Escape Velocities: Syenite's Stealth Miniatures

Loom, HSC Bigfoot Glue (GG#4 x Humboldt Headband), day 61

Loom's base is almost done. I love how the tops are lining up!

It's going to make a lovely (little) wall of green. Flip is imminent.

And here's a bonus pic of the cardboard box - it was looking particularly splendid to me last night. I've removed most of the books to minimise the amount of moisture being held in the box (thanks @Kismet )!

The past few days have seen much more favourable weather, and I haven't needed the dehumidifier at all.

January and February are going to be good months! :high-five:

Fabulous round up of the world of Chem etc. I couldn’t possibly fit in listening to those right now, as much as I’d like to, so thanks for noting some of the particularly interesting stuff!

Glad you enjoyed it, Amy! Happy to be distilling information for y'all since I've currently got the motivation to grind through hours of these talks. Don't want it to go to waste, and documenting it is necessary because.. memory, lol.

:high-five:

Great job you’ve done finding the headwaters of some of these streams of thought. Well done. :adore: It has seemed a bit like trying to catch smoke in a net, but you’ve chased down some ghosts here. Some of the stories people had made up as legend passed into myth - some of them were pretty entertaining too.
Good on you pinning these butterflies to the page.
:love::peace:
Guess I should dust off a few of those old Grateful Dead bootlegs now soon.

Haha I've never listened to the Grateful Dead, but I feel like I should just for context!

It's been very satisfying to drill down to the nitty gritty of some of these stories. Many of the key players are still kicking around! It's incredible to me how such important stories and people are still inaccessible/unknown to the larger part of our community.

Loom and the other ladies are looking very nice! She's a stout little thing!
And here's a bonus pic of the cardboard box
It truly is a thing of beauty! (from one cardboard grower to another :) )

Thank you Carcass! That means a lot coming from you! :Namaste: :green_heart:

I’ve been saturating myself with this info As well and there’s soooo much to take in. Girls look gorgeous brother

Hahaha I thought you would be into it! We should chat more about this. :high-five:

Honestly Sye!

Your grow is so uniquely beautiful!

It never ceases to amaze me.

:) :) :)

Very kind words, Tra, thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the shapes. More to come! :thanks:

More great info on the heavyweight strains sy. That Crumbled Lime I just pulled is a Biker cross. I'd like to grow more of Karma's gear as it's some nice stuff. I did a Biker Kush 2.0 before I joined 420 and it was a very nice plant.

Yes I think @DonkeyDick alerted me to the relationship between the Crumbled and the Biker! Makes a lot of sense, too. I'm very tempted by Karma's Headband, which is their Biker Kush x Sour Diesel...

Hi sy, I love the way your plants look! Sooo healthy! :yummy: You should really give the Dead a listen. Its like a good hit of herbs for your ears.

Thank you Fred! The plants are a pleasure.

Not out of the woods yet, though! Still figuring out this odd yellowing.

OK, I'm gonna fire up some Dead on Spotify.. get into the spirit of things :ganjamon:

Mid-week update on the flowering girls

They progress so quickly at this point, I thought I'd better document it!

Grub, Pre '98 Bubba Kush, day 29 of 12-12

This one is as immaculate as ever.

Starting to get slightly tangy notes rising above the dankness.

Wish, HSO Blue Dream auto, day 48 above ground

This one is looking and smelling great. Progressing VERY fast.

The smell is increasingly sweet and floral.

Now, the yellowing hasn't progressed. But I do suspect foul play...

Remember when I said this to @DonkeyDick ?

don't worry - I don't have a gnat problem! :thumb:

Famous last words?

More in the next update!

Stay lifed, fam! :Namaste::green_heart:

Gnats- know em too well. Get Mosquito bits or Mosquito dunks and add some to your water. My latest method is to add some to the water and let it sit for a day before I use the water (And I squish and stir it in throughout the day. It’s the only thing I have tried that just works. I use that, and sticky traps to monitor.

Your plants are truly beautiful!

Midweek fungus gnat special!

I have the house to myself for a few days as my GF has gone to visit her sister up north. It's been a day and I've already eaten too much pizza by myself...

Also, today was my last proper day of work. I'm technically working next week but there will be very little to do, so I imagine a series of half days and sunny afternoons on the beach.

We also had our end-of-year work drinks and town was overrun with office idiots like us because apparently everyone had had the same idea. I'm not much of a drinker, so I had a discreet capsule from a tiny bottled marked "F3" (my shorthand for "fan leaf triple infusion in coconut oil") and some ginger beer. Things were jolly and nice and I stopped by another part of town to see some friends but then I was honestly so happy to be on my way home to enjoy a quiet evening all to myself!

In saying all that, I am very lucky here, to be able to do these things at all, given the world picture.

And just say gno to gnats :).

I Just Took My First Step In Saying GNO to GNATS!!!

Apologies to case-sensitive types.

Well. I think I have a gnat problem.

I spotted a couple flying around the plants at the same time. I'd seen the odd one in the past, but didn't think twice about it. But I should've thought about it. It's purely out of ignorance that I thought unless I saw a bunch, I didn't need to worry! The other thing I noticed was a handful of dead ones on the floor of the cabinet.

I noticed something else too, and wondered what you all thought about it...

Does the coloration look strange to you all, in the centremost tops? There's a band of yellow between the green. When the secondary branches were coming up, they were quite yellow.

The first thing that came to mind was obviously an N deficiency. But shouldn't that have meant that the oldest, bottommost leaves yellowed first?

So.. I wonder if the fungus gnats could account for the strange discoloration patterns. At the same time, I don't want to discount the simplest and most obvious possibility that it's an N def.

I stirred some Mosquito Bits into water, then separated the residual bits from the solution/mixture and scattered them on top of the soil. I then combined the solution/mixture with my usual nutes and supplements. My little auto had already received the same treatment. Grub will be last in line when fed tomorrow.

The base nute PPM has been raised since the last feed as well, and that would probably account for the new green on top.

I want to resolve these issues soon, as Loom is just about ready for flip! Not long before each top is exactly where I want it.

:thanks::surf:

Good on you Syenite for having a relaxing week ahead planned, with summer days now, it sounds a great plan!
I hope the gnats don't amount to anything and the strange leaf discolouration comes right, sorry I can't be any help.

Excellent you’re already there! I just use it all the time now, whether I see them or not. They’re kinda everywhere outside here so I figure it’s worth it. I’m sure you’ll knock them down :thumb:

I hope it'll be relaxing, anyway! Bloody Christmas. I'll be trying my best. :thanks:

Cheers! No need to apologise my friend!

Yep. Seems like the kind of risk that is worth mitigating as soon as there is any suspicion. :thumb:

It works best when left to sit in the water for a while, like Amy and @Carcass do. Since it's a bacteria, leaving it in the water gives them time to multiply and really fill the jug. Carcass keeps a bucket of water around with the dunks in them that he uses for his nute water every time. He's already said gno to gnats!
