen spike to opposing sides of the pot clear down to the perlite.

After the spikes I sprinkled a light high Nitrogen layer on the top of the containers and re-multched them and gave them a thorough watering in.

If you cant tell, these pots are HUGE and were roughly 40 pounds or more when watered in.

Also, probably ly the biggest news is that I think I'm starting to get the feel for this TLO. As you can see, all 6 plants are VERY happy now. Even all the clawing that Malauwi was doing is pretty much gone.

At this point, I dont see anymore good reasons to keep them in Veg.
The training has us a very nice even canopy and I think we may as well go to flower now. They will be flipped tomorrow!

After this update I will immediately post a size comparison of the 5 gallon pots aside the 13 gallon.

In the meantime, here are some shots of how well things have been going as well as the evenness of the canopy. I will say,as long as they stay happy through a good part of flower, we should have a few 7oz plants here. It may not look like it from where you sit but I have kept them low and WIDE! We will have many many main tops per plant.
TIME TO LET THEM STRETCH!!

Here is a shot at eye level.
Nice and even, ready for the stretch.

...looking good!...nice even canopy... :thumb:...maybe next year I'll invest in some of those pots, seeing as I definitely won't be needing seeds...(damn 420 sales!...;))...seems a lot of people like them...I had a couple of 15 gal fabric pots last year, and this ole' back didn't like moving them after a watering, and to be truthful, didn't notice a significant difference over 10's in regards to yield...my DDA's will be going in 5 gallon pails in the next day or two...I'm running them 18/6...anyways...carry on...:high-five:...cheerz...h00k...:hookah:...

FLOWERING TEA
(For two weeks from flowering starts until halfway through flowering).
1 gallon RO water
3/4 tbsp molasses
1 tsp alfalfa meal
2 tbsp Fox Farm Big Bloom
1/2 tsp bee pollen
1 tsp insect frass
1/8 tsp Azomite powder
1 tsp Kelp meal
1/2 tsp dry soluble kelp seaweed
1 tsp feather meal
1/2 tsp Organicare Pure Bloom dry.
1/2 tsp high N guano
1/4 tsp high P guano
1/2 tsp dried fish
1/4 cup of my fresh harvested earthworm castings.
6ml Of General Organics Calmag.
1781318

And, after 12 hours of brewing it's looking well.
1781319

This will brew for at least 12 more hours and then diluted way down to 50ppm.

Well, once again, the tea was ready but only 1 plant is ready for water. My action....Dilute a small amount of the 750ppm tea down to 80ppm and give each plant enough to get the top few inches wet. Each plant got slightly less than 1 quart of the solution. That will hold them off until the bottoms dry out a bit more. This left me with 3/4 of the gallon of tea leftover. The house plants got a small amount as did my 2 outdoor seedlings.

add an extra tbsp of molasses each extra day too so you feed all those extra billions of microbes you are generating...
Thank you for that! Last night I did add 1/2 tsp more just because I knew I would let it brew a bit longer but I was afraid too add too much. 1tbsp per day extra...Thank you.
