Yeah mate. some of the larger cuttings i take have hollow stems off my flying dutchman pure. i just treat them the same way i treat any other clone. to be honest i root some weird ass clones. when i do big prune of my mothers i put big woody cuttings with 4 and 5 heads and they root great. Actually makes me need to train them less. from my experience u can clone pretty my any type cutting from a healthy plant, woody, young, hollow, bendy, stiff, long, short, lots nodes, a couple nodes. so long as mother is healthy and u use clean cuts with clean equip there should be no probs. thats my experience in aerocloners.

u got a picture? in veg i dont even change my res unless the clay pebbles werent washed properly and have put residue in water. the way i see it, its a waste of nutes as ur roots wont be able to take them all in. i only veg for 2 weeks. what gap do u have between net pot and nutes? and what size dwc is it?
 
what do u mean by fog though whizz? do u mean the water is murky? are ur roots white? do they look healthy or do they smell and feel slimey or brown? some nutes make the res look dirtyish. if plants look healthy and roots are ok then theres no prob. try using guardian or dutch masters zone to keep root probs at bay.

Theres no root problem. They are snow white. They had stop growing one way then start growing new roots from the old ones but there all white. Ive been keeping res temps down. But yea it look merky. There was cloudy slim on one of the stems but no biggie. I just thought it may be a problem and just wanted to solve it before it got worse. But I guess theres no problem :) Thanks. Oh I picked up that dutch stuff also. Ive been seeing great results so reps to you again when I can, I have to spread more love around. Back to my fav show "Weeds". Catch ya on your next update. :thumb:
 
no dont use gel, how do u do ur cuttings? i only use h2o and get amazing resulys. just dip straight in water soon as u make cut then transplant to cloner or cubes.
 
really? gel just makes res slimey. i used to use clonex for a long time but im actually getting better results without it. just make sure u dip cutting straight in clean water after making cut thats vital. i have about 100 in now all with roots showing.
 
Hey Miwa I use to use clonex alot also but I did it using DWC. It does make the res yucky but C's right you dont need it. But if you still want to stick with clonex, they have clonex for hydro. Its a liquid pretty much does the same as gel. Other then that, your grow nutes will do fine for cuttings as well. Ive been reading up on my GH nutes I use which is 2 part floranova and come to find out that stuff has everything in it that is sold separately as additives with other companies. I use FF grow though in the res instead of my floranova though. I just read about it today but you can use floranova for cuttings etc. Also I have CaMg+ witch is also used for cuttings. I added all of that to my res and got good results. IDK know about how fast they root but once they root the root mass is huge with in weeks. So pretty much no need on spending more money just use what ya got :thumb:

Oh and by using the gel, you dont have to put it in your res, On my newest cuttings I split the stem down the middle and dip it into the gel then stuck it in the res. I have a thing with letting the gel go to lol
 
i have an aero cloner home made diy system and only use water with alot of air so far 100% success rate by far best way to get best results in my opinion

Yep...i had mine on a timer..was getting roots in a week or less...in fact i have 2 aeros...got plants growing in one...sitting in the window...they are bagseed..going to see if they flower...
 
