DWC - Drip Irrigation Scrog 2400W

Hey Miwa I use to use clonex alot also but I did it using DWC. It does make the res yucky but C's right you dont need it. But if you still want to stick with clonex, they have clonex for hydro. Its a liquid pretty much does the same as gel. Other then that, your grow nutes will do fine for cuttings as well. Ive been reading up on my GH nutes I use which is 2 part floranova and come to find out that stuff has everything in it that is sold separately as additives with other companies. I use FF grow though in the res instead of my floranova though. I just read about it today but you can use floranova for cuttings etc. Also I have CaMg+ witch is also used for cuttings. I added all of that to my res and got good results. IDK know about how fast they root but once they root the root mass is huge with in weeks. So pretty much no need on spending more money just use what ya got :thumb:

Oh and by using the gel, you dont have to put it in your res, On my newest cuttings I split the stem down the middle and dip it into the gel then stuck it in the res. I have a thing with letting the gel go to lol

Thats exactly what I do, cut the clone from the mother. Put into water until I'm ready to put it in the cloner. Then I cut the lowest branch, cut the stem up the middle and then dip in the gel clonex and into the EzCloner it goes. Do the same if it's going into a rapid rooter as well.

I pretty much just started using hydro to clone after talking it over with C here. Im all the way good with rapid rooters. 100% on those. I want the benefits of hydro cloning with bigger roots in shorter time. Plus I want to leave them in there for about a month and then transplant into soil for flower.

Yeah G..gotta watch that sun cure..thc will degrade fast...Yep..A...i had a 100% rate doing it like that...but the stems wasn't hollow...really big hole...but i cut at a angle..and me i let it soak in the jel for about a minuite into the cloner.. i got my pump on a timer...

I just give my clones a quick dip in the gel, perhaps I will try the longer approach......thanx!!
Never have used a timer. Might give that a go as well.

I think the rooters are more tempermental on the enviroment then the Hydro cloning. Just my take on it from what I have seen so far. The hydro cloning gets you quicker roots thats for sure.

I think u are going about it the wrong way if u are transplanting into soil. it will work but its not the best way. when u root in the aerocloner as the roots develop they develop to work for hydro. they grow quite differently to how they would in soil. so if u leave clones for a month u will have long hydro roots. when u transplant to soil it will take a while for it to start growing. the hydro roots will die and new roots will start to grow so the plant can take nutes and water out of soil. having said that, if u clone in aero cloner and transplant when roots are small, say around 2" that will work fine as the roots are pre conditioned to hydro at that point.

next time try with just water and let me know what u think. i get great results using only water. the gel gets washed off in cloner anyway and just blocks sprayers and make res slimey.

2 weeks in cloner with only water.

I just weighed in over there. I agree with you... Stiletto really can flat-out grow though, so don't go too hard on him, lol -- he's a super nice guy too and I've seen him bend over backwards to help a lot of people here.

I used to feel same way as him, but I've slowly converted to the yank 'em side of the spectrum. This is the growing version of the global warming debate, lol.

I love watching people convert over to the light side! The force is with you strong!

Now back to page 18 to catch up.

ok so its start of week 5 from 12/12 today. plants are getting very bushy again, will defoliate again at weekend.

The flood drain system plants are starting to take off now. What a nightmare i had. The timer on the control unit failed so they werent getting flooded. I cant get there everyday so they were almost dead when i got there and realised. They are 3 weeks into veg and i'd of normally flipped by now but i will leave it till weekend to flip to let the smaller plants catch up. I havent trained these so much, as i just cant be there alot and the guy that minds them is a novice so best to do the minimum.

I got a question, on my current DWC grow, the roots on almost all of my plants are only coming out of a couple spots on the net pots. It's almost like there is a big root mass that's dangling by a single root or two. The plants look healthy and all, but I noticed your roots are coming out of almost every hole in your net pots. You ever experience a trying like this? I've ran single dwc 5 gal buckets before, but never had this happen. Also the roots are white and healthy, temp is good and all that. Any advice?

Looking really good, Cultivator! :thumb:

NEPharmer: I agree with Cultivator, I've had that too, like a giant root ball with only a few roots connecting it to the netpot... As long as the roots are healthy it should be good - I've had really nice yielding plants in DWC with roots like that actually. :)

Yeah, that's what I figured, Im just worried that I'mgoing to lift up the lid and the roots will be too heavy when not floating and will snap off. But I'll just have to be extra careful I guess. Thanks guys!

i have just had this problem and the tap root ended up snapping right off i lost 95% of my root system if you look at my thread it has just stunted the growth just before flower time so i dont know what to do all i could think of was putting it in a self contained dwc bucket with independant drippers etc to try help it come back to life its been three days still droopy and sad but hasnt started to die yet i dont know if this would be worth trying to recover or if it should be down the road any advice would be greatly thanked guys and cultivator pimp as always!

Thats a shame mate. id put it in its own bucket and allow it to recover if thats an option. the roots normally head for thye air stone so maybe if ur air stone is at one side the rott growth may have headed for that. u could try turning net pot once a day or place air stone more central. just an idea.

Hey C what you think of that Fort Knox Hydro kit? I think I can build one instead of paying all that money.

Hey mate i have no idea what that is lol. can u send me a link and i'll have a look?

Heres a vid of the grow room and a basic cutting guide. As u can tell this vid was rushed so the cutting tutorial isnt perfect but shows the basics. The mother plant was in no shape to give cuttings really as id only recently taken 200 off her. theres lots of shit in this grow room but this is where i try diff things to try on bigger projects. What happens in here usually filters off into my other grows.

The vids still busy uploading, it'll be up soon.
