Dutchman's Auto Quads Vs LST With A Critical+2.0 Twist!

Oh wow Dutch! I just don’t know what impressed me most in here. Those criticals are looking fantastic. The autos are doing great too (excepts for little saddie PE), keep up the good work!
Thanks HH!

I’d remove the constraints on the PE and see if she takes off.
I’m always open to trying it out! Ties will be removed today!

Mine never budge if I take off a tie in flower, which I rarely do.

Indeed! Nothing ventured nothing gained :).
Yup, go for it!
Ties have been removed and she’s almost ready for another feeding so Mah e WW will see some bounce back !!

I'm glad you mentioned bumping up the feedings on your autos because they all are looking lighter green to me and hungry. I think you will see a bit of a bounce back after increasing the feed a bit.
Yea I have been feeding light but am increasing next feed and hopefully like you say I’ll get some good good positive bounce back!

What’s up everyone! Another beautiful day here at the Dutch house and things are moving right along. I am going to keep this short and sweet today since I’ll have a bit of a longe update tomorrow! After talking about PEa1 more I went ahead nad removed her ties in hopes of her having any possible branch stress relieved.

I’m also going to be bumping their feed up since you can tell all the autos are a lighter green indicating they’ve are hungry. I have been feeding on the lighter side but it’s time to start bumping it up.

The buds on both CC autos are frosting up and looking yummy! They have really started to smell now as well. When I open the tent I get a pleasant kick in the nostrils of some yummy terpenoids.

Sorry for the lack of critical pictures today. I was in the tent earlier when I was spreading out EM1.1 and I may have gotten a little to high before and forgot to snap a bunch before lights off... so for today it’s just the one! But on a side note I have been taking care of a cutting I took from the criticals last Tuesday and it looks almost ready to push out some roots from the jiffy peat and get transplanted into her new 1gal pot. She will be going to a friend once she’s rooted and healthy.

Anyways that’s about it for today! I’ll make sure to catch you all up with a bunch more photos tomorrow. Until then I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend and stay medicated!!

Did PEa1 move when you took the ties off?

I love the macro shots of the pistils...so fuzzy!

Now let's see how they like the nute bump.

PEa1 didn’t move at all with the ties removed. She’s going to be ready for a feed/water tomorrow so I’ll be bumping her nutes up as well as all the other girls with this upcoming feed.

I love taking the macro shots and getting up close!

Well hello again everyone! Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend was well and your winding down and ready for the week ahead. I’ve got a mostly photo update today. PEa1 will be getting a water/feed tomorrow instead since I was busy today and but with the ties having been removed I haven’t noticed any change in her. Maybe that won’t be the case once she gets a feeding tomorrow! All the other autos are on cruise control with their next feeding being increased as well. They should need a watering on Tuesday by the feel of the pots right now. Lots of frost on the CC autos and PEa2 is starting to get frosty now as well. PEa1 is getting bigger buds but still sad looking.

These critical ladies are very impressive and really looking great! They are steadily praying to the lights and have really started pushing out the pistils!

Hope your all well!
Stay medicated !!

Things are looking great Dutch! I hope the feeding perks that PEa1 right up. :goodluck:

I know you have a lot of newcomers here following your grow looking for tips, tricks, and answers for training. So I wanted to mention that your PEa2 didn't turn into the best example of LST as a comparison to quadlining the PEa1. I know you know this but for anyone who isn't aware, the theory behind LST training is that you are tricking the plant into thinking it no longer has an apical stem by keeping it as low or lower than the lowest growth on the plant. That didn't happen here for one reason or another, so while you have gotten great light to the lowers, you haven't gotten the growth that results from a redistribution of the auxins (plant growth hormones).

It's the the change in position of the apical stem relative to the rest of the plant that is key to LST, rather than just opening up the lowers to light.

Of course, sometimes the plant goes into flower before you've really had a chance for the training to have an effect. I've had a few of those! Damn autos...

Nothing against quadlining (my Peyote Critical is quadined!), but I wanted to point out that while the quads look great, the LST didn't quite get flat enough to make it work.