i use the areo bucket diy when i need them fast and only water but sometimes i need to have them slower so i do rockwool and clonex. i recomend to newbies to use rockwool and jel in a small clone area as alot of new new growers make alot of mistakes and most offten the jel works even for them. but strains do play a part in sucess ratio some strains take a long time up to 14 days for roots while others can have them in 3 days. areo is the best ... areoonics aint nothing new it goes way back to early hydro growing. some one just coined a name for it. we did flooded and drain systems.pump systems, sprayers up , sprayers down, drip systems in buckets pots plastic bags, double buckets ,gunny sacks, boxes ect . indoor and out door all diferent stuff i have done with many other growers back in the late 70s to 80s all the way to now. i have built hidden swing walls , closet systems garage systems whole room systems boxes and filing cabinet to whole ware house systems. from string lights outside for winter crops to plastic baging a good mother outside to protect from frost. i have did water cures dry cures co2 and dry ice cures , even heat and freezeing cures. all diferent stuff over the years some with great sucsees some with acendental sucess and some not so good but stony stuf. did all kinds of cloneing[banzi] and even done gafting multiple strains to the same plant even male to female and female to male grafting. i have done alot of stuff with alot of people over the years. the best way to teach a newbie is in soil and leave the plant alone just water and dont over or under water it.just let it grow. have lots of patience and let the plant teach ya . graduate to other stuff after you get to know the plant. the best soil to buy is for rose bushes with bone meal in it. and buy a small jar of superthrive for your micro nutes. a 3 gallon pot holds enough of everything the plants need all the way to harvest. indoor or out. i advise outdoor newbies to plant green onions. garlic, catnip , basil and mint around the plants. 99% of the buggies we hate wont come around. even most animals that bug your plants. and all the good bugs like that stuff so it serves a dual purpose. new indoor growers should change clooths and wash up before going into garden . it is what you bring in that kills your plants. and have good lite and good air. that simple and most will never have an issue. 13 hrs on for indoor with 1 hr in mid nite cycle will be way enough lite for veg and 12/12 for flowering. i have side lighting in my system and fans and they come on just before main lites do one side for morning and the other for evening. 1/2hr for each. my main lights are always on 12/12 with my mid day 150w on for only five . when i flower the nite light is off and the morning and evening light are off. even my fans are on dif sides and timers. and air is always ciculateing. i have an awsome inexpensive pasive ventaltion co2 system for max co2 i keep my room temps from 70 to 85 dgf and my humidity from 40 to 60% i use evaperative passive cooling for the root system i use 3 temp humidity meters and adjust ph to around 6 i have had sucess with ph as low as 5.5 and high as 7.5. 6 to 6.5 gives best for almost all strains. i have lived in many states and have used tap water to distilled to r/o to soft water. tap is the best and ph controll it. but for the new guy dont worry about ph the law keeps municple water between 6.8 and 7.2 and has tons of micro nutes in it that plants use. r/o can strip your plants and when i see or read about dif nute problems it is one of 2 things r/o/distilled water or temp . most nutes can lock out from that alone so adding stuff dosent always work as with most advice is to flush your system and that in most cases solves it but if temp problem it will come back and if r/o problem then change your water out more offten cause the plants will use what it can get untill lock out occurs again. i dont recomend pure r/o water. just for sprays and fert mixing seperate from the tap. i adjust ph to the fert as well as the tap. and the fert goes in after the tap. it is diluted in r/o and adjusted, the tap has enough minerals in it and i only match the ph. so the r/o dose not strip the plant and or cause nute lock out. i have had great sucess with just tap alone and a ph adjustment. no r/o at all. anytime a plant has an issue especially with any type of hydro systems flush and change.
 
really liked the water cure and the stuff all turned purple and tasted like a purple and got stonier. i do a slow dry/cure method today if you have seen some of my other posts you may already know most of it. and i have done jar curing as well to give buds that thai flavor. really got to watch that way. timing is everything there.
but a few growers i know want me to cure it that way for them they love the ole thai flavor. and they fuck it up . so i do it. they give me a few big ass buds to make it worht my while. i just sell it to a local street dealer. but you really have to watch it and know what to smell for. i went thru alot of stuff perfecting it and my senses to know when to stop the cure and dry it out. i even have done sun curing in bags to get the stuff golden that too you have to watch carefully it is pretty fun to show some one gold buds or thia cured buds even water cured buds and when they smoke it they go wow. santa marta gold/ panama red /mexican sonoran/ and afgani were the original pure strains that made haze and cronic strains and california famous for the best pot and mowie wowie electric blue from the mid 80s . i grw alot of shit and called it whatever made the customer happy back then and my seeds were pure strains as i had lots of military buddys bringing me bud from all over. the sonora sativa is the main strain in the ny diesl strains and train wreak also comes from the sonora mex strains. alot of people grew that stuff over the years and never new where it came from but i was there in the big ass pot filled hills and valleys and the new yorkers from the 80s and 90s know who i am... they also know how to be cool. i have friends in spain,canada amsterdam and all over the place who know me. so this is like the first forum i have ever joined and said anything to anyone. i have been guests on 100s of them just to contact a few ole buds or their kids who took over. so yes it is really nice to hear from some one who has did alot of what i have. so you know.
YOU CAN GROW KILLER SHIT FROM ANYTHING.
