- Blackberry Kush harvest 11/28:

Goood monday 420 fam & growers!
Blackberry Kush chopped down last night 11/28. Total 70 days above ground, not bad!
Even tho I kinda let it to stretch how she wanted, there was like 5-10cm gaps between nodes so the main colas was mostly ones which fully connected and got denser. Structure was actually like a berry bush, so blackberries innit!

Couple pics before she went down:

Had about 3-4h trimming operation (including bowl breaks ).
Original plan was to strip and trim the plant and hang the whole crop upside down, but went with the old habits.

Wet weight were 473g :headbanger:and my guess about -30-50g in stems.
So hoping to get 3-4oz (100-120g) dry. Over 3 oz and I’m more than happy with 70 days spent. Did a quick research and Blackberry Kush auto avg. yields 70-78g.

Oh and once again, at least one wrist thick nugget. Seems to be my goal to achieve at least one wrist thick cola from each harvest.

Buds are hanging upside down from the stems in bathroom. Stable 40-45% RH, an oscillating fan creating little air movement and opened window just for a bit so temps drop down to 19-20C. Pretty close to ideal drying environments.
Had to cover the window and keeping lights out for the next 48h so chlorophyll breaks down faster.

Once thinner stems snaps to break I’ll start jarring and prune dry leftover lef. Bigger ones might need an extra day or two hanging.
With that low temp and slightly higher adjusted RH my drying estimate is 72h.

And now begins the fun with Purple Punches, when the ladies got whole 2x3 tent, just for them. Been planning to set 2x2 scrog for the PP#1 (soil plant). PP on dwc goes with LST clips. More abou that later!

Have a smoky-monday!

E: And not to forgot mention that this Blackberry Kush were grown under @Mars Hydro TS 1000. 150W dimmable LED. It did sucha great job in that small growing space!

You feel my fingers right now? That stickiness - had to pour acetone on my fingers to get rid off it at the end of the day.

Looks yummy!

11/30 Journal update

Hellow, it is cold ass tuesday here. -11C outside and the air is dry as hell.

The tent fortunately has a nice warm and lil moist environments. And Purple Punches are punchin' forward. Actually PP#2 on dwc thrives maybe a little too much if I read her right…
What you reckon @Rexer @FelipeBlu is it still looking a happy plant praying and photosynthesis in best of it? Or is it getting a heat or light stress - see those leave edges slightly tacoing. Also wondering is it the same case or is that just slightly excessive amount of N when leave tips hook downwards just a little.

Their environment should be close to ideal as you can get;
Temp 23-24C & RH 40-50% (humidifier runs with a timer) that gives a VPD of 1.1kPa
TS1000 is set 19" above and dimmed to ~85% not sure how many lux they getting like that, but wouldn’t think thats too much because no signs of a Ca deficiency..
She eats and drinks properly and TDS is 740ppm
Thoughts?

Plus mixed in a teaspoon (0.5g) of GHE Silica - that wont raise/affect on Ca, Mg or Fe values much at all.

Purple Punch auto on soil is about a week ahead and shes bout to start stretching any second. She looks fine tho. Little droopy look since took the pictures a moment after watered her.

Blackberry Kushes still hanging. I guess they need 24-48h before I start jarring.
This morning took couple small samples and gotta admit that the taste is awsome! Sweet citrus aroma. ”The fresh green” still tastes there but when properly cured I think this going to be topshelf stuff :Rasta:

I've had a hankering to grow some purple punch. It's in line.
I already fell in love with this strain! :) Been looking other Purple Punch diaries/pics and Barney’s Farm definitely has a better quality PP’s than fastbuds.

Photoperioid version of this strain and hopefully clones one day will be the next thingy!

Also wondering is it the same case or is that just slightly excessive amount of N when leave tips hook downwards just a little.
I’m not seeing anything to get very concerned about. The raised leaf edges might be a touch of reaction to slightly too much light or slightly low humidity.

Excellent!
70ppm
P: 25ppm
K: 105ppm + ~45-50ppm from Terpinator
Yeah, 70 ppm N is hardly likely to result in excess. On the other hand, K being about 2X N is about as high as I would go.

Looks great Verbalist! Love the look of that blackberry!

When the tips point down like that, yup, that's a sign of nitrogen toxicity. Though FelipeBlu pointed out with your current nute mix you should be good.
My Somango Auto had that half her life. I never was able to correct it on her.
Weird.

I’m not seeing anything to get very concerned about. The raised leaf edges might be a touch of reaction to slightly too much light or slightly low humidity.
Figured out when rose RH up to 65% then they both got lil droopy. Prob because there was a major change in VPD.
And dimmed lamp down to ~70% - thats prob enough for them. I’ll dim up if they get any stretchy.

Gotta hope shes just like super healthy thriving like no tomorrow :ganjamon:

If the clawing gets any worse I’ll flush and maybe have to slightly drop the N ppm value..

I hope that they’d stay just like that Rexer mentioned and the new foliage stays better.
Fingers crossed!

And thanks for the input gentlemen. I really appreciate everything

12/1 Update

Hola again folks!
So hmm where do we start? From the sweetest part then. :ganjamon:
Blackberry Kushes has been hang drying for bout over 3 days. Surface feels crisp dry to the touch. Sooo decided to weigh them…120g / 4oz dry!
More than satisfied, actually a little surprised it yielded that much.
Now gotta keep an eye on the jars… they def get moist with in first 24h. Might just leave lids open for overnight.

Last one before harvest

Jarred and curing :)

And lil Punches punchin their things day by day.
PP#1 (soil) plant looks like shes bout to start pre-flower stretching.
29 days above ground and just started the 5th week.

Interesting PP#1 has a red veins!

Her little sister on DWC got LST clip’d :cheesygrinsmiley:
A bit weird how she can reach towards the light and pray, then suddenly half of it wilts down. Or upper leaves starts to look droopy but mid/lower ones still perkin up.

And roots are looking SUPER healthy! Me gusta :bravo:

Now expecting to PP#2 start branching out a bit faster.. hopefully I could get most of the nodes pretty close canopy before leggy stretching starts.

And now its time for a berry-taste juicy jay! :yummy:

I love me some purple bud! It just appeals to me!

¡Muy bonita! :yummy:

Do you have any small hygrometers that will fit in a jar? Putting buds in jars after only 3 days of drying will certainly mean that there is still plenty of moisture present. You will likely have to “burp” multiple times a day for the first few days to keep the humidity in the jars below 65%.

Congratulations Verbalist! Looks sweet and sticky!!
Thank you thank you gentlemen!
Sweet, top shelf product. But actually not that sticky… Theyre almost crisp to touch right now. Think I maybe had a bit too fast hang drying.
Anyway since jarred now and if theyre not getting ”soft surface” again within 12h, then I’d have to ”sweat” them, that could fix it for a bit.
Sweating happens when placing a damp cloth (microfiber cloth) between the jar and lid. That wont give the same result, but could save a bit.
…So fingers crossed it is not too dry :Namaste:

I love me some purple bud! It just appeals to me!
I’ve always loved the purple weed. Not just bcoz the color is kewl. Purple is always purp

Yup can fit one in biggest jar, but eats a lot of space.
I’m really hoping right now that Ive keep burping them for couple days.
The outer surface was actually bone dry when took them off from the hangar.
Theyve been in jars for about 8h now and just a moment ago opened one lid and tested if they feel soft and moist. Still pretty dry to touch….

Early on, I put some buds in jars that seemed very dry on the outside. When I opened the jars the next day to burp them, I smelled ammonia - there was mold starting deep inside the buds - next to the stem. Lesson learned.

I feel you brother :eye-roll: from the last harvest had jars and jars of NL so forgot one jar to the shelf and kept it closed for like 3-4 days straight. There was mold already on top of the surface. BUT iron lungs,lol.. I just took the mold off and cut the buds to see whats inside - they were actually smokeable but not enjoyable.

But yeah, luckily when woke up this morning and popped the lids the buds felt ”softer” and more or less moist surface again! :yahoo:
Jars are filled from bottom to the top completely so I’m not only burping them.. ”Plowing” them around once or twice per day so the bottom ones get on top etc. because really don’t wanna mess with the mold this time.
